I have never seen a cat do that before. Congratulations on your adorable freak. Long may he hang.

What even was the thought behind this painting?

apparently dalí said he was inspired by watching camembert melting in the sun. but the fact that it’s called the persistence of memory gives you some indication, i reckon.

Someday, i would love to meet the bee holder.
I've heard many good things about their eyes.

This is peak r/danglers, surely. The ratio of supported cat vs free dangling can’t be bettered.

u/Long_Run6500 7h ago
My malamute mix likes to do that. I guess it's just more proof that huskies and malamutes are just dogs running on cat software.

Oh wow I’m so happy this is a thing. My little one loves to dangle her two front paws off of things, I call he my dangle lady. The best is when I pick her up and she puts her arms out like Superman.

Lil man's just trying to decompress his spine so he can stay limber.

Speaking as a human who has recently had surgery to decompress their spine, I agree and would encourage you all to stretch your backs, too. 😂

I have two shattered vertebrae and a compressed disk. I'll take a hard pass. Otherwise I will always applaud your intention.

A friend of mine had an ulcer and liked pressure on her abdomen to relieve symptoms. Maybe there’s something going on with this cat where the pressure provides relief.

My cat does this too! She learned it from her brother who would perch on top of chairs all day.

Is his name Heimlich?
•
u/qwibbian 1h ago
I came here to make the same joke, but now I'm actually starting to think that's a pretty good name for a cat.
•
u/K-Shrizzle 7h ago
One of my cats loves to chase his own tail. He will also lean over the back of a chair and try to catch his tail on the other side.
Often times this results in the chair tipping over, so I had to wedge a box in between the chair seat and table so it wouldnt tip. This is what my life has become.

When it hits the spot, it hots the spot.
Can't judge him, I've looked stupider in different sittinf/sleeping positions but my body really yearns for that specific one sometimes.

Probably feels incredible taking all the tension off his spine. I got an inversion table and now my cat is obsessed with getting held up by his back legs and dangled.

there's just much fun being not responsible for one's being...where you are absolved of carrying that mass of muscle, fat and bones cos someone else doing all that lifting...this is deeper (derper) than weightlessness...love being smol enuff to be able to get this level of day ✌️✌️⚡🤘🤞🫰🫰👾

Hahahaha he hangs himself like an old shirt or a pair of pants…. What a weirdy… I just love him OP! What’s this boys name! When did he start doing this?!
•
u/TangibleSausage 7h ago
Perhaps he dreams of an existence as a kitchen towel? Have you tried using him to wipe the table?

Black cats are one step behind the Orange ones. I think they have two brain cells. At least mine does. Pretty cute.

•
u/IgnorantGenius 5h ago
Have you thought about telling your vet? This can be just weird cat behavior, but I can't help but thinking this is relieving for them in someway of some kind of discomfort.

“That’s….fuckin’ weird, yo.”
“Don’t kink-shame!”
“I’m not kink-shaming! I’m kink-asking why!”

Someone definitely posed the cat like that. Very sus. If he had gotten into that position by himself he would be facing the other way
