I was riding a Lime scooter to work this morning and had an awful experience with multiple people being completely unhinged!

This guy in a lifted truck came up behind me laying on his horn, then pulled alongside me and started yelling out the window that I needed to “get off the freeway.”

I genuinely don’t understand why people get this angry about scooters. I was keeping as far to the right as I could and there was hardly any traffic that early. Yes, it was still kind of dark out, but the scooter has a headlight and I could see fine.

Then a couple other cars started honking too, which honestly just made it feel like people have already decided scooter riders don’t belong on the road.

I’m just trying to get to work. Not everyone wants to drive everywhere.

And before anyone says I was holding up traffic, it’s not my fault Lime limits the scooters to 16 mph. I had the throttle pushed down the entire time.

The only part that was actually kind of sketchy was getting onto 183 because the entrance ramp is pretty long and people were coming up behind me really fast.

I just wish drivers could be a little more considerate instead of immediately assuming the scooter rider is the problem.
