I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.
If you haven't seen those changes yet, you should see them on your next bill or if you make a plan change.
Customers can no longer choose Premium PL, Extra EL, & Starter SL but they are included for comparison as those plans can mix & match with the new plans. Signature/appreciation discounts they had on the old plans continue on your old plans, but they may be different for new plans (see chart).
The main differences:
Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has 2 GB less of hotspot). It might mess with promo credits, so double check (see info at bottom of this post [it links to a different post, so ask you r promo related questions there).
Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you can have Extra 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how manyphonelines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

My wife and I have shared an ATT wireless phone account for more than a decade. Last year I got tired of exhorbitant Verizon FIOS internet charges and discovered that ATT Air was available in my neighborhood, with fiber coming in the foreseeable future.
Costwise, it was a no-brainer. On the 55+ plan for phones, with discounts for bundled ATT Air and autopay, my combined monthly bill is $94 plus $13 in taxes and fees. That’s less that Verizon was charging for gigabit fiber internet alone!
Initially, ATT Air performance was iffy. I was told that the cell tower near me was being upgraded to handle increasing traffic. I had to be patient for a few weeks, but now I’m getting a solid 250-300+ Mbps down. Shared over an old 5G Orbi mesh WiFi setup, that’s enough bandwidth to handle two phones, two tablets, two laptops, two desktops, two TVs, three security cameras, an EV and charger covering a two-story house, detached garage and backyard workshop.
The only drawback is upload speeds. The BGW530-900 says it’s getting 8-21 mbps up. The desktop connected to the ATT gateway via ethernet independently tests about half that, and the mesh WiFi cuts uploads to barely readable levels. I’m not asking for tech tips, I’ve tried most of them and wound up disabling WiFi radios in the gateway while using it for DNS to the Orbi with its own ip addresses.
Bottom line, I’m not a competitive gamer and this setup is fine for surfing, streaming and home security. I see a lot of people dissing ATT Air, but depending on where you live (we’re in Richmond, VA) and the deal you can get, it’s all many folks need.
I’m waiting impatiently for a promised free fiber upgrade when ATT gets around to it. Meanwhile, don’t let the negativity and brand bias dissuade you from giving Air a shot if you’re comparison shopping!
I don’t know what is happening but my data is terrible the last two days. I’m trying to get someone at customer service to help but the wait is so long. I’ve tried turning off my phone, restarting, toggling off 5G, I’m off wifi, you name it. It’s slow as crap and some things don’t load at all. I’m at a loss. Any suggestions?
Title: AT&T watch order ready for pickup, number reserved, but store cannot activate eSIM
I placed an online order with AT&T for a cellular watch last night. During checkout, AT&T ran the credit/financing process and required a $100 down payment. The order was approved and later showed as ready for pickup at a nearby AT&T store.
I went to the store today to pick it up, but they could not get the eSIM to activate on the watch. Because activation would not complete, they could not release the watch to me.
The store employee suggested it might be a credit issue, but that does not really make sense to me because:
The credit/financing decision was already completed online.
AT&T specifically required a $100 down payment.
The order was approved and released to the store for pickup.
My AT&T order status still says “Pick up your order.”
AT&T customer service reviewed the account/order and did not identify a credit problem.
Customer service transferred me to technical support.
AT&T support said the phone number for the new watch line is already reserved in the backend.
Technical support said I need to be physically back in the store with the watch so they can troubleshoot it with the store.
Has anyone seen this before?
Could this be a stuck wearable line/eSIM provisioning issue, EID mismatch, or the reserved MDN being stuck in AT&T’s backend?
I do not want the store to cancel and recreate the order or rerun credit if this is simply an activation/provisioning problem.
If any AT&T employees are familiar with this type of issue, what should I specifically ask the store or technical support to check? EID, IMEI, reserved MDN, pending line, eSIM profile, OPUS provisioning, etc.?
The store basically said, call 611. 611 transferred me to tech support and they said that I have to be in the store. We've been customers for 2 days
I preordered a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra through the online channels. The phone came in and it was great except there was a problem with the Camera. I was within my 14 day window so I contacted support via phone and proceeded to exchange the device for an exact duplicate.
