I've managed to save $10k. No one knows because a lot of my circle is struggling worse than I so I don't want to make anyone feel bad... Or have anyone ask me for money.

My ability to look at all sides of an argument

Blessing and a curse really.

I can sympathize broadly, which can make it difficult to make a decision if I'm the one having to hear all sides and determine which way to go

All of the work I've done to overcome trauma, abuse, and the related lingering mental health issues.

People don't see it. They only ever see the few times when it all comes through the cracks a little. But the amount of work it took to make every other day seen "normal" is def a thing I'm proud of.

My ability to make a decision.
So many people today can’t do this.

Fighting against my psychotic stalker everyday...in my own way. Taking small steps each day to use my God given free will. Working hard not to let my stalker dictate what I do and where I go.

Achieving inner peace after much therapy.

There is freedom when you don’t judge or care what other people do who live differently from you.

I will not give up my inner peace to gossip, drama, minor inconveniences or to judge. It is not worth it.

I come from a long line of terrible mothers. My grandma left my grandfather with 5 small kids, my mom left my dad with 3 small kids, little to no contact after. I am not perfect by any means, but I raised my daughter from the age of 6 months old all by myself. Put myself through school, got a good (enough) job that I love & bought a house in 2019. She's now 21 years old and we have the best relationship. If anything I learned what NOT to do as a mother, but I'm pretty proud of how great she turned out.

Not secretly proud, but my ability to perform in a crisis/unpredictable situation.

Calculating the problem and addressing the problem instead of the problems the problem is causing.

Flooding in the basement? Stop the water, then handle the cleanup.

It’s something I don’t want to have to use, but it is there when I need it so far.

I gently and repeatedly encouraged a friend not to give up on her doctoral thesis. She got it turned in by deadline and said she did it because of me.

That when I became sexually active, I got on and stayed on birth control because I knew having a kid was not in my plans any time soon and it was on me to make sure it didn’t happen. Now I’m 28, child free, still on birth control, and every red cent I make is mine.

My ability to step into nearly any role/task and with just a few minutes of minor instruction, be able to outperform those who are far more experienced in said role/task.

I’m lazy so I’ve never really tried to monetized it, but it makes me a hell of a handy friend to have around.

I’m not a worrier. It’s a wasted emotion that doesn’t help anything.

5

u/Yamallory 6h ago

Ooohhh, teach me!!!

2

u/bb_cowgirl 3h ago

The next time you’re worried about something just don’t worry about it.

u/Yamallory 2h ago

Do that affect your motivation in any way? For me, my stress is sometimes a motivating factor to get things done.

I’m proud of the work I do in my community to uplift other people, also I’ve never harmed anyone or been arrested, I’m very proud that I have no debt, and I’ve been able to live independently as a single person my entire life and I didn’t spawn any out of wedlock children.

I have a positive relationship with all of my teenagers (ages 14-18). Including my step teenagers. It takes work but it's worth it. They are great kids and I love 'em.

Managed to get a visa sponsored job at a very good company. Was a long and upward struggle, but the day I made it, it was an unreal feeling.

No one in my personal life knows that I started an international advocacy network that assists in advocating for justice for missing and murdered people and spreads awareness of their cases. We have over 700 cases we assist with and have helped generate tips leading to progress and resolution for numerous cases.

Not giving in to my intrusive thoughts/suicidal ideation. I’ve been very, very close a few times where I had tied things around my neck and watched my face and eyes turn shades of red and purple. Then something like remembering the sound of my mom crying when I told her I found my father dead. They had been divorced 16 years and she sounded like that? What’s going to happen when it’s her (now adult) child?

u/harrycobean34 5h ago

If I told you it would no longer be a secret

My ability to explain words to my seven year old. He was evaluated for an iep and had a high school vocabulary in kindergarten and I think that at least partially came from me

I was in a band for 4 years during college. Never massive but played to 500-600 people every second week with a nice little fanbase. While we never “made it” I’m super proud of the awesome music we made, the buzz of all those gigs and for doing something creative

Always something I look back on roundly and proudly

You don't have to believe me of course but I have a psychic ability and I have premonitions. When I went out for drinks with my Brother and my Sister in Law we left her Brother who has a few health problems at home as he doesn't really like going out. Anyway while out I had a vision of him falling and hitting his head on the coffee table. I told my Brother we have to go back to the house NOW. He listened when I basically dragged them back to the house and we found him fitting on the floor. The Doctors said if we had found him later he would have died. He was in a coma for 3 weeks and pulled through.

Learned to laugh at my own self in public - sustain the gaze of an audience in improv.

After being shunned by my family and narcissist parents because i failed at everything, i married a violent drunk, had a child and then divorced.

I went back to school to better my opportunities. Found a great job, met a good man and married him.

Then i found out i was seriously autistic the whole time. The breakdowns and burn outs ive experienced my whole life was torture. Its unfathomable how i lived through all that.

Now Im a hippee hermit living out in the country. I want no part of society.

I have reached what I call the Fuck you age. It means I no longer care what anyone think about me, my clothes, car, music taste etc. It is such a nice thing
