Hi guys! My school recommends taking honors physics before C rather than ap 1 so that is what I did. I have a test over physics c unit 1 of kinematics and we have not learnt anything in class!

My teacher has only gone over differentiations and integrations which make sense but after taking the progress check I have realized i’m missing a huge chunk of physics and concept understanding. does anyone have any good conceptual resources that could help? Should I use physics 1 resources (w/o math parts) for this? any reccomendations? someone pls help!!

For reference, I’m a high school senior and I want to take physics 2 because the course content sounds interesting. The teacher said I’ll be fine, but I’ve heard the class is hard. I’ve taken Calc Bc and chem but does anyone know if physics 2 is hard relative to physics 1?

For the first question, it is asking which one of the answers is wrong. For option A, I am confused as to why shortening the focal length would increase the magnification. If you have one object in between f and c, the object will be magnified. If the focal length is shortened, the object may be outside c, leading to the image being smaller than the object. Is there something that I'm misunderstanding? Option B is obviously wrong because the image made by the eyepiece would be virtual, enlarged, and flipped. I am confused by option C because I think it is also false. If the object is after f, the image created by the objective would be flipped. The image would only be roughly the same size if the object was close to c(center of curvature). Option D is correct because the image formed by the objective is between O and f of the eye piece. For the second question, A is correct as having the image created by the objective land at 2f(or c) will invert the image whilst maintaining its size. Option B is wrong because the diverging lens will just create a smaller, virtual image shifted to the right. Option C is wrong because the objective would create a virtual image to the left of the objective. This would then cause the eyepiece to further shrink the image, making it unideal for a telescope. Option D is wrong because it wouldn't fix the problem of the inverted image. Another problem I have with this image is how it would form an image in the first place. The image created by the objective seems to appear at the focal length of the eye piece, would an image even appear?

With these two converging lens, if you use the diverging lens formula, the image created by the objective lens will at a distance of f(focal length) to the right of the objective lens. The image will also be inverted. My confusion stems from what the eyepiece would do. If the image were created between O and f, the image created would be virtual, enlarged, and be father away. However, I don't think that this question gives any information as to where the image created by the objective will be. Am I supposed to assume the location given that it's a telescope or is there something that I am missing?

​I'm a high school student currently self-studying for regional-level Physics Olympiad tasks. Here is where I'm currently at:

- ​I have flashcards with all the key formulas and I know them well.

- ​When I read a problem, I can usually identify the physical process happening and recall the relevant formulas.

- ​My main roadblock: I get completely stuck when trying to set up the very first step/equation using the given information. And when I do manage to finish a calculation, my result is often wrong, which is extremely frustrating.

​For those who have successfully tackled Olympiad-level physics:

​How did you overcome this "mental block" between knowing formulas and actually setting up the initial equations?

​What study approach worked best for you? (Working through problems with official solution guides open, or spending hours grinding through them completely alone?)

​How do you stay motivated when Olympiad problems feel overwhelmingly difficult?

I kind of suck at math plus my teacher omg he just teaches so quickly. He doesn't go in-depth and teaches like he assumes that we already have baseline knowledge which none of us have. Any tips on AP Physics 1 Unit 1?

I’m going to be a junior this year and AP physics 1 will be my first AP class. I have taken several honors classes in the past and I’m good at math. I've been told that AP physics 1 is one of the harder APs, especially as a first AP class. Am I totally screwed or will I be fine?

I am taking AP Physics C Mech. I have never taken a physics class before but i was supposed to take ap physics 1 and couldn't due to schedule conflicts. almost everyone in my class has taken ap physics 1 so i am already at a disadvantage

we took our first test and i got a 37. i studied monday-thursday for 2 hours every night and i felt like i understood the material.

hey! I took AP Physics 1 and combined math (precalc, alg2, trig, geo all at the same time) last year. This year I’m taking AP Physics C and calc BC, but my calc teacher is bad and slow and everyone just hopes she retires. im self studying for ap physics 1 this year and i want to know the BEST tips and advice to genuinely understand the concepts, formulas, and do my VERY BEST on the ap exam and hopefully get a 5! (i completed math all the way up to precalc so far (currently in calc as a sophomore))

I’m a high school senior deciding between AP Physics C: Mechanics (just mechanics I’m pretty sure) and Honors Physics. I have no prior physics experience, but my school expects that for most seniors entering the class. I took Honors Pre Calc last year and found it pretty manageable, and I’m taking AP Calculus AB concurrently. My science background is Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, and AP Biology, all with A’s and relatively manageable workload (difficult but not insane). For anyone who took Physics C with no prior physics while taking calculus at the same time, how difficult was it and how heavy was the workload? Would you recommend it over Honors Physics, or does the difficulty outweigh the benefit? Don’t want an insane senior year either taking 3 other APs.

Hey guys I need advice, I am in physics 1 on 1-d kinematics, I have a quiz in 2 days which is all multiple choice and then a test 4 days after that which is multiple choice and FRQ. Can someone tell me the best study resources and youtubers, I hate flipping physics btw, he goes way to fast, and his classroom gimic is very annoying, it's hard to focus and he uses the "students" to give out key information and they kind of just say stuff without any substance, tell me if there is any good URP for this class and just yalls keys to success. Much appreciated.

I am doing drop test on an elastic body. I am not sure how to give end time. Is it calculated seperately or is it an assumption? The body is getting dropped from around 20 feet.