There was a delay with the replacement, which I was fine with. But then i started getting hounded about returning my phone. How am I going to return my phone before the replacement even arrives??
Well, the phone arrived yesterday and its the wrong thing. Once again, I contact customer support and they tell me to activate the phone so they can exchange this one too. I activate the phone and then he tells me that he has to wait three days after activation to exchange the phone. He tells me if I want it sooner to go to the store or to contact the loyalty department.
I go to the store and they tell me that they can not access any online orders. I go back home and contact support again in an attempt to reach this fabled loyalty department and I am not sure because of his accent, but I feel like this support guy is pissed that I am trying to exchange my phone. He is overtalking me and interrupting me as I try to explain this ever more complex headache.
I am at a loss on steps forward. Does anyone have a phone number to reach someone in the US? I don't have a problem with the international call centers but everyone I have talked to seems to just be reading a script instead of trying to understand this situation.
Additionally, I only ordered this phone because they have me $1900 off for my trade-in and I feel like that is probably long lost in all these exchanges. At this point, I want to throw both these phones in the river and start sending smoke signals because that would be less of a hassle.
---
Update: They told me I need to mail them back both phones. That would leave me without a phone at all =\
I filed a fraud claim with ATT after somebody purchased an iphone and line transfer in my name. The claim was rejected. I filed again, this time with a signed affidavit and police report. It was rejected again.
I tried to cancel my AT&T internet online yesterday. There is nowhere to do it in the interface. I did the online chat, they said I had to call the number. I tried calling the phone number, they were closed. It said I could schedule a call back. You have to enter your proposed time but then it keeps saying that time is not available. Finally I got one for 8:00PM the following night.
Now I'm calling the number again since it's the middle of the day. I have been on hold for 29 minutes as I type this. They could offer me a free year at this point and I'm still cancelling as soon as I get someone on the line.
Anyone else have this fun to deal with? AT&T is calling us to sell us services we already buy from AT&T. They do not appear to know how to not do this, despite asking. I mean 10x a day sometimes.
AT&T Internet out last 16 days. All they say is we’re working on the problem. According to the outage map, it covers about 10 mi.² in Oconee County, South Carolina . What could take 18 days to fix?
Okay, to make a long story short: we upgraded our lines through Costco, got two iPhone 17 Pro Maxes and an Apple Watch shipped. Shipment arrives, UPS driver says something looks wrong, opens the package for us, both phones have been stolen during the packaging/shipping process. We refuse the whole order (even though the watch was in there), get in touch with AT&T. We spend 3 hours on the phone with them and eventually have to pay sales tax on all three devices again (previous payment will be refunded in 7-14 days lol), and are told they should be coming next day. Well, something is wrong with the watch order, where it won’t accept the new signing of the terms and conditions for the new order, and is hitting us with the error message in the image below. Customer service line folks say “rest assured” but they barely understand what we’re saying. Anyone have experience with this? Cause it’s holding up the whole order, neither the watch or phones will ship until it’s resolved.
Idk what’s going on but I have the iPhone Air and the last few days the coverage has been crap. It goes into LTE and I get 1 maybe 2 bars in a lot of places. It never happened like this before but like I said the last few days it’s been ridiculous anyone else having issues?
Last weekend, August 22-25 my power was out (no electricity) for 3 days. From that Saturday the 22nd to Monday night I had no power. So, charged my phone in the car then I get a notification that I’m close to using all my data for the month.
I/we have no control over natural disasters. We had a bow echo storm come through Memphis of 70-80 mph winds. My power was out 3 days. Do you not have a system to not slow down the internet on customers during natural disasters?
I honestly don’t know what else to do at this point.
I ordered a new iPhone through AT&T, and the phone was supposed to be delivered by UPS Next Day Air. It was supposed to arrive Monday, but it never did. The UPS tracking had no updates for several days, and the package was supposedly left at a CVS, but I went there twice and they did not have it.
I actually contacted UPS directly. The UPS representative told me that the lack of updates for several days was not normal and specifically told me that AT&T, as the sender, needed to open a claim. Instead, AT&T kept telling me to wait even longer.
