I have inherited a rather large stamp collection and I don’t know where to start.

A lot of it is WWII-1960s stuff but there is also a great deal of early 1900’s stamps as well. I have 20 full to the brim stamp books, letters, post cards, about 50 matchbooks, and old binder pages of stuff that is all numbered. None of that is including the 1000s of singles.

Where do I start?

I picked a few, I’m betting they’re common but I haven’t a clue where to begin.

These are the ones I thought were most interesting, of the ones I’m clueless on.

I've collected first Day covers that the post office issued in the 80s and 90s they were issued as a souvenir sheet by the post office. Also the blocks of 4 that they issued as well. Have maybe 300 of them. How, and where can I get rid of them?

Aryanization confirmation on zemstvo stamps

Earlier, I posted my newly acquired inherited collection in the community with a question about a stamp on the back of some stamps — about seven of them. I recently managed to find out that this is the stamp of a certain Friedrich Heinrich Zinckgraf. He carried out the 'Aryanization' of paintings and collections seized from Jews. I suspect that such a stamp is evidence of Aryanization. Perhaps this information will be of interest to you as well as part of the collection.

Collection of British stamps 1840s-1950s, any value?

Thumbnail

This was my grandfather's stamp collection. There are about 50 pages like this, including most stamps issued in England between the 1840s and 1950s. And then more pages, 1920s to 1950s, European stamps.

Do you think I should bother a stamp dealer to ask for a quote? Or does everyone and their sister have an ancient stamp album like this somewhere?

Thanks again for your help!

Help with inherited stamp collection

I have a small stamp collection I have recently inherited. I unfortunately do not have any knowledge regarding stamps. Can I please get help with determining how best to sell these.

FYI, I have zero expectations of anything of value.

Most of the collection seems to be from "World of Stamps" Series, and are on boards as pictured.

I also have sheets of : Norman Rockwell Classics, 500th Ann. Birth of Raphael, World of Horses, Friendly Felines, Early Transportation, Kings and Queens of England, Twelve Apostles, The Ten Commandments. All appear to be from mid 80's.

Estate Sale Find - Anything Valuable?

Hi everyone! Recently I bought this worldwide stamp collecting album at an estate sale. They all look super cool, but I was wondering if there are any here that are valuable, particularly on this first page. I took some pictures to help illustrate. I can add more photos if that’d help. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have these first edition Belgium stamps from 1850-1866 and was wondering if anyone can help me value them

The last photo, they are from 1941. I’m helping out my grandpa and he’s very curious how much they are worth. He has a collection of about 4000 stamps he is going through so I may be making a few posts here in the coming days. Any information about these stamps is welcome and I’m very interested to know anything about them.

Hey all,

I'm curious if these 1870-1871 stamps have some value. Also, was the X through the #138 a common way to indicate it was used?

Thanks!

I inherited my grandfather's stamp collection. Here's a sample of it. What do you guys think?

Basically title. Trying to figure out if there's anything of worth. Most of the stamps are used. I don't know anything about stamps so thought I would see if you guys could help! Some of these go for a lot online, but only in mint condition. There's approximately 2 books (with at least 50 pages filled with pre 1950 stamps).

German stamp collection questions.

Hello!

My Opa was a massive collector before he passed in 2009. Later in his life he sold the extent of it to Mystic. But…as he was a stamp collector…he started up again, haha.

Curious if any of these prices hold up to this day and if so, if anyone is interested, this isn’t self-promotion (I think?), I’d just like to get them in the hands of someone who would appreciate them as much as he did.

More to the one album, figured you got the idea from the first 10 or so photos AND more albums I believe.

Thanks for any insight, appreciate it!

I found this in an old auction lot described as “Confederate States Fredericksburg, VA Magenta/cream.” Not the better known 5 or 10 issue sadly.

There is some newsprint attached to the reverse.

I would appreciate any information on this item.

I found this, is it worth anything? Does anyone want it? I'd trade it for Russian or German WWII stamps.

Where can you sell stamps in the USA?

As many who post here I have inherited my father’s stamp collection. He has a few good ones! The identification app I downloaded said a handful are valuable. A few duck stamps from the 1950’’s and a few commemorative national Park stamps with $100-300. And the typical box of common stuff.

I don’t appreciate them, where can I sell them? In the east coast of the USA.

Christmas Seals, tax stamps, and other ephemera

Post image

One of my late father's albums is dedicated to "stamp-like" specimens: Easter Seals, margarine stamps, Christmas Seals, etc, mainly from the US but many from The Philippines, Denmark, and other countries. They date to the 1940s.

I'm hanging on to it, but I'm curious if this is noteworthy in the community...the photo shows a typical set of two pages. Thanks!
