I don’t think men need special treatment, just some genuine effort sometimes.

A lot of women do go after the men they want. If that hasn't happened to you, it's probably because they didn't want you. And that's fine, it's not happened to me either.

u/obsidian_palettte 1h ago

You jest Women literally say they don't/wont

1

u/Sp0ttyW0lf 1h ago

I didn't say they all do, or even most. But a lot do.

3

u/MountainPirate3139 1d ago

I asked out my boyfriend, both for a hangout, then a date, then some time later to be my boyfriend. Funnily enough I am a sub… just assertive with what I want…

3

u/MinivanPops 22h ago

You used clear language. You told him exactly what your intentions were, and what you wanted.   People need more of this overall. Good job.

3

u/Tootsiez 20h ago

It’s normal for everyone to feel wanted.

Being a man myself I think it’s perfectly normal for the expectation to make a first move but if someone asks me out or makes the first move without it feeling forced or awkward than so be it.

Just stop going into a relationship feeling like you’re a prize to be won and think of it as you want to start working towards the prize with this person.

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

This is a green flag response.

7

u/Sea_Art2995 1d ago

Definitely. I’ve had 6 boyfriends and 4 I had to make the first move because they were too shy. All the time we would have wasted if I waited for him to make the move. Any guy who judges isn’t worth having

2

u/Ok_Squash_5805 1d ago

Judging what? Being pursued by a woman?

1

u/analwartz_47 12h ago

Lol guys arent judging you, we think you are great for acting like an adult and going for what you want. Its only the girls that are judging you for aprpaching men.

1

u/Brief_Efficiency3500 1h ago

Eh, I've seen guys respond poorly to women making the first move. Not often, but I've seen it.

Those guys sucked.

u/Berserk-Jane 1d ago

If they're doing illegal things, then yes. They should be taken to court and courted there so the justice system can run its course.

3

u/Original-Cut-9483 20h ago

In that case I’ve been courted many, many times.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 5h ago

God. I hate reddit. Just man hating everywhere.

7

u/Hefty-Resort871 1d ago

It would be nice to feel wanted.

....and I'm so shy and oblivious that it won't happen any other way.

2

u/foxonafrozenlake 1d ago

You're probably not the only one.

1

u/TXHaunt 1h ago

I guarantee he isn’t the only one.

2

u/Intelligent_Pass_640 1d ago

Took the words out of my mouth

1

u/zarlt 22h ago

that's such a simple ask honestly, everyone deserves to feel that

6

u/wait4meplss 1d ago

yeah? i think mean deserve to feel pursued too. everyone like feeling wanted

2

u/Tootsiez 20h ago

2

u/Dry-Influence-5770 12h ago

In general, yes.

And if we’re using its traditional definition, then It shouldn’t be an obligation and especially not based on gender. You should “court” someone because you actually want to do so and they’re someone you want to take seriously. If it’s a woman doing the courting? Cool. A man? Also cool. But nobody should feel forced to pick which end to be on.

2

u/preternatural_arcana 4h ago

I wish they would. The expectation (for the most part) is that the man makes the first move, but a lot of women punish men for doing this by calling them creepy and the like. I love beautiful women as much as the next guy, but it's gotten to the point where I assume most pretty women are arrogant just to be safe. I don't approach cause I don't want to be the creepy guy getting shot down and humiliated while simultaneously inflating someone's already over inflated ego.

2

u/Brief_Efficiency3500 1h ago

Holy shit yes. That would be incredible.

It is incredible, speaking from experience.

5

u/Simple-Caregiver13 1d ago

I've had a few women in my life tell me they've had crushes on me for years, but state they would never make the first move. Always thought this was stupid.

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 21h ago

They told you they had a crush on you. They made the first move.

2

u/Simple-Caregiver13 20h ago

This seems obvious from context clues, but this was something they told me after I had made the first move

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 19h ago

You didn't have any context clues that would make one think that. People reminisce and talk about crushes they used to have all the time.