And the AT&T chat support has been a complete nightmare.
When I finally asked AT&T to cancel the phone order because I never received it, the agent somehow canceled my wireless line instead.
To be extremely clear: the phone order had absolutely nothing to do with the wireless line they canceled. I never authorized the cancellation of my service.
Now I have no cellular service. I contacted AT&T again, and after going back and forth, they told me that I have to go to an AT&T store to restore my service because their system/PIN validation won't allow them to fix it through chat.
This happened around 6 PM on Monday, after I had already finished work. Now I'm being told that I have to go to a store to fix an error that AT&T caused.
The agent also told me that she would send me a transcript/receipt of the entire chat after the conversation ended. I never received it.
I understand mistakes happen, but the entire experience has been extremely frustrating. I spent hours dealing with customer support, followed UPS's instructions, and still ended up without my phone service because AT&T canceled the wrong thing.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Is there a way to escalate this beyond regular customer support?
Backstory there was a huge Derecho that went through our town and it knocked down our tree about 3 weeks ago now. When the tree uprooted our underground fiber line came out too and was bent and broke. We have called and scheduled appointments but they keep postponing and canceling them. They just had a no show again today and everytime we call support it is absolutely no help and our situation hasn’t been escalated. I am posting on here hoping someone can help us find a solution if we can’t get any help from them we are gonna have to switch providers because this is outrageous.
I am forced to deal with your abyssmal company since I have been running a Yahoo sports fantasy football league since 2003. and it really sucks that randomly I am unable to sign in no matter what. Yahoo login sends me to att login, and that just spins away indefinitely. no error. nothing. I have given up on trying to check my emails already since every other hour, authorization issues with that as well. 2026, let's upgrade those archaic auth servers. Pretty sure EVERYONE by know understands what "keep me signed in" means. It isn't some dire warning anymore.
UPDATE: It doesn't spin forever, sometime after 10 minutes, it says Looks like you’ve stepped away
To keep your information safe, we’ve ended your session. That would be helpful if it ever logged in.
Oh, NO RANTS. Well, point me in a direction that isnt copy/paste to what can be done about logging in confidently. Please
I'm pursuing a job with AT&T that would be in a corporate office. I have more alt look that can be mostly toned down, however I'm wondering if anyone has experience with stretched ears. I read an old post that claimed no bigger than a dime, but mine are definitely larger than that. Mine are a little over 1/2 inch.
And I still stand by it. Do not use this service. After 18 full hours on the phone across a full week of time trying to get my phone number back.
Ultimately I guess I could say it was the phones fault because it couldn't get the eSIM, despite being unlocked and have been on 4 other providers in its life and able to activate with two other providers during this ordeal, but AT&T has no backup plan for when things go awry with this service
The problem with this plan is that it is not designed to be interacted with. There is no support available, especially if you are having issues. The AI sends you to the web, customer service is directed to send you to the web, and most customer service agents have not even heard of this plan. They don't know what to do, so if you need help you're really out of luck. the digital-only eSIM is also an issue. They won't and can't give you an actual activation code, so if they are sending the eSIM to the wrong EID or UICC, you're out of luck.
I'll start with how to get out if you're ever stuck, the tl;dr is you have to get the line activated on any phone so you can get the transfer pin. I used my own phone instead of my wife's:
Call AT&T Customer Service. The Build-a-plan number is supposedly 844-668-0753, but I don't think that's true and I got forwarded around constantly.
Give the AI as little information as possible. If you give it the phone number or account number it will look it up, see you have BYOP, tell you to go online for support and hang up on you. I am completely serious. Give it a functional phone number and tell it you want to speak to a human and won't give it anymore information. This was generally the fastest way to get a human.
Once you are connected to a human, you can give them your BYOP account information or phone number. You're likely in the wrong department, but be courteous and let them forward you to the correct department.
Once you're at the correct department, hopefully talking to "RC", you'll need the trapped phone number, account number, and likely the order number. Tell them you cannot access the phone number and you want to activate the line on a different IMEI. Stay on this as your plan. I spent 4 hours on day with them trying to figure out why my phone wasn't working, and I knew it wasn't working and that was a dead end. They're trying to fix it for their benefit, not yours.
