I'm visiting Yerevan with my boyfriend next week, and we are craving a delicious, authentic and traditional Armenian breakfast (think lavash, cheese, greens etc :) )

Last time I was in the country, I had lots of lovely breakfasts, but I don't remember where any of them were! But we want to try new places together, so please let me know your recommendations!

Recently the government has started talking about this idea of the "fourth republic" again, but this ideology or belief that is trying to be pushed doesnt make sense for a number of reasons.

For starters people in the current republic dont even see it as the third republic, they see it as the second, the first being the first republic in 1918. No body really says that the Armenian SSR was a republic, they see it as a part of the soviet union.

Pashinyan says that the current republic was founded on the logic of conflict, and that the fourth is founded on the logic of peace. However in my opinion the country wasnt founded on the logic of conflict, but on the victory of the 90s war. It wasnt until after that where nothing was done in the country is what led to more conflict. The fourth republic being founded on the logic of peace also doesnt make sense, its moreso "quietness" than actual peace, the August 2025 document isnt the actual peace treaty.

Another thing is that holding a consitutional change is extremely merky, Civil contract has 64 seats out of 105, which means they need to hold a referendum for a constitution change and its important to consider, just how many people would really vote in the referendum if they give into the demand of changing the part of the consitiution that mentions Artsakh.

The consitution refers to the declaration of independence, which then refers to the reunification of Armenia and Artsakh. This part entirely depends on perspective, from the perspective of a regular Armenian, it doesnt have a logic of conflict since Artsakh and Armenia are our homes. But from an international perspective it raises problems since the world recognizes the borders of Armenia and azerbaijan as what they recognize it as.

The current border delimitation has also shown that they can give and take territories while maintaining the number of the size. If you look at the delimited part of the border in Tavush, it is not the actual border line that you may see on google maps or any map, but its a new line that was agreed upon.

This also causes a problem with the "real Armenia" idea. If they can pick and chose which parts of the border are where as long as the size of the number stays the same, then what exactly is the "real Armenia?" Not to mention how the exclaves are another issue where they can chose to swap them after delimitation, but lets be honest azerbaijan wouldnt agree to that as their exclaves are politically more important than having Artsvashen, and there hasnt been any new sections being delimited as of right now.

I did everything to leave Russia 4 years and I really did everything in plan and so I could leave Russia with ready plan, but just recently because of seriuosly reasons like lack of laptop that suddenly happened and escalation in politics

I saw everything about Russia vs Ukraine war 4 years, I read every comments in r/worldnews, r/europe, r/ukraine, etc, some said even about camp like with japanese, I heard rumor about exit visa, second mobilisation and possibility of restrictions of leaving for all peoples, etc

Because of sky becoming dangerous, except airplane, this is possible to go to cars, but there no even train to Armenia, peoples in car is not trustworthy, in public transport this will be long

I just wanted to leave Russia soon and almost all in plan was done only to get something where I never will leave Russia forever by both side so my life will be ended because this is true that I am dying and peoples will see them as enemy, not peoples because anti war russians don't exist

I am so tired of everything what hapening in 4 years that I hate too much, in 2021 I already hated Russia very much and was kinda russohobic, i already wanted to leave Russia before war, why I should die?

Anyone know in case of danger of sky or closing of airplane, how I could go to Armenia because there no even train?

I (16m) recently learned that my grandma's great grandma was an armenian who assimilated. I also learned that my grandpa's great grandma was a turkmen, but that's unrelated.

My question is, does this information matter since it's so far back? Should I try to connect with my Armenian side, or so you think it's too little of a percent. I feel bad for my Armenian ancestors being forced to assimilate.

i'm in Yerevan in november and thinking about visiting the national opera and ballet theatre. It seems to have a very impressive repertoire. During my stay, they are showing the ballet Tamar by Valeri Tolstov. I can hardly find anything about this ballet online. Neither audio nor video. Has anybody seen it and can give me an idea what's it like? I'm not very knowledgeable about ballet so i'm not quite sure what information I'm looking for. Maybe just a general impression.

