u/LowEffort2 23h ago

It would be real cool if y'all would quit throwing me under the bus with the AI slop.

21

u/_waffl 22h ago

You know what, you're alright

6

u/Dead-Calligrapher 9h ago

Not you LowEffort2. We’re talking LowEffort1.

Fuck that guy.

He knows what he did. Or better yet, didn’t do.

15

u/Johnnys-In-America 22h ago

But...but use every tool available and stuff!!

10

u/WeirdistBuilds 21h ago

Or just one tool, poorly.

10

u/threelizards 17h ago

I hate that he’s calling himself “no one can outdo maximum effort”

10

u/Technical_Disk6433 16h ago

Actually it's noon can outdo maximum effort

1

u/vinylscratch27 5h ago

"Slop for slop's sake is an empty phrase. Slop for the sake of truth, slop for the sake of the good and the beautiful...that is the faith that I am searching for."- George Sand

58

u/JediSSJ 1d ago

I love that the biggest picture on the cover is his own face

Oh, is that what it is? I thought it was Terry Potter, Harry's down-on-his-luck recovering-addict cousin.

47

u/MC_Fap_Commander 1d ago

All slop is terrible, but there are tiers for how well AI can fake it. He's using the shit tier of AI.

16

u/123iambill 22h ago

I also have a soft spot for artisanal, hand crafted farm to table slop. Like if you deliver something truly awful, but I know you gave it your all but you just have absolutely no talent whatsoever I'm still gonna give you kudos for having passion and trying to give it your best.

7

u/JayValere 20h ago

The strongest piss filter though, gotta love that warm hazy yellow.

10

u/therapewpew 21h ago

This can't possibly be real? Like, look at all of the different elements going on here. There's no way this ain't a troll checking off every single rage bait box there is.

10

u/greeneggiwegs 19h ago

Surely nooncanoutdo maximumeffort is his legal name

1

u/HeisenBird1015 2h ago

“Noon”?!

15

u/midwestia 1d ago

unkempt af, glasses, hoodie

checks out

7

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

Average Pro AI art person

7

u/ftaok 23h ago

I guess he ran out of tokens.

3

u/cha0sb1ade 21h ago

It's probably a mercy that it's only 15 pages.

2

u/UltraNeoTako 21h ago

He looks like Harry Potter if he never went to Howarts.

2

u/Shoggnozzle 11h ago

Yeah, homeboy gen'd a pamphlet.

149

u/Lysmerry 1d ago

Why does AI art look so filthy? I wonder if it’s a subsurface scattering effect for greater realism in skin texture, and then it repeated to the extent that it looks straight up dirty (kind of like how AI images were all piss yellow for a while because of the Ghibli filter)

83

u/Upset-Nose-4016 1d ago

It's over-texturing and excessive detailing. Usually artists don't do it, they try to show texture from big forms to smaller accents to create nice, balanced composition. With this AI style, it is very easy to be overwhelmed by the clutter.

And also yellow filter

18

u/tony-toon15 1d ago

I learned that shit from how to draw comics the marvel way by Stan Lee.

27

u/Upset-Nose-4016 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's basically this(but applied to different styles). I would say over-cluttering can look okay when it's on small scale, but people often use AI for complex, heavy-detailed backgrounds, and visually it ends up being overwhelming

16

u/tony-toon15 1d ago

Precisely. The human eye can only take in so much.

8

u/WeirdistBuilds 21h ago

I mean it takes in everything. Your brain just filters out a lot and fills in a lot to save on processing power.

3

u/Newfiecat 23h ago

Dang, this is really legit useful advice 👌

1

u/bokmcdok 18h ago

I learned it from playing Minecraft

19

u/Armoric701 23h ago

I hate how grainy or crunchy these images have looked lately. You see it a lot on the images that are posters for things.

Not sure why they think max visual clutter is the most appealing thing.

7

u/Dyea_B_Tis 23h ago

Also, there is no way of telling what the positive space is and what the negative is.

