Random Question 💭 Tucker Carlson just dropped a nuclear warning, saying any president who actively considers first-use of nuclear weapons should be removed from office immediately. With Trump publicly threatening to hist Iran hard, is Carlson right to sound the alarm, or is this just more MAGA-on-MAGA panic theater?

Random Question 💭 What makes the green line the future border of the State of Palestine?

the green line was created in 1949 after an armistice between Israel and the arab countries in the first arab-israeli war, the arab countries explicitly said that the line was strictly a military ceasefire line rather than a political boundary, but now they keep insisting that it's a border, why?

Random Question 💭 What is the scariest thing that someone has said to you?

Mine was when I was walking on a trail with my high school boyfriend. I joked asking if we were going to see a dead body and with hesitation, he said, “yea, yours”!

He said he was just teasing but I was terrified in that moment. We didn’t date very long!

Random Question 💭 The U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28, killing Iran’s supreme leader and triggering a six-month war that has blocked the Strait of Hormuz through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil once flowed…?

Now with Trump vowing to hit them again after a month-long lull, was this war inevitable or did Netanyahu trick Washington into it as Iran’s foreign minister now claims?

Random Question 💭 Would Flock & Data Center Proliferation be Covered Differently by Media Research if this all was Occurring Under a Democratic Administration?

In all the talk about media bias being “left wing” it feels odd that the right, even and especially MAGA that was once high QANON conspiracy adjacent, doesn’t rail more against these two things.

“The Surveillance State” - if it walks like a duck…

Do you think it would be covered differently under Dems? If so what would the GOP narrative sound like?

Advice Question 💭 Constant stomach pain for 2 years. Why????

Upvotes

Ive posted this on a couple subreddits but im in pain NOW so need advice on what to do and why😭. Also soz if im rambling, it just really hurts and this week has been the worst for it.

So for the past week, every single time i eat ive been getting sick. Like i will have a meal and then an hour later, ill have to throw up.

Ive actually had this kinda for the past 2 years. I thought for a while that i developed lactose intolerance or something because i noticed that it got especially worse when i had dairy products so i basically cut off milk and cheese but icl i do sometimes have some chocolate.

However, i think the issue is maybe oil? I genuinely dont know. I get ill from: Crisps, Any sort of batter, Chicken wings, any fast food, basically anything that isnt a salad.

Recently, i moved into a new apartment and ive been having mostly pasta in different forms (Bolognaise, pesto, etc) but i spruce it up with veggies and stuff.

Either way though, my stomach pains have been getting SO bad. I just had dinner and i actually made myself a fried rice (but i added chilli oil which maybe was the issue). I will eat a meal and ill feel so horrible like ill have to sit in a fetal position holding my tummy and for the past 2 days, i threw up after eating.

I do fast, and eat only dinner and sometimes lunch but ive done this for years and years and i dont think thats the issue. I get it even when i eat full meals for all my meals it just still happens.

ALSO im literally asian and grew up with loads of oils and curries and everything so it doesnt make any sense to me why oil would suddenly be an issue?

Whats going on? If you need more info i can provide in comments and tysm.

Ps: laying in bed with now clutching my stomach because it hurts so much and is making noises like crazy

Advice Question 💭 How do I make a moving timeline graphic to put on a website?

I volunteer for a non-profit that is having its 25th anniversary, and they wanted a timeline to put on their website showing the major things that they have done.

I thought it would be good to have a graphic that moves automatically so people don't have to scroll to see each poibf, but rather it just shows everything automatically if you stay on the website.

Random Question 💭 Why do so many mods allow their subs to get taken over by politics and political content seemingly pretty much unrelated to the original "spirit" of the sub?

Upvotes

The best example I have is that the FauxMoi sub's top post of all time is not pop culture related or even pop culture adjacent, its literally just a clip from a House Committee Hearing. Its not just them, the Millenials (with one "n") sub is like that, pics, Me_IRL, and ever since SipsTea did away with the no politics rule they've basically become a completely different sub

I know "politics touches everything" and blah blah about the world and everything else being political etc...

But, a lot of these subs just allow any political content even if its 100% off topic. Which then becomes the dominant theme of the sub and eventually there's very little content relevant to the sub's intended purpose

Why is this?

One of the first treaties signed by George Washington and ratified by congress. We are not to disturb lake Ontario.

Article IV. The United States having thus described and acknowledged what lands belong to the Oneidas, Onondagas, Cayugas, and Senecas, and engaged never to claim the same, nor to disturb them, or any of the Six Nations, or their Indian friends residing thereon and united with them, in the free use and enjoyment thereof: Now the Six Nations, and each of them, hereby engage that they will never claim any other lands within the boundaries of the United States; nor ever disturb the people of the United States in the free use and enjoyment thereof