Hello everyone 🥰 I will be visiting Armenia (Yerevan, Goris and maybe Gyumri) in Sep. I have a bit of a problem, I cannot eat coriander. I’m not allergic, but I will have to either spit it out (which would be rude) or swallow that mouthful immediately with water and waste the rest of the dish because I cannot eat any more of it.

Please help! What are some “safe” dishes and “avoid” dishes? Trying the local food is an important part of my travel. I generally eat most other ingredients so coriander is the only problem. Well, maybe another one, I am travelling on my own and most dishes seem to be sharing size…

First off, I’m not entirely sure if this is the right subreddit for this question, so my apologies if it’s off-topic!

I’m planning a two week trip to Armenia from Germany. I rely on daily ADHD medication (Methylphenidate).

To prepare, I got an official medical certificate in English signed by my neurologist and officially validated by my local health authority. (This is the standard process for travelling within the Schengen area.)

My issue: I’ve been trying to contact the Armenian Embassy in Germany for days to confirm if this documentation is sufficient. My emails stayed unanswered, nobody answers the phone, and living far from Berlin makes visiting in person impossible.

Since Methylphenidate is a controlled substance, I want to ensure I don't run into legal trouble at the airport or while traveling the country. I would really appreciate if someone could share their experiences regarding following:

1. Is an officially stamped medical certificate enough, or does Armenia require special prior authorization/permits from their Ministry of Health for bringing in controlled substances?

2. What is the customs routine at Zvartnots Airport? Do red/green channels apply, and should I proactively declare the meds upon arrival?

3. Has anyone recently traveled to Armenia with Methylphenidate and can share their personal experience at border control?

Hi everyone, ill be visiting Armenia this month, beside a lot of nice places and my tight schedule, i need help planing my trip.

Ill be staying in Yerevan for 1 night, explore the city as much as i can, and next day i wanna travel to north and visit some places on the way.

I plan on stoping on Lake Sevan, then continue to Dilijan, and my final destination is Haghpat where i wanna spend one more night. How do i navigate the transport from Yerevan to Haghpat?
I dont wanna rent a car, and use public transport as much as i can, but from i read it can be tricky from Dilijan to Hagpath. Is taking taxi expensive, or is there some easier way to do it?

I know im rushing it, and maybe i can throw one more night in Armenia, but ill come back again and do it the right way, i promise!

Hey guys, I’m 15, and i’m having a hard time everything thinking about the fact that i’m going to have to serve military when i turn 18. I’m really not a fighter and don’t even know how to, i’m not the usual gangster wanna be teenagers you’d see but its not like i stand out, i dress normal, just like any other guy, i’m just not into those crowds and etc. Anyways, back to the topic, all my life i had been scared of military because i always heard people talking about the absurd things happening in the military. Bullying, aggression, fights especially and etc, it really put a fear in me since i was a kid. All i’m hearing about right now is soldiers killing themselves, every week, and i don’t know what is going on. How do i avoid military?
My parents don’t have to money to move me out or to pay it off, so i only can rely on myself and the only thing in my life that i can do the best is study. Or if i cant avoid it, how do i prepare for this?

I will be heading to Armenia for 6 nights in 2 weeks. I was wondering if someone could give good tips on any towns/regions outside Yerevan to see I am interested in niche places to see the real culture as well as potentially any towns that have a lot of persian influence/people i the south. I am planning to do just 2 nights in Yerevan as I always think it is best to the essence of a country outside the capital. I am also interested in urbex so any good abandoned towns/sites let me know. I made a video on the history of Turkey, near the end of the video I talk briefly about the genocide the ottoman empire perpetrated against the Armenian and Syriac peoples, I'm currently being bombarded with comments from (presumably) Turkish people denying the genocide. This is why I want to write a paper that gives definitive proof of what and how the genocide happened and add that to the video description. What are sources that I should use?