3

u/Just-Weakness4900 1d ago

Absolutely. Men like feeling wanted too

4

u/sugrqbez 1d ago

This would require men to be more comfortable in their masculinity. I’ve seen multiple men complain that women are “too masculine” when they try to make the first move/initiate anything.

5

u/Jaz-MD 1d ago

Those fuckers are spoiling it for the rest of us

6

u/Ok_Squash_5805 1d ago

I have never knew of any man that would be offended by a woman making the first move. It’s literally the opposite.

Your comment is very difficult to take seriously. There’s even statistics showing that men are facing an all time high rate of loneliness. Seems like you just want to insult men for no reason.

2

u/ThrowRAboredinAZ77 23h ago

*Male accountability epidemic

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

You will feel a lot better if you let go of that weird nonsensical bitterness and hatred.

2

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

So you date straight cis gender men and know what they want in a woman ? I mean you must since you are correcting the women who have actually dated straight men....

1

u/ThrowRAboredinAZ77 11h ago

I think you've responded to the wrong comment.

1

u/StinkyyPiss 21h ago

just wondering, are you a man?

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

Just wondering, are you hoping for a specific answer so you can tailor your second comment?

1

u/StinkyyPiss 9h ago

yeah no shit :) can’t really assume what you are.

since you’re avoiding the question i’ll just respond: if you’re a man it makes sense it’s not something you’d hear. you aren’t the woman making the first move, you’re just one man. you aren’t really dealing the the situation, you’re just one person. 🤦🏻‍♀️ i have definitely heard men say that before too. your comment is very difficult to take seriously because you brushed off people’s experiences and just went straight to statistics and taking offense. they didn’t say all or even most men, but there are SOME men who say that, and it can make some people nervous to try again. that’s the point.

i’m slavic btw slavic men 100% think that way. 😂 traditional men exist, stop seeing red just because you see the word “men” followed by something that isn’t kissing their ass 100%

1

u/Same-Economics-5988 17h ago

The few times I've experienced it, I really appreciated it. I approach dating and relationships in a very egalitarian way.

I have talked to multiple women who won't make the first move for fear of emasculating the man. Apparently it is a thing for some insecure dudes.

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

Guess we got different experiences. The women I’ve known don’t want to approach men because they don’t want to feel rejection, they rather have men deal with that risk. Every man I’ve know would have their day made by getting approached.

1

u/Same-Economics-5988 11h ago

Oh, I have no doubt that's true for plenty of women. I have just the other convo too.

1

u/sugrqbez 1d ago

I’ve met a lot of men who felt “emasculated” by a woman making the first move. Men are lonely now because someone sold them the idea that women need to be their mothers, incubators, maids, nanny’s, sex dolls, and breadwinners and women are finally standing up and saying no. I’m married to a wonderful man and I’ve never had to chase him, none of my friends have ever had to chase their partners either. If you want a traditional, straight relationship you’re going to have to talk to women and show them that you’re interested in a respectful way. If you’re waiting for the right woman to come sweep you off your feet, you’re probably going to be waiting a while.

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

It’s funny how people like you can see that you are everything you’re complaining about. You say you have a man that you’re happy with, yet here you are spewing so much hatred for men. The biggest joke is you probably think you’re a catch with that personality of yours.

1

u/sugrqbez 12h ago

I am a catch with a hot husband too. Please go back to watching Andrew Tate or whatever you were up to before

-2

u/MentirosoProfesional 23h ago

I’ve met a lot of men who felt “emasculated” by a woman making the first move. Men are lonely now because someone sold them the idea that women need to be their mothers, incubators, maids, nanny’s, sex dolls, and breadwinners and women are finally standing up and saying no.

My delusional little girl, you ain't living in the 50s, you didn't live any of the misogyny of that era, stop pretending that every man wants to cosplay as a 50s traditional couple because men of today take whatever they can get. Even statistics show the opposite of what you're saying, more men help with the house chores than ever, more men are stay at home bf/husband's than ever before

But no, the girl who believes she still lives in the 50s just has to pretend that all men are a monolith and demand a servant, not a girlfriend

Oh but when I talk about women as a monolith I'm the incel, but when you do it it's all fine and dandy because it's about men? Right?

