I discovered aggrotech a long time ago when I first played DMC and heard Combichrist. Recently, my interest in the genre came back after I heard Psyclon Nine's "Parasitic," so I decided to explore it more seriously.

Something new and refreshing

Hey everyone.

I did ponder this for a while, and based on the community poll, the subreddit will not allow fully AI-generated music.

195 out of 255 voters supported a ban, with another 44 only supporting AI music if it was clearly labelled and subject to conditions. 8 wanted to allow it, and 8 were too busy dancing to care.

Going forward, songs made primarily or entirely by AI music tools will be nuked from orbit.

However, AI-assisted music may still be allowed where there is clear, substantial human creative input, such as vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, arrangement, or production. AI involvement must be disclosed, and posts should use the newly added Song - AI Assisted flair when submitting.

It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: please don’t make me tap Rule #2 if someone posts an AI-assisted song and people start giving them grief in the comments. We are here for music at the end of the day.

Basically: tools are fine, prompt-only songs are not.

I have updated the rules for submissions, and also added post flair (took me long enough)!

I have found myself listening to the same artists on repeat the last few months but haven’t really discovered anything new for a while.
So if you’re an artist and would like to share your work, I’d love to take a listen

Also if your music is aggrotech adjacent like Harsh EBM, Electro-industrial etc I’m down to listen to that too.

If your music is Ai generated I’m not interested, sorry it’s just is never going to be something I’m on board with.

One last thing, if you aren’t an artist but have some more obscure recommendations within the genre I’d be down to give them a listen too.

I'd like to get some community feedback regarding the posting of AI generated songs. While the use of AI to generated content is likely never going away at this point, we can control what gets posted here.

Please try and keep comments civil, I don't fancy tapping the sign pointing to Rule #2 too much, I know this has been a very spicy subject matter in other subreddits, so let's figure out the best way to handle it going forward.

I will be taking a neutral stance on this for the time being.
