Midwest (USA) Missing Whey Protein?

It's been about 2 weeks and my store has yet to restock with normal protein powder, all it has is that clear watermelon that I refuse to try.

I’m hoping it’s like a few things this year and they’re just changing the packaging (and probably tweaking the formula) because this has been my go-to powder for years and also the cheapest.

I'm on Wegovy and need to hit my protein macros and I'm getting really tired of having to circle back every couple days to get the single serving 4 pack.

I would order some Premier Protein from Amazon or Sam's/Costco if you have one, it's more expensive than Aldi tubs I am sure, but cheaper per drink than those four packs. 

I am also on Semaglutide, and Premier Protein is my go to. Sam's has some sales on it right now which was badly needed with the price spikes this hear on protein products. They also have a new line with some added fiber which is nice too.

The bags are used for the limited edition flavors like Oatmeal cookie and Peanut butter chocolate. Tubs for reg vanilla and chocolate

It’s probably the margins on whey are terrible right now with whey prices. If it’s no longer Aldi affordable people will buy it elsewhere.

Me, too. I hate most protein drinks, because they're always a sorta milkshake. I don't really like milkshakes that much, and I prefer savory foods. I do like the clear-ish fruit protein drinks more than vanilla chalk water .

Aldi worker here. It’s not been discontinued. A lot of our products have had this happen. It could be unavailable for one reason or another. From a repackaging to supply chain issues.

When it comes back in stock, take a scoop with about 6 oz of water and two tablespoons of chia seeds and mix it/shake it up together and leave it overnight. Maybe even less water, I just eyeballed it.

It tastes like a vanilla pudding cup from when we were kids. Good dessert, decent breakfast.

There will be a little weird film from the chia but you can mix that back in or scrape it off.

Also peeved about this. The chocolate peanut butter flavor is my fave, haven’t seen it at my store in months. Reluctantly bought the watermelon one today just to have something but super annoyed

That flavor is a LTO like oatmeal cookie and strawberry. the only constantly available flavors are vanilla and chocolate. Hoping they bring it back soon their vanilla is my absolute favorite!

Missing from mine too 😭. I bought Ascent vanilla from Costco and while it’s good (and actually cheaper)….its not the same and I miss my Aldi protein.

Whey protein has unfortunately gotten expensive so that may be why they are limiting it to seasonal flavors. My price points used to be $5-6/lb and 30g of serving to 24-25g of protein. Now I’m happy to just get some for $10/lb