You don't even seem to understand why you didn't have to chase anyone, nor does the average woman need to chase men because men do all the job of initiating the relationship 🤣

5

u/sugrqbez 23h ago

Yes, men are now doing more domestic duties because of feminism which lead to the introduction and success of women in the work force. Men now can’t put women in mental hospitals because they don’t do 100% of the child rearing and household chores, so that helps as well.
I’m not in the 50s, but I have seen and been in real relationships and noticed the pattern of men feeling “emasculated” and how that has increased with the alpha male podcasts becoming popular. I don’t think I called you an incel, I think I called the redditor saying that “a woman on Reddit can never be wrong” an incel. If you felt like responding it must have hit a nerve though. Good luck bud! Hope a woman talks to you, really do.

2

u/UpbeatTea6950 20h ago

Amazing. Everything you said was wrong. Statistically women are still doing most of the housework and childcare while men have more free time. And thanks to the manosphere, young men have definitely continued their chauvinist and violent behavior to women. This is statistically confirmed data.

-1

u/MentirosoProfesional 20h ago

Daily Time Spent on Chores

Women: Log about 140 minutes daily on household tasks, with 53 minutes dedicated strictly to core housework.

Men: Spend about 100 minutes daily on household tasks, logging roughly 22 minutes on core housework.

Progress: The gender gap has narrowed by roughly 40% over the last twenty years, down from women doing 4.2 times as much core housework as men in 2003–2005 to 2.5 times as much in recent years.

Wow, how terrible, they're doing a little more housework than men, the horror, men should do the 100% of the housechores because women 500 years ago were basically slaves and shit 😭😭😭

Women of today has been pampered their whole life's by their parents but cry like a bitch for things that they have never ever experienced themselves, meanwhile I bet you do near zero house chores in your own home, but you feel entitled to tell others how they should manage their, am right??

Why don't you take you misandry to little kids that can't defend themselves? At least they can be gaslighted into believing women are still victims of the oppressive patriarchy while their female peers enjoy more privileges by years given by the state than they will ever get in their entire infancy and teenager years.

Agarra la pala mejor, floja.

4

u/UpbeatTea6950 20h ago

Also, misandry doesn't exist. And women do most of the work especially childcare but you think I, a woman do no chores around my house ? Lololololol

3

u/UpbeatTea6950 20h ago

Men aren't doing anywhere close to 50 percent of the housework and you think that's equality ? I think your the bitch.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 5h ago

And women aren’t putting in half as much effort into their jobs. Men do shit jobs while women do what they are interested in.

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 4h ago

😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆. Female dominated jobs like nursing, teaching etc. are intense amount of work. You wouldn't last a fucking day. Where do you come up these dumb ass takes ? Also y'all gate keep most jobs and harass women out of them. Men are just doing less work than women .period.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 4h ago

I literally teach lol.

However, women legitimately and factually don’t do alot of male jobs. “Gatekeep”… really? Cope more.

Men are lonely because men are unkind to women, and other people.

1

u/Pedantic-Polecat 12h ago

Being unkind hasn’t seemed to result in loneliness for women.  Why do think it results in loneliness for men?

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

Women: maintain friendships, raise children, take care of elderly parents, take care of husbands, uphold social systems, have pets they adore. "Women are so mean why aren't they lonely like men :(" <<<< you an intellectual

1

u/Pedantic-Polecat 12h ago

I mean you can read through this thread and most of the comments by women are very unkind.  You may believe they are true but they are very unkind.

That hasn’t resulted in the same loneliness epidemic in women, though it has contributed to some very significant dysfunctions for women.

Your list isn’t a refutation of the assertion that women are often unkind.  It is a totally tangential set of behaviors.  And they aren’t even behaviors remotely exclusive to women, like men don’t have pets…lol.

Anyway, I don’t expect you have a real argument about about the different outcomes. I doubt you think much beyond ‘men bad, women good’ so we just keep circling around pointless repetitions of that.

Good luck!

