Where can I practice opera?
I live in a Condo and just have these 1 hour lessons where I can sing freely once a week. I am having trouble finding space. My neighbours are upset cause opera is very loud and Toronto condos are literaly shoeboxes.

Back in university, a guy who needed to practice his bagpipes used to go down to the waterfront. That’ll get you through the next couple of months in a pinch, until it gets cold.

Outside my place at 3 am on any given night, judging by the homeless guy that seems to get upset at the sky when HE'S the one coming down

Make friends with someone who lives in The Taylor at Front & Spadina, ones of its amenities is a sound proof music room.

There’s a karaoke bar on Bloor at Clinton where you can rent a small private room by the hour; I seem to recall that the daytime rates are quite inexpensive

You can rent practice spaces at Trinity St Paul's church at Bloor and Spadina. The rates are quite reasonable and all kinds of musicians use them so I'm sure opera singing would be fine.

I can't vouch for any of these products but maybe it would be possible to dampen the noise so you can do it at home?

You could reach out to local theatres/venues. Maybe somebody will let you pop by and sing for an hour? If you get good, maybe you can perform on stage someday...

Public park would be great. You can belt it out to the park goers. They’ll love it. That’s honestly the kind of thing that makes this city better.

When I lived in a condo and I had to practice singing (chamber choir), I would either try to go to a park or I would go into the basement underground parking area. Often, condos have storage locker areas around the underground parking and people don't visit very much, or if they do, it's just for a few minutes to grab something. The acoustics are not bad, and you're usually far enough away that people wouldn't hear you and be bothered.
