Visiting Toronto; Need more ideas

Hello, I am visiting Toronto this week/weekend, and I need more ideas of what to do while I am visiting, as well as some places to get food. Don't want to do the typical fast food. Very open to thoughts. I will be staying in downtown Toronto. Here is my itinerary so far. For reference, I am a 24M

Toronto Itinerary September 3-7
Thursday

  • Arrive at 13:45
  • Go to Book Bar
  • Check in at hotel 15:00
  • Rest of day TBD

Friday

  • Visit Niagara Falls
    • Leave Early morning - Return in the evening 
    • Going to do the Whirlpool Aero Car, jet boats, Hornblower, journey behind the falls, and the power station and the tunnel
    • I’ve heard the GO Train is the best way to book this trip. Is this still the best way? When should I book my ticket?

Saturday

  • Visit a breakfast place
  • Go to the Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario 
  • Visit a Lunch Spot
  • Possibly go back to the hotel and relax, depending on tiredness
  • Get a snack
  • Go to Rufus Concert
  • Get a late-night dinner

Sunday

  • TBD - Need Ideas

If the weather is good go to Toronto islands on Sunday. Or the CNE if you’re into fairs. The Toronto Star recently put out a guide to restaurants, 100 under $100 (for two people), with googling. The Ace Hotel is a beautiful space to grab a coffee/snack, they have cool programming too.

Saturday breakfast at Master's Buffeteria opens 10, near ROM and St George or Spadina stations.
Get Presto card and load a small amount.
Take subway down to AGO at St Patrick station on Line 1.
Now you're near Queen and King for the rest.

I highly suggest a Saturday morning visit to St. Lawrence Market for a peameal sandwich from Carousel Bakery.

Check the schedule for the GO Train from Union Station on Lakeshore Westbound. You might want to pare down the number of activities planned as there is distance between these attractions.
The Hornblower boat takes you up towards the falls but if you do the journey behind the falls, you’re going to get even closer. Jet Boats are downstream past where the Whirlpool Aero Car goes overhead.
I do believe the bus that takes you between these destinations is a WEGO bus. I’m not sure if it’s hop on and off.
You might want to map these places out that you can download beforehand. Give you a better idea of distance and timing.

For the GO Bus, you just buy your ticket online the same day (at least 5 minutes before boarding!) and show the code to the drive when you board.

If you want to save money, you could switch your Niagara trip to Sunday because GO bus is $10/day on the weekend (make sure you buy the weekend pass).

I think doing the ROM and AGO both on Saturday morning is extremely ambitious. I would do one in the morning and one in the afternoon. 

For other things to do:

  • Definitely visit the islands!
  • CN Tower
  • St Lawrence Market
  • Casa Loma (expensive) and/or Spadina House (free)
  • The aquarium

If you’re visiting the AGO, Chinatown is very close by with tons of places for lunch. My personal fav is Swatow on Spadina. Cash only. Noodles are amazing.