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

No those all require you to establish relationships and maintaining them, which means you can't be an unkind person. Women are not lonely, because they are not unkind. You just are stupid and think you can be a sexist asshole and not get treated like a sexist asshole.

Women aren't obligated to speak nicely about men who are by and large violent and hateful to us. Also the data and statistics back this up. Men are lonely because they are assholes. Get mad about it. Men are also known for the lack of accountability.

1

u/Pedantic-Polecat 11h ago

Women aren't obligated to speak nicely about men who are by and large violent and hateful to us.

Thank you for proving the point of my original comment!  Much appreciated.  Unfortunately, you don’t seem to have any insight as to the actual question.

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 10h ago

I posted and did answer. No men should not be courted more. Why would I chase after the people most like to kill or harm me? Most men even if they don't do that treat us like garbage. I have already been way nicer to men than they ever were to me. They have to make some effort and prove they are not cruel, murderous or a predator.

1

u/Pedantic-Polecat 10h ago

You just keep repeating your weird incel like fantasies. I guess if you have a hammer everything looks like a nail but they don’t actually address the question.

0

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

Women aren't unkind. And the ones who are tend to be lonely. Men are lonely because they are assholes.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 5h ago

Just false. I know tons of great men who just aren’t attractive in that way to women.

0

u/UpbeatTea6950 4h ago

No you don't. Y'all have zero standards for what makes a great man. You also can't understand that just because a guy is nice to you, doesn't mean he's nice to women. Because y'all are toddler babies who think only things happen to you.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 4h ago

Lmao. I guess all the women who are telling me he’s a great man also don’t understand. But i’m a toddler, so what would i know

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 4h ago

Yeah women are not telling you that. Or they are lying because you seem like a complete asshole. If he was such a great guy, they would want him.

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 4h ago

No. They wouldn’t hahaha. The irony. I literally pointed this out to my girlfriend at the time. Guy had been struggling to get a date for years. Average looks. Kind. She said he was such a great guy and attractive blah blah blah. I asked her then why didn’t she date him before me. Silence.

The answer? Because being kind isn’t enough. The guy has tons of friends. Many of whom are women. Yet none of them see him that way. He puts himself out there, but it’s been 5 or so years since a date.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 4h ago

Or maybe if he's so great you should date him ? That would solve everyone's problem now wouldn't it ? 😆

1

u/Actual-Woodpecker-95 4h ago

Imagine thinking thats a clever comment.

You’re right, men are evil, women are angels…

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

Statistically men are evil, and women are a lot less evil. Don't know what to tell ya. Stay lonely.

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

lol I agreed with your blanket generalization, why are you still throwing a tantrum?

“Stay lonely”, says the person spewing hatred and bitterness online. Glad I’m not alone like you.

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

I'm in a very happy relationship and have friends ❤️. I am doing well.  We both know you are the lonely one. Do you not understand data and statistics ? Can't fight the facts babe. Y'all are evil in a way few women ever get close to being.

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

lol I’m the lonely one? Yet here you are spewing hatred. You sure do seem fulfilled, but somehow feel the need to convince strangers that. The funniest part is you probably submit comments and tell yourself “got him” with a goofy smile. I feel bad for your man. Gonna mute you now.

1

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

That's a lot of projection buddy!  My partner doesn't give the slightest fuck what you feel I can assure you.

2

u/SauronOfDucks 1d ago

I’ve seen multiple men complain that women are “too masculine” when they try to make the first move/initiate anything.

Ah, the manosphere brainworm is rife with the insecure

3

u/Anansis_Waltz 21h ago

I almost want footnotes on the bs they push.
The crazy keeps bleeding out of that community and confusing the rest of us.

1

u/xboxhaxorz 15h ago

I think most are fine with it, i havent come across tons of social media posts off men complaining about women approaching them

But i have come across tons of posts and vids of women shaming men for merely glancing at them

1

u/sugrqbez 13h ago

I’ve seen it in real life multiple times. Mostly from Gen X men. Maybe it’s different for a younger generation

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 1d ago

It’s funny how when a man says the things you claim from your experiences, women will chime in and say “you’re probably being creepy and not respecting their personal choice”.  But no one can challenge a woman on Reddit.

