I just got this baby and I had NO idea what she was coming in. I tried to ask what but received no response.
When I saw it I was literally SHOCKED
Fake grass, moss hide, single stick, Tupperware for a water bowl. Not even a lid
I went to my local pet store and got coco, heating mat, wood, water bowl, and two hides.
Is there anything else I should get?
I have some lighting I could use but I’m not sure of how to put it up because the pvc tank doesn’t have a mesh top.
I researched into these guys a lot, but I’m very shook out of my thoughts and right now because of how much I just spent, sort of tight on money.
What are we thinking I can do to make her life better?
(Her eyes are okay, she has eye caps because I believe she just shed)
Check the guide pinned in the sub, it has all that you need. Did you order her? You really should have everything set up before getting the snake, but it’s too late so just do as much as you can.
She’ll need two hides, clutter to give her coverage. Heat mats aren’t recommended with PVC, it doesn’t transfer well. You’ll want to mount overhead heating with a cage inside the tank connected to a thermostat. Same thing with any overhead lighting.
It’s not cheap to do a good setup unfortunately. We custom built our setup and still getting everything before snake was probably $500+.
What size vivarium. Main thing is a heat source, warm and cool side some homemade hides if you are tight on money and then add to the collection as and when. This is mine I only had him for a couple weeks and couldn't keep him in the old vivarium as it was inadequate sk immediately upgraded