6

u/fungi_at_parties 14h ago

Detail everywhere. Noisy as fuck. When I make a painting in an impressionistic style, I focus on detail in places I want you to look, the rest is more loose. AI makes everything uniform, from detail distribution to paint strokes. It adds detail everywhere, giving it a weirdly unnatural “too perfect” look. And AI also tends to make things dark, like coffee has spilled on it. It does color and contrast in a way I’d describe as… sickening? I don’t know how else to phrase it. Disgusting? It just always looks gross, literally. Like you said, filthy.

-3

u/Diligent_Bar1244 1d ago

Midjourney looks good

Most Ai bros are cheap as fuck and just refuse to pay 10 dollars a month

99

u/RhododendronWilliams 1d ago

"I never thought I would be a children's author" - and you're still not. You wrote a few prompts for AI.

28

u/Distant-moose 16h ago

For 15 pages! Dude couldn't write 15 freaking pages?

6

u/nineraviolicans 15h ago

Anybody who would consider that a book definitely can't.

3

u/thisholyroller 7h ago

Because "for children" translates to "mindless and low effort" in a huge part of that scumbag industry.

63

u/dum_spir0_sper0 1d ago

Grok, make me a cover for my book that reminds people of Harry Potter but also has my stupid face taking up the entire lower third.

28

u/MrVeazey 23h ago

"And make it stomach-churning in a very subtle, almost indefinable way."

8

u/hirsutemisanthrope 22h ago

It failed on the "subtle" part

51

u/Muffinshire 1d ago

The fact the “author” even managed to misspell their ridiculous pen-name tells us everything we need to know.

21

u/PaladinAsherd 1d ago

Yeah what the fuck is up with the pen name

Is he really just that delusional to think prompting an LLM somehow amounts to “maximum effort” that “noon[e]” can outdo?

1

u/doppelgaengster 6h ago

No, see, I know Noon. And he can totally outdo that jerk Maximumeffort.

1

u/rimjob2013 15h ago

My first thought in looking at it is that the book is a parody of shitty AI books, and having the author's image and ridiculous name on it is just part of the joke, but maybe I'm wrong.

2

u/PaladinAsherd 4h ago

What’s scary for me is that it really could plausibly go either way

41

u/mrmickeyrossi 1d ago

Noon Can Out Do
Maxi Mum Effort

4

u/Johnnys-In-America 22h ago

Yeah! I mean, that goes without saying! Lol

1

u/MyGrandmasCock 14h ago

THAT IS A MADE UP NAME!!!WHAT IS YOUR REEEEEEAL NAME?!?!

44

u/BallantineTheBard 1d ago

"Some stories don't last... But they light up the world forever." Dumbest shit I'll read today. The stories that light up the world forever are the ones that do last, that's why they light it up forever! If they lit it up forever they would last! If the story doesn't last then how do you think it'll keep lighting the world?? Jfc, that tagline alone makes me so irrationally angry.

19

u/IdleSitting 1d ago

It's classic AI bullshit, shit that sounds profound/looks good until you look at it for any second longer and realize it's empty nothings

3

u/Lopsided_Package9033 22h ago

Came here to comment this too.

3

u/Distant-moose 16h ago

No, I think the anger is quite rational.

2

u/Key_Conversation8617 4h ago

I guess “short but sweet” is too cliche for ai so they have to make up crap

25

u/Dyea_B_Tis 1d ago

“Ignore the haters.” 🤡

9

u/Gravybone 22h ago

Once you ignore the haters, the silence is deafening

21

u/TheGardenBlinked 1d ago

Imagine using AI to create the ideal self portrait for your book (for some reason) and making yourself look like you stink like you haven’t bathed in eight years

62

u/MC_Fap_Commander 1d ago

Took five years. Made it themselves with limited resources and skills, but created it through real, actual work. Inexplicably a box office hit.

Be the mom making something real with her son.

