Dishes for feeders
Hey guys! I've got a ball and a hognose who both do frozen thawed rodents. I thaw them out in the same bowl every time they get fed but my question is ...do y'all wash reptile/rodent dishes with your regular dishes? Do you use the same sponge? Or do you use separate sponges to clean them?
I wash my water dishes separately and use a paper towel to clean those but I'm just uncertain about the bowl I thaw the rodents in.

I use the same "rodent thawing mug" every time. Partly for convenience (I keep it with the rest of my reptile stuff) and also for my family's peace of mind.
I'd still drink out of it after a run through the dishwasher though. Like how my dog has his own dedicated bowls. After washing, they're functionally the same as any other bowl, but most people feel some kind of ick about eating from "the dog's bowl." 🤷

I have an old butter container that I heat the rats in or a ceramic plate they sit on to get blow dried. I wouldn't use the butter container again, since it's plastic and filled with steaming hot rat soup water every 2 weeks, but I would reuse the plate if it had been washed good. Basically, anything they fit in/on and whatever you're comfortable using

I always put my rats in a platic bag first when I heat them up, no I don't have to really clean the container.

I use the same Tupperware that I would put my food in 🤷 it's basically the same as any other meat in my mind, so long as the Tupperware has been cleaned, I don't really care if I had thawed a rat or two with it.
