Looking for advice from experienced injectors. Botox stopped working on longtime client.

I’ve been treating the same client for 3 years with no issues. This last treatment we did her usual dose and had essentially no effect. I brought her back at 2 weeks for a full touch-up, and 2 weeks later she still has no response.
I also treated her sister (and several other clients) on the same day with the same product and had no issues. 🤔

She wants to try a different tox, and I only have Daxxify samples. I’m confused and struggle with the 1.2 mL reconstitution and dosing! 😅 Has anyone reconstituted it the same as Botox and used it the same way?

Has anyone had a longtime client suddenly become a non-responder, and did switching brands help? Should I even try and treat her again or wait it out?

Milan Laser Nurse

I graduated a year ago and I have experience in the hospital setting as a NICU nurse. I was recently hired at Milan laser as a part time provider back in August and everything that could go wrong has been😭😭😭. There’s always been a conflict in my schedule and I haven’t been able to fulfill the training requirement’s. It’s 2 days of virtual training and 9 days of travel training in another state. I am upcoming on my third attempt of training and I really want to make it work despite it appearing otherwise. I went part time in the NICU and I feel like that ain’t even enough for the demands of training at Milan. I’m just not sure if I should prioritize Milan or take a step back from my NICU nurse role at the hospital for a bit or reconsider everything all together😞? Pls help

To all the Canadian Medi Spa Owners: What is the Key to Success?

My dream is to open up a small aesthetic practice, specializing in skincare treatments, injectables, and a few soft skill services like lash lifts and brow laminations.

I previously had a small business but offering soft skill aesthetic services like shellac manicures, waxing, basic facials, and lash lifts / brow laminations. Almost 2 years ago, I left it to go into nursing school to expand my scope of practice.

I’m graduating nursing school soon (in Ontario, Canada), and although I am aware that I will still need to become certified in medical aesthetics and injectables, I know I want to work for myself again.

I also receive texts to this day with clients asking me when I will be reopening my doors, which makes me miss it that much more.

I don’t want to one day expand or grow my business, or have employees of any sort. I want to create a small community of consistent clientele like I had before, offer excellent service and attention to detail with every person I meet, and sell the best products alongside each treatment.

That being said, to all the small business owners and established cosmetic nurses: What is or are the key(s) to becoming a success?

How many clients did you get just starting on Persimmon?

I am considering getting Tox trained through Persimmon. From the platform alone, after being certified, about how many clients booked with you per week? How did you promote yourself?

Do you prefer visual face mapping or standard text templates for injection logs?

Question for the practicing injectors here: When pulling up a returning patient's file after 3–4 months, do you find it easier to review a visual face map with unit pins or read structured text notes (e.g., "Glabella: 20U")? I’m working on an interactive canvas prototype designed for iPad use in treatment rooms and want to make sure the visual layout actually matches real-world clinical habits. Would love your thoughts!

Anyone worked at a dental/aesthetic clinic in HCMC? Trying to understand how patient inquiries actually get handled

I'm looking into how clinics in HCMC handle new patient inquiries on Zalo/Facebook, mostly out of curiosity about a project I'm working on. A few things I can't figure out from the outside:

  • When someone messages a clinic's Zalo OA asking about price/availability, who actually answers, front desk, owner, or nobody consistently?
  • How long does it usually take to get a reply back?
  • Do clinics track how many inquiries turn into actual booked appointments, or is that not really measured?
  • Is there a real difference in how dental vs. spa/aesthetic places handle this, or is it the same chaos everywhere?

If anyone's worked front desk, marketing, or ops at a clinic and wants to share how it actually works day to day, genuinely curious. Also open to a quick chat if anyone's interested.

New Injector Advice

If any experienced injectors have advice or tips for new injectors, it would be greatly appreciated. I am still fairly new to lip filler. I’ve been doing it for 6 months and I just feel not confident in my skill set. Seeing all these crazy techniques and amazing lip work makes me incredibly hard on myself. How did you guys overcome these feelings or the pressure? Many clients come to me wanting a whole Russian lip when I find the technique to be incredibly advance.