19

u/JustFourLetters 1d ago

inexplicably? it has a heartwarming backstory and it’s funny if even unintentionally.

8

u/bokmcdok 18h ago

Its like The Room. Objectively its a terrible movie, but the fact that its a passion project is what gives it its charm. Everyone involved put effort into its production and it shows, even if it comes out unintentionally funny rather than serious.

1

u/Impossible-Year-5924 11h ago

What is this called?

3

u/Luckydaikon 8h ago

Niu Lai (牛来)

16

u/sachiprecious 1d ago

"I never thought I would be a children's author."

You still aren't. Authors are people who actually write.

15

u/SeparateYam7613 1d ago

Is the title AI generated as well, because it sounds like incoherent bullshit

10

u/HandsomePaddyRedux 23h ago

It definitely sounds like the result of a prompt like “A children’s book title that suggests a fun otherworldly experience as seen from the viewpoint of a young impoverished child”.

4

u/DeadPeanutSociety 20h ago

It says a story of "wobblers" which usually means a crime that can be a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the context and severity lol

16

u/tomcat1483 1d ago edited 1d ago

WTF is “wobbly” in this context?

Edit autocorrect messed with “wobbly”

6

u/FalenAlter 1d ago

"wobbly"*

And same

5

u/Sea_Cook_806 19h ago

The International Workers of the World, of course! The Wobblies were due for a comeback after a century of obscurity….

11

u/ShvettyBawlz 1d ago

lol absolute shite.

9

u/Strict_Wolf76 1d ago

Standing on the shoulders of giants to call himself tall. Sadly people really think that all of the stolen art and writings used to feed these engines they are using isn’t somehow a form of plagiarism. I don’t get it.

19

u/Child_of_Crake 1d ago

Hate to break it to you guy, you’re still not a children’s author.

Also, stay away from my kids

7

u/Pure_Complaint_7900 1d ago

The cuh who prompted it at the least, Cuh.

6

u/Detuned_Clock 1d ago

I was cuhing on the cuh waiting for Cuh. Cuh finally arrived and said cuh, how long you been cuhing for me cuh? Cuh said cuh, I been cuhing all night cuh...

Buy now to read more!

8

u/Wing_Sharp 1d ago

Ugh I hate that ai has taken on this lumpy look lately

6

u/soupalex 1d ago

"written" and "illustrated" by… "noon canout do ma xi mumef fort"?

4

u/BizSilver5013 1d ago

"The Wobble Heart of South Peter" sounds like a porn title.

2

u/CycadelicSparkles 22h ago

My exact thought was "that title sounds really inappropriate for a children's book".

6

u/Mrbuttboi 1d ago

Peter, what is this?

9

u/Not_So_Utopian 1d ago

Its like buying a diploma on the internet to pretend you are a doctor, Lois.

7

u/igniz13 1d ago

WTF is a Wobble? MFer talks about it like it means something.

And a South Peter? This sounds like someone who doesn't have English as their first language who doesn't realise their spouting nonsense.

3

u/68plus1equals 17h ago

Your heart will never wobble like South Peter's does bro.

4

u/Pure_Fault7056 1d ago

He’s on a list, I bet.

2

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

Sex Offender Publishing

5

u/Stock-Lion-6859 1d ago

This is definitely the worst thing I've seen in a while.

5

u/Krasdale79 1d ago

It's never too late in life to show people what an uncreative turd you are!!!

4

u/GayGeekInLeather 1d ago

I feel like this has to be satire but I also don’t like people using aislop to satirize aislop.

5

u/lovable_asshole 1d ago

what the fuck is a wobble heart?

4

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Great, someone who uses AI to express his mirth for pedophilia.

4

u/Alarming-Highway-584 1d ago

Apparently Noon cannot out do maximum effort with this minimal effort slop.

4

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

Soulless husk thinks all there is to being an author is having an idea then asking AI to write it.

