After receiving feedback, I decided to go back to doing gesture drawings. Tbh I feel like I always struggled with gesture drawings (having to draw quickly) so I always gave up on it. But I decided to give it a try. I would appreciate any and all critique and advice. Each drawing individually took about 5 minutes or less.

I would love some criticism on if I have same-face syndrome. These are only a couple of my characters (actually they’re dragon OC’s human-ified) and the one with red-purple hair is a friend’s character! The second one from the left with blueish-grey hair is the son of the further most left and right characters, with no relation to the red-purple haired woman.

First of all, I have this OC (my sona, slightly based on me), who is a ghost (I love undead characters). In the previous (and first) design, I simply included random elements I liked (stitches, visible bones, etc.), but for some time now I’ve been thinking that, since she’s a ghost, I should find a specific cause of death and incorporate that into the design (for example, if she died in a fire, with burns; or if she was beheaded, carrying her head in her arms), rather than just adding random elements. I really like the water theme in character designs and such, so I decided she should have died by drowning and to reflect that in her design. The problem is, I can’t find any artistic references or character designs or OCs in that situation, and to be honest, I don’t really fancy looking up images of what a corpse that’s been in the water looks like. On the other hand, I tried searching online for descriptions of what they look like and so on, but I found almost nothing, and I don’t have enough imagination to visualise it properly. To be honest, I’m pretty much out of ideas. What do you think an undead character who died by drowning in water might look like in their design? What elements could be included in their design?

Her hair is curly, entirely inspired by my own (I just sketched the general shape, it’s been ages since I last drew anything, and I’ve hardly ever drawn curls). And her clothes and make-up are gothic/alternative. Or at least I’ve tried. It’s the sort of thing I like.

I wasn’t sure if this was the best subreddit to ask for recommendations, help or ideas. I’m sorry if it isn’t, and I’ll delete the post if that’s the case.

I think my reference has coily textured hair, but mine leans towards curly. and this was supposed to be lineart only, but if the only way i can capture the likeness of the reference is by coloring i will try that. i’d appreciate any help/advice 🙏

This is my first time posting. I was looking to get some advice and critiques regarding my art. I’ve included some pieces that I’ve done (all free) using acrylic paint and canvas. Ive done a couple other pet portraits but somehow never took a picture. I was thinking about possibly trying to open myself up to commissions but have no idea where/ how to start. Any advice is appreciated!

Whenever I draw angles like this, it looks like the legs are attached directly underneath the torso.

I have no idea how to make it look more three-dimensional.

Hello! I am working on this drawing (pencil crayon) and I thought I would post this here.

I just feel like it looks off, I've been fixating on the apple part for days and I feel like the coloring looks muddy? Also the shading in the eyes is throwing me off. I've been staring at this for so long idk what to think! Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

Using a simple artstyle, is this a good way to convey age? (Younger kid and young adult) Or if you saw them out of context would you not make these assumptions?

I don't have much experience with coloring, especially using colored pencils. I'd appeciate if anyone could point out a few things that don't look right, and ways to fix it. Also, it'd be nice to know what I'm already doing right so I can keep doing it.

So I used the upper right corner on the second image as a reference for the pose but I’m struggling to put clothing on the character and I can’t find good references I’m just trying to understand where to put the underwear and where the top placement should go I don’t mind people drawing over to help any advice would be awesome thank you.

Im pretty new to doing commissions and Ive priced these total 5 arts for 107Myr (in my currency) which is 27$ so means each is like $6

im not sure if I underpriced because im scared if i put higher prices no one would commission me🥲 When i was doing these arts it took me way longer than expected and im not sure how much to price it next time😭 Any advice guys?

(Just to add some context, the client requested several changes to the character's body proportions after rendering especially making them slimmer. Some of the anatomy ended up looking a bit off because of those revisions. I’m aware anatomy is something I still need to improve on, but I also wanted to explain the context behind the final result 😭