1

u/sugrqbez 1d ago

Incel alert

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 12h ago

lol I wonder how many times a day you misuse that word like a child. You spew hatred on here, but want to label people incels, the irony.

1

u/sugrqbez 12h ago

Involuntary celibate. Think I know what it means and yes, it seems to be used in the right context

0

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Global-Barracuda7759 1d ago

I say these people because there were two situations like this that were different but similar and like I said these are both people that I knew socially for many years one of the them I was pretty close with

0

u/sugrqbez 1d ago

My mom taught me to never chase a man and it’s worked out great for me. I’m not chasing a man ever and I’d never recommend any woman to either.

4

u/Ok_Squash_5805 1d ago

So should men also not chase any woman?

2

u/sosiche3929 15h ago

Will women stop complaining that men don’t approach them anymore then? Pls ty

0

u/sugrqbez 13h ago

I can’t speak for all women but I’ve never complained about that in my life.

0

u/sosiche3929 22h ago

this is so funny because if you were a guy saying this about women you’d literally be an incel but since ur a woman, u can get away with it i guess lol

0

u/Global-Barracuda7759 16h ago

That's such BS

0

u/[deleted] 16h ago

[deleted]

1

u/sosiche3929 16h ago

Sure, but femcels/incels who complain about unsuccessful dating typically are self inflicted because they harbor stereotypes and prejudices of the other gender, and it definitely seems like you have those same beliefs/stereotypes lol

“but my stereotypes are different because they’re true”

“but based on my personal experiences..”

We’ve heard it all.

1

u/[deleted] 15h ago edited 15h ago

[deleted]

1

u/sosiche3929 15h ago

Trust me, incels/femcels are celibate too lol

Having personal experiences is one thing, but starting to associate that with an entire gender (175 million different men in my country btw) is where it gets to be incel/femcel ideology

Incels will post literally the exact same things you are posting about online, complaining about how women are crazy, don’t reciprocate, etc. When in reality, there are millions of normal men and women who are in happy relationships, so it’s clearly not a gender issue, it’s an individual one.

1

u/Global-Barracuda7759 15h ago

Seems like you have a lot of beliefs and stereotypes that you're projecting on me without actually hearing what I'm saying or reading what I'm saying

1

u/sosiche3929 15h ago

You don’t need to reply 3 different times lol

1

u/Global-Barracuda7759 15h ago

I can do whatever I want so

1

u/[deleted] 15h ago

[deleted]

1

u/sosiche3929 15h ago

I will just say that you seem sensitive to pushback and therapy is never a bad idea! Goodluck! Muting these convos

1

u/Global-Barracuda7759 15h ago

You're such a POS but God will deal with you

0

u/MinivanPops 22h ago

Things are a lot easier when you stop insinuating and chasing.  Just ask the guy out, using clear language where he's not having to worry about your intentions. It's very risky for a guy to get it wrong. All you have to say is "would you like to go out with me for dinner"?

If they say no, they're not interested. Then you'll have your results.  With a clear and direct invitation you'll know that they're not confused, they're able to say yes or no clearly.

1

u/MentirosoProfesional 23h ago

You're delusional, reddit is CHOKE FULLA of guys that WISH they were pursued in any way by women, even for friendship only

Guess you only go after chads with fragile masculinity and never tried to make the first move with an average or shy guy

2

u/sugrqbez 23h ago

Why would I go for an average guy when I have above average men taking the initiative?

1

u/MentirosoProfesional 23h ago

Yeah, why would you go for an average guy that's going to settle for you because he understands he can't be picky and doesn't have much of a choice anyways, when you could hook up with chad that's constantly love bombing you (and another 20 different women to see who falls for it) in order to get easy sex and then dump you when he gets bored or have better choices?

I'm actually saving myself for a Stacy too, she surely won't have another 1000 men after her and surely will settle with me, no problem

2

u/sugrqbez 23h ago

I’m married, have been for a while. I hope you find your Stacy!