3

u/FalenAlter 1d ago

WTF is a wobbler

4

u/MrVeazey 1d ago

Why does everything look like it's made of bugs? Even the guy's face is a mass of tiny tumors.

3

u/riverbucca 23h ago

Based on his responses on Threads, I'm confident the whole thing is rage bait.

3

u/OtakuWorldOrder 23h ago

Fifteen pages, huh? I can see how that would totally sap your creativity.

Assuming the AI didn't create that too.

3

u/sam_beat 23h ago

Why does AI love little hearts so much? Also, South Peter sounds like a nickname for a penis. I don’t want my kids anywhere near the wobbling of a South Peter.

3

u/Grand-Connection-244 22h ago

I too scared to ask what a wobbler is

3

u/Playful-Cream1279 21h ago

That's the worst book title I think I've ever heard.

3

u/Physical_Sun_6014 21h ago

“I never thought I would be a children’s author”

Don’t worry, you still aren’t.

3

u/macguyver3000 19h ago

Noonecanoutedo maximimeffort

FFS

3

u/Legitimate_Poetry897 14h ago

AI users pick a consistent art style challenge, level: impossible

2

u/RoguePlanet2 1d ago

This has GOT to be a joke.

2

u/LesserValkyrie 23h ago

It looks litteraly like shit

2

u/dirtdiggler67 23h ago

The inside is probably written by ai as well

2

u/Evening-Tomatillo-47 23h ago

Hopefully this is satire

I don't have much hope, but still

2

u/Ok_Lengthiness_8405 23h ago

This is a joke, right?

...right?

2

u/near_black_orchid 22h ago

Ron Weasley really went downhill after he stole Harry's glasses and grew a beard.

2

u/Ill-Dependent2976 22h ago

Is he a scat fetishist?

That's the impression that I get.

2

u/pamplemouss 22h ago

Why does it look like AI food?

2

u/cha0sb1ade 21h ago

This style of AI where they try to make things more detailed but it's just adding a bunch of weird mottled patterns on top of everything is my least favorite AI tell. So obnoxious.

2

u/Feanor4godking 21h ago

What does any of that mean

2

u/MelonPulter 19h ago

My respect for Peter has gone South.

2

u/dreamado 19h ago

This looks like poop from a butt

2

u/Remarkable_Rough_649 19h ago

So was 15 pages like what the AI would give him for free before he has to pay for it

2

u/Wren_wood 17h ago

Oh yea I saw that thread, dude posted the entire 15 pages he "wrote". Basically there's two friends and then one of them fucking dies, so the other friend goes to that hill to cry but then he and the hill also fucking die. That's it, thats the story.

1

u/edgeoftheatlas 9h ago

Fucking what.

2

u/ideeek777 16h ago

almost feels like satire with the ai name

2

u/blue_moon1122 15h ago edited 15h ago

man's thread account went from "as a photographer, I'm not gonna listen to anything I learned from others" to this. buddy's using the plagiarism machine to pretend he doesn't need anybody, and going "lalalalala I'm not listening" to pretend he accomplished something.

can't even find the book for sale to figure out what this gobbledygook is supposed to be about. does the little trash heap monster have muscular dystrophy or something? is that why it's wobbly?

someone please confirm he's a satirist

2

u/fungi_at_parties 15h ago

This is why non-artists shouldn’t use AI to make art. What a pile of garbage.

2

u/ryadias 14h ago

“maximumeffort” sure…💔

2

u/Da_Magical_Lizard 14h ago

This this is so yellow and reeks of Narcissism

2

u/Hawkatana0 12h ago

Holy fucking ratio.

2

u/Electrical_Fault_365 11h ago

God I hope Rowling sees this.

2

u/AlarmingStatement371 20h ago

Why is NOONE pointing out that this post and OOPs ENTIRE account is obviously satire

1

u/blue_moon1122 15h ago

I can only fucking hope so with that photography post, but there's so much slop I'm wondering if he's just off the deep end

1

u/mah29001 1d ago

I would still examine the book first for errors. Then recommend to get a proper publisher when necessary. It’s only a temporary visual, but NOT the visual.