They'll want to send a one-time code to authenticate you, but since it would go to your BYOP number that you can't access, ask them to e-mail the code to you instead.
Once you're authenticated, they can re-issue the eSIM to the new IMEI number. Any phone that can handle eSIM is eligible, but if it doesn't work the first time, just try a different phone. It sucks that you need a different physical device. You cannot turn the new eSIM on while you're on the phone, so you'll have to disconnect the call to do so, but once it is downloaded you're likely golden
Once you are successfully activated, log into your account online, go to Profile -> Settings -> Transfer PIN. It'll be sent to your number. Confirm it, and then go to Profile -> Settings -> Transfer PIN again to see the transfer pin. Use it to escape.
In early July I called AT&T to set up my first account for cellular and internet. I told the sales rep directly: do not activate the cellular service until later this month. He assured me it wouldn't kick in yet, so I gave him my info.
One hour later, my old provider had already deactivated my line. AT&T's promise lasted less time than the phone call itself. I was stuck using their service whether I wanted it or not.
A couple days later, once I had time to deal with it, I called and canceled the cellular service. Now I've got a $55.29 bill for those couple of days of "service" I never wanted, never agreed to have activated on that timeline, and was explicitly told wouldn't happen.
It gets better. When I called back to make sure everything was actually canceled, the rep tried to upsell me on internet instead of helping. I said I only wanted internet, at the cheapest available tier. She kept pushing the 1-gig plan anyway, so I hung up and just signed up for internet myself on their website. She then emailed me after the fact saying she'd gone ahead and signed me up for a plan anyway — without my permission — which created a duplicate account mess that caused problems when the installer showed up.
And today? I called again to sort out the $55.29 dispute. Was told to hold for another agent. Waited 10 minutes. Got dumped back into the automated robot menu like the call never happened.
I'm filing a formal dispute over the charge, and if it's not resolved I'm taking it to the FCC and my state AG's office. I actually like my internet service and have zero problem paying for that — but the cellular charge is a straight-up result of them not honoring what I was told on a recorded sales call.
Anyone dealt with something similar? Did escalating to FCC/BBB actually get results, or is there a faster way to get a human who can actually fix this?
Back in April of this year, I switched numbers that had previously been with ATT back to ATT after being on Consumer Cellular for a while. I thought that would qualify me for the American Airlines promo, but it didn’t. I have since added a new line to my account and once again tried to get the AA promo, but because it shows my AA member number as already having been submitted, it won’t allow me to continue. Trying to get through to someone is pointless… any suggestions?
I got a used Apple Watch, was running watchOS26. Phone is on iOS27 beta. Paired the watch and signed up for cellular service, but the eSIM will not download to the watch giving error code EDS4014. I talked to AT&T for 2 1/2 hours trying unpairing/repairing and whatever else they were doing on the backend with no luck. Canceled the line and started fresh with no luck. Upgraded to watchOS27 beta and got the same error. AT&T says there's nothing more they can do and suggested it is a problem with the watch.
If this is because I'm on beta software, that's fine, but it's a mature beta. The final will be coming out in a couple weeks. I imagine something as critical as this would be working.
Anyone else run into this issue? If not, I'll tough it out until the OS is out of beta and go to Apple then. Thanks!
Hi everyone, I cracked my back glass and it dented the heck out of my phone and I have Apple care on my iPhone 17 pro that I got for trading in my old phone. I know they give you “installment” credits for it per month but is it tied to the device itself? Like if I use an AppleCare claim and they happen to give me a new device will that still be under the installment credits? Want to know before I file a claim and if they give me a new one it would take away the credits because it would be a new imei.
so i've been having an issue with one specific contact through texts/calls/facetimes for months now. it's intermittent so it doesn't always occur but i will text, call, or facetime sometimes and they will say they don't receive them and vice versa on their end. it's extremely confusing and frustrating. they even got a new phone and # because of this and it still is occurring. i have at&t and they have tmobile. i was just curious has anyone experienced something similar? and what is the solution to fixing it?