Social Media Questions

Hi! I wanted to see if anyone has recommendations or tips on how social media works. If someone could take a look and see what I am doing wrong or how I could improve, it would be greatly appreciated! I have had my Instagram for 7years, and it doesn’t seem like anyone sees my work/post/reels. I spend hours to make one video and its views are minimal. Admittedly, I am not very tech savvy and have never been too involved with social media, but it is becoming the standard for my specialty. Anyways, any help would be appreciated!

Here a like to my Instagram for reference

Certification Search

Hello. I am searching for a certification to do Botox and Fillers. Eventually, I'd like to also learn how to do derma planing, micro needling, facial laser, etc. I am an RN licensed in NC with multi-state add-on. I see many academies in Charlotte. I would like to travel no more than 1.5 hours. Charlotte is right at 1 hour and 15 minutes. TN state line is one hour from me as well. Educate me and give me some feedback. I am a retired FF and paramedic on a pension, so I cannot afford one of the more expensive academies but would like to have a decent company behind my cert. TYIA. (Not looking to open my own business, just want certifications.)

THIS AESTHETIC CLINIC AT MEGAMALL

Nag pa massage ako sa Aesthetic Clinic na to, and normal lang ba na pag usapan nila yung mga past employees nila? ‘di naman sa nakikichismis ako pero malakas kasi yung pag uusap nila kaya di ko maiwasan na marinig. AFAIK yung pinag uusapan nila is yung previous NURSES na di daw nagtagal sakanila dahil daw MAARTE at OA ANG COST OF LIVING? Actually based sa chikas nila, meron daw first batch of nurses na nag apply sakanila tapos daw nag resign dahil ina-assign nila sa malayong clinic (which is hindi daw yung clinic na inapplyan nila) tapos pati daw cost of living nila na-question na rin? Actually madami pa akong narinig pero di ko na siguro ididisclose kasi based sa mga friends ko na regular sa aesthetic clinic na to, this aesthetic clinic daw is nagpapa track ng mga taong nagpopost dito sa reddit na related sa clinic nila lolz 🤣🤣

Licensed RN offered 200 hours unpaid training, then $19/hr — are these contract terms normal?

I’m a newly licensed Registered Nurse in Ontario and recently received an employment contract for a Nurse/Clinical Aesthetician position in the Toronto/GTA area.

I’m looking for opinions specifically on the employment terms, because some parts of the contract seem unusual to me.

The offer is:

  • 2-year fixed-term contract
  • 200 hours of “voluntary unpaid training”
  • After completing the 200 unpaid hours, pay becomes $19/hour
  • Performance reviews every 6 months, but raises are entirely at the employer’s discretion
  • Evenings/weekends may be required
  • No commission or guaranteed wage increase mentioned

For context, 200 hours is approximately five full-time 40-hour weeks without pay.

The position includes actual RN/clinical responsibilities such as:

  • Patient intake and assessments
  • Reviewing medical history, medications, allergies and contraindications
  • IV infusions
  • IM injections
  • Monitoring patients and responding to adverse reactions
  • Patient education and aftercare
  • Laser treatments
  • Microneedling
  • Other aesthetic procedures I’m trained/competent to perform

But the same position also includes:

  • Reception/front desk
  • Answering phones
  • Booking appointments
  • Checking patients in/out
  • Processing payments
  • Filing and administrative work
  • Cleaning/preparing treatment rooms
  • Restocking and inventory
  • Asking patients for Google reviews
  • Helping with promotions/referrals/social media
  • Other clinic duties during downtime

The contract also requires me to give at least 3 weeks written notice if I resign and assist with handover and potentially orient/train a replacement during that period.

I’m already a licensed RN, although I’m a new grad.

The part I’m most unsure about is being required to complete 200 hours unpaid before receiving the $19/hour wage, especially when the role involves both nursing responsibilities and a significant amount of reception/admin/clinic work.

For Ontario nurses or anyone familiar with these types of clinics:

Does this compensation structure seem normal?

Has anyone seen 200 hours of unpaid mandatory training written into an employment contract like this?

Does $19/hour seem unusually low for a licensed RN performing these responsibilities?

I’m mainly trying to determine whether these are reasonable industry employment terms or whether I should be concerned about the offer.

Thanks for any insight.

RF Microneedling Tips

I happen to have a lot of VirtueRF and Vivace tips that are not expired and in the original sealed packaging that I’m looking to get rid of. I’m willing to sell them by the box at a steep discount or as a lot for a deep cut. Message me for details.