1

u/ScipioTheGreatest 23h ago

Everyone's going to laugh when you're alone in your 40s and even the average men don't care about you anymore.

2

u/sugrqbez 23h ago

Oooh fun. Maybe I’ll end up on an alpha male podcast as an example. “Don’t have standards or else you’ll end up like her!”

1

u/ScipioTheGreatest 23h ago

It's just a countdown for obnoxious bitches. Once the new models show up you get tossed aside because you have nothing else to offer.

1

u/MentirosoProfesional 23h ago

Hey watch your language, you don't need to be so disrespectful to make a point

I even agree with you because I lived it already, my ex best friend literally tried to settle for me once she reached 31 because Chad and Tyrone weren't paying any attention to her anymore and she was starting to get visibly fat, but that doesn't mean I've the right to call every woman a bitch, or not even any woman, because I don't know them and everyone is different unless proven otherwise

0

u/ScipioTheGreatest 22h ago

I don't call every woman a bitch. I just call obnoxious bitches that. Because they're being exactly that. Almost like those words were invented for the exact purpose I'm using them.

0

u/ScipioTheGreatest 23h ago

That is just a complete load of shit you are making up to justify your delusions.

-1

u/MinivanPops 22h ago

I'm pushing 50 and I've never seen that

2

u/foxonafrozenlake 1d ago

Most men see being courted as an affront to their masculinity.

My husband is 6'7", 200lbs, extremely masculine. But he still likes to be treated.

I make baths for us to take once or twice a week. I buy him gifts. The kids and I surprise him at work.

We're both dudes, but he's got a foot and a half on me and at least 70lbs on me.

He isn't a big fan of flowers but I buy them for him anyway.

Guys shouldn't feel gay or feminine if their wife or partner wants to romance them.

1

u/Ok_Squash_5805 1d ago

I highly doubt the percentage of men who don’t want to be approached is anything significant.

3

u/Physical_Agency_5383 23h ago

…we are.

When a woman actually likes you, she will hunt you shamelessly.

Most guys have only dated chicks who are lukewarm about them. And that’s shaped their dating expectations.

3

u/ScipioTheGreatest 23h ago

And back to it being all the men's fault.

0

u/sosiche3929 22h ago

most men don’t have women hunting them down shamelessly, tell us more about how many women fling themselves at you

0

u/Physical_Agency_5383 22h ago

Because most men are thirsty af and ruin everything for themselves. And not just in the sense of blindly chasing girls who are disinterested or semi-interested. I mean also in the sense of caring so much about what women think that they inadvertently make themselves look like punks.

Women are disgusted when you care if they like you or not. The happiest type of relationship is one where she is fixated on you, and you just think she’s OK enough for now.

6

your last paragraph warrants caution around taking any relationship advice from you. You realize that femcel circles say that same thing but in reverse… that the man should be obsessed with you more than the woman is.

If you look at successful couples, they literally don’t give a fuck about these things and are just normal people lol

Because it’s true.

Sex is about power. And if you’re the one who feels like you have more to lose emotionally, you’re the weak one. You’re the inferior.

And I feel like “success” for you means settling for the first person who stays.

u/Beefsupreme473 14h ago

if you want sex to be about power you shouldn't be dating people and you need to work on yourself.

0

u/Physical_Agency_5383 14h ago

It’s not about what anyone “wants”

That’s the way it is

3

u/Beefsupreme473 14h ago

nah you're huffing some andrew tate shit or something dude

0

u/Physical_Agency_5383 14h ago

Andrew Tate is a bitch obsessed with women.

3

u/sosiche3929 14h ago

Dude the hypocrisy is unreal. You really think Andrew Tate wasn’t spouting this same bs not too long ago? Look it up.

Please humble yourself. You aren’t better than anyone else and your “deep” understanding of relationships is cringey and overplayed by now.

No. I hate going to court.

On average it would benefit everyone if they were.