1

u/alphagalgadot 1d ago

this turned me into north peter ngl

1

u/Chilled_Beef 23h ago

I too am a hater and this slop is shit. Also, it’s Threads. The only place that could make Twitter seem like an academic institution.

1

u/Ever_More_Art 23h ago

Well he can certainly dream…

1

u/sp00ky0ak 23h ago

It looks like it's completely soaked in piss...

1

u/Afraid_Juice_7189 23h ago

What about North Peter?

1

u/Wickerman_22 23h ago

Bait, this isn't even a real book. It's a meme.

1

u/cademalanestopfan 23h ago

Thee cover looks so dirty dude

1

u/CycadelicSparkles 22h ago

The Whatnow of Where?

That cover is so bad it almost circles back around to art. Wtf lol

1

u/Mudcat-69 22h ago

“Use every tool in the toolbox”

Use the right tool for the right job is a saying for a reason. If you use AI as a proofreading tool then you’re using it correctly, if you use it to write the whole damn book you’re not using it correctly.

1

u/Classic_Cow_5852 22h ago

This looks funny bad. I’d read it if it’s available for free

1

u/No_Recipe2682 21h ago

Am I crazy, is that not Matt watson

1

u/Minimum_Rook 20h ago

The toxic sludge from Half-life and Portal:

1

u/Junoscavern 19h ago

You can tell he goaded chatgpt into blowing WAYYYYY too much smoke up his ass about how good this is lmao

1

u/xXSoyBoyFredXx 18h ago

Honestly this one actually makes me sad. It's sad he thinks he can't do something himself and feels like he needs a generator to do his dreams for him.

1

u/Steve-Shouts 15h ago

How does everyone know that he didn't write the contents, and only used AI for the cover image? Is everyone reading an excerpt somewhere that I am not seeing?

1

u/reddiwhip999 12h ago

Wobblies? The labor union founded by Eugene Debs (among others) in Chicago in the early 1900s? Huh. Pretty heady stuff for kids...

1

u/Darknadoswastaken 10h ago

More like written and illustrated by chatgpt

1

u/iesamina 5h ago

phrases that ai slop has made unbearable:

"Chase your dreams"

"Bring your stories to life"

1

u/Sparkpad 5h ago

With a name like Nooncanoutdo Maximumeffort, this has to be a joke.

1

u/ProblemPrior9607 4h ago

Quit blurring the name, bring back shaming others for doing shit like this

1

u/TortaPounduh 4h ago

Looks like diarrhea

1

u/Fun-Sugar-394 4h ago

Is it just me or is the strangest part of this, the fact that he's put his face front and center. (I don't actually know for a fact it's his face but I'd be willing to bet some money that it is)

1

u/dull_storyteller 4h ago

Just because you can put a ready meal in a microwave doesn’t make you a chef.

1

u/Nishwishes 4h ago

What a load of crap.

1

u/FatherofGray 2h ago

This has to be a poe. There's simply no way anyone can be so lacking in self awareness.

1

u/Middle_Tax7636 2h ago

You've gotta be high to censor stuff this way, seriously

1

u/ctcourt 2h ago

I self published a book and I’d never once consider putting my face on the cover

1

u/Middle_Tax7636 2h ago

You've gotta be high to censor stuff this way, seriously.

1

u/PsychicFoxWithSpoons 2h ago

quick question, what is meant by "Some stories don't last, but they light up the world forever?" At first I just went past it like it's a pithy quote, but it's actually kind of confusing me. Also, it sounds like a testimonial about the book, but it's placed as though it's a blurb describing the plot.

1

u/PsycheAsHell 2h ago

I dont think Ive ever seen an actual author of a children's book take up 1/3 of the cover with their own face.

1

u/nytefox42 2m ago

You're still not an author, dude.
