Hey yall! My name is Nick, I'm from Houston, TX, and I make music under the name echoverie. This is an album I recorded a few weeks back and wanted to share. It's 42ish minutes of reverb-drenched guitar chord loops with improvised "lead" parts played over it. Each track is the first and only take: recorded, mixed, and mastered over the span of less than 3 hours. Major inspiration for this is Robin Guthrie's solo music and similar ambient guitarists like Jeff Pearce, and in general I wanted this to be something that people can put on in the background for sleep(of course), work, studying etc. Recorded in my spare bedroom with my '96 old Squier bullet strat, an acoustic simulator, a chorus, two delays, and two reverbs, going into a Peavey Classic 100 4x12 combo amp, miced with a Shure SM58. In Logic, some minor EQ, another reverb, and a simulated distortion pedal blended at 1% for just a touch of white noise. I've always loved making sounds similar to this, but with my main band (a doom/shoegaze project) I haven't really had the space to incorporate this the way I wanted to, so finally just decided to record and release something. So many great albums by Schulze, hard to pick "a" favorite to be honest but this one is top 5 for me (maybe even top 3). Found an extra copy in good condition for only 13€ last month :-)

Anyone know why this is printed on plastic? Is it a promo thing/ from a vinyl? Or is it just printed on plastic nothing special lol. Without light behind it it looks normal, I was just showing the material.

Could you please listen to both because I hear some similarities (or Houle sampling Diedlonley). Please listen to the "Edit" version of Outside by Houle

I’m sure there are plenty of Tarentel fans in here, whether through their work or through the work of their founder, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. They have a few projects that are long ambient pieces but this definitely isn’t one of them, though for just about every track of abrasive guitar effects and relentless drumming, there is an ambient track to put you at ease, if only temporarily

hello! I’m really captivated with the ambient / classical crossover sections of the Odyssey OST particularly Sirens, Ithaca and the beatless sections of Odysseus. I particularly love the textures of the instruments used and the range of dissonance while still being melodic. Melancholy, mournful, cathartic.

It moves me in a similar way to Nils Frahm - Them which is one of my favourite pieces of music (particularly the scratchy dissonant strings)

Id be really grateful for any suggestions along these lines.

I was never a huge fan of 36 because most of his output sounded kinda "samey" to me but this new album floored me completely. First, its not an ambient album in traditional structure of long drones and soundscapes. It is a homage to '90s jungle and hardcore pirate radio stations so it is basically a sonic collage of sounds reminiscent of that period in time. It is an "ambient jungle" album i guess, if you gotta put it in a box. Also it was released on Auxiliary by ASC who is ofcourse known in both Ambient and Drum and Bass worlds. I am just enjoying this so much that I wanted to share in case someone is looking forward for ambient music which hits a bit differently.

I’m looking for an experienced composer who is available to start right away to create the original score for my independent psychological horror feature film, Daniel, the Goodboy.

The film is 1 hour and 26 minutes long and blends surrealism, magical realism and modern-day fantasy. It isn’t strictly a horror film, but it carries a dark, unsettling atmosphere.

I’m looking for music that feels timeless—something that doesn’t clearly belong to a particular decade or era. The score should work as a subtle but powerful layer beneath the film, flowing through the subconscious of the audience rather than constantly demanding their attention.

I have used ambient music as temp music because it captured the timeless quality I’m looking for, but the final score does not necessarily need to be ambient.

Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce you to Vodnick's first album - Graduation Tower

This material was partially recorded on analog synths and sampled live instruments in health resort at Cieplice in Poland. It was both a family trip as well as artistic retreat.

There were no plans on what type of music would come out of it. The idea began to take shape when a new habit of visiting the local graduation tower has taken hold.

For those who don't know what it is - it's a construction packed with branches soaked with a saline solution which is constantly dripping. It creates a salty breeze which should be slowly inhaled. Tower hums, imitating rain.

It was a spark of inspiration which led to this album. Tower has been recored and included in albums soundscape.

Water became the key to every instrument. Lots of plucking, dripping, tapping. In the end, every day of the stay had one song. It became a sort of a journal taking bits and pieces of the daily routine in the resort. Street performer playing on handpan, Sunday church bells, a passing britzka.

Thoughts on Voices?

Only recently discovered this album after listening to Pearl by Budd and Eno which led me to Voices so yeah love Voices start to finish which definitely makes me wanna discover more of Roger’s work besides Atmospheres from Brian and Roger:)

Awesome compilation from 1994 offering 2.5 hours of bliss.
Definately one that needs more attention imho, the bands and projects on it are top notch.
