Discussion Y700 charging question

Hello.

I recently purchased an 8 GEN 1 Y700, and when I use the port that is down when you hold it vertically, it doesn't charge if I use an over 100 W charger. The charger works correctly with other devices, but not with this one with this port. The other port works normally, and when I use a max 100W charger, everything works properly.

Every charger is UGREEN, GaN, tested with other phones and 2 Legion Go.

Charger 1: https://amzn.eu/d/0emC8TO

Charger2: https://amzn.eu/d/08xUTgTH

Charger 3: https://amzn.eu/d/00gFDfCP

Does anyone know why?

Compatibility issues with chargers are common, so I’m not surprised. I always use the included charger.

Yea I had this problem not all chargers and wires will work perfectly with all devices you'll have to play around a bit with different combinations

Try cleaning inside your USB-C connector. With a toothpick or thin pliers. Had the same issue multiple times with phones.

Bur it happens with only one charger, which is weird.

Yes, it's probably not that but it worth the try. It could be a more sensible communication with this charger

Had a similar issue. It turned out to be the cable I was using. Another cable kept dropping the fast charging. Bought a different cable off Amazon and haven't had an issue since.

my problem wasn't the charger but the cable, I got a new pair of cables off of amazon that are rated for more power / faster transfer and I haven't had an issue since. even works with my laptop.

Max power output doesn't tell you everything about a charger. You need to look at the voltages it can negotiate. Most chargers will support 5V/9V/12V. But after a quick search, it looks like your tablet requires 11V, so this could explain why one charger doesn't work while others do

Thia is interesting. One of the chargers, the one with the plug included, works with some USB c ports, but nit with others.

I have the same issue.. I think the weight of the USB cable is messing up the port.. when charging the tablet laying flat + cable has no tension, works fine for the most part..

Thought this was just me
