Unsolved Dead pixels on iPhone 17
Found dead pixels on my iPhone 17 which is 8months old, took it to Apple and they told me the display will be replaced under warranty. My friends and family members are pushing me to ask for a full device replacement since it's a new phone and once they replace the screen it'll be shown in the settings which will again hamper the resale value of the phone and also casting doubts on its reliability in coming years. Any suggestions or if anyone has faced something like this let me know guys

Your friends and family are not giving you good device. An Apple repaired iPhone (screen replacement) is just as good as new. Whereas a full replacement from the Genius Bar is often replaced with refurbished/remanufactured phones. They’re still good phones, but I would personally only do a full replacement as a last resort over just replacing the screen.

If Apple said that they’ll replace the screen under warranty using genuine Apple parts, what makes you think that said repair will harm the resale value.
If said repair was done at some random shop using who knows what part, I could understand your logic but this simply isn’t the case.
Also , your friends and family members are wrong nor do you have the right to a new iPhone.
You’re definitely overthinking this.
Apple is doing what they’re supposed to do when a device is under warranty.
Simple as that.

Sooooo... I mean, that's all you have. Apple isn't going to give you more than you're covered for. They can replace the screen and the phone is essentially new again. They did the same with my mainboard. Feel lucky you don't have to get a brand new phone altogether, and have to re-setup everything.

It’s just a display. 17s are more repairable and with Apple trying to be carbon neutral the system will not just let them replace it with out catastrophic damage. Just get the screen fixed by Apple and move on.