Love, companionship, partnering, is a diversification opportunity for any human, and achieving this would actually open up the general floodgates of honesty across ages and genders rather than allow the toxic build up of long-held lies, contemptible abandonment, and greivances experienced.

It'd achieve this by humans effectively counteracting the 'organic, biological, natural' way that pits the genders against themselves in service or devotion of the other. This usually only occurs because of language and communication gaps/barriers, and if this part of humanity flourished due to us finally freeing ourselves of narrational concerns, predatory groupings, and linguistic conflation.

Obviously though there will still be jealousy and rejection and self-doubt, because those concepts/notions can also apply 'inwards' (i.e. self-inflicted) as well as 'outwards' (i.e. psychological projection). That all humans experience this to some greater or lesser extent is why it is fair, but usually it is only those who have endured some significant hardship(s) and generalized maturity that know that our duty is to ensure that humans don't become so attracted to each other that the secret of nuclear fusion is revealed. *ahem* I hope how I ended the previous sentence isn't too telling of a truth.

Just the rich ones.

2

u/Petrochromis722 1d ago

Ummm... isn't that just the status quo?

1

u/SunsGettinRealLow 20h ago

Yes my gf courted me and we’ve been together over a year now!

1

u/centerfoldangel 15h ago

To be courted, you need to have something someone wants.

1

u/Comfums 13h ago

Well well well

1

u/centerfoldangel 13h ago

Use your words.

1

u/No_Discount_6028 7h ago

Generally women should do a better job of making their men feel wanted. Courting in particular isnt needed either way but its fine if they want to and should be socially accepted.

0

u/No_Basis104 1d ago

No. Barley offer anything else they really only provide money and courting though they don’t anymore.

Men barley listen to things you have going on, barley clean, etc

It's only bad when men do it, ok?

Why should women always initiate everything?

1

u/normal_hombre 1d ago edited 1d ago

They don't, lol. People bring this up because in today's dating climate, it would help if they would. Dating apps, no third spaces, post-covid social anxiety, social media induced social anxiety, etc.

Shit's not the same as back in the 90s. In the vast majority of cultures, women don't ask men out on dates, or even approach them. And no, I'm not saying it should be only women who should approach.

There are endless amounts of men who have also been rejected every time even if interest was shown for them.

3

u/MinivanPops 22h ago

Exactly, being rejected is part of the game. That's not men's fault.

-1

u/UpbeatTea6950 20h ago

No. Women already do too much chasing and doing nice things for men that are not reciprocated. Men would have to be a whole lot nicer before this happens.

0

u/Dry-Influence-5770 12h ago

Would it not be easier to pick a guy you like then have to go through and reject tons of advances?

0

u/UpbeatTea6950 12h ago

Nope. Most men treat women like garbage. Also they kill and rape us. So nah. Not risking my neck anymore than I already have. Like y'all don't seem to get that men are extremely dangerous, hell no I'm not chasing one of you.

Should women become more upfront and honest in expressing their feelings towards a man?

I do not wish to disillusion anyone, but we all know it functions differently. Attempt to reject them? I don't recommend it. You are free to attempt if you believe you have a chance, but most guys I talk to will either reject you outright or see it as a chance for a one-night encounter unless you are clear about your goals, which requires serious, sincere communication that I doubt they are even capable of.

I just want to be realistic; I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Good luck, I suppose.

I've been married over 25 years and my wife has never taken me on a single formal date (where I am asked formally, I make no plans, and she takes care of everything).   Not that it matters much to me, but it would be nice to be taken out.

I'm old (52 M) but hate the idea of being pursued by a woman. That is the man's job. Men don't really feel the need to be pursued like women do. In the 1900s, women would do this thing called "flirting" or "send signals" to a guy she liked. The guy would pick up on these signals if he liked her, but not so much if he didn't. The guy, thinking it was his idea and not knowing he was being manipulated by the woman would then pursue. It was a beautiful dance that seems to be going extinct. Thanks technology.

Really wealthy/ attractive men are courted, probably more blatantly than women used to be. Society doesn’t value men without wealth and beauty, same as women. The patriarchy strikes again
