My boy finally broke his hunger strike 🥳
I got my first snake around the end of July and he REFUSED to eat since I got him. I tried every suggestion I could find online but nothing worked. Finally last night I left a mouse in his tank overnight again and this morning it was gone. Go figure right after I ordered some slightly smaller mice in case the ones I had were too big or something.
I’m thinking it was potentially because I got him from a not very good pet store that apparently buys reptiles and then immediately resells them. I didn’t know their reputation at the time since I didn’t see anything online about that and only found out when I was visiting another local pet store a couple weeks later.

Awesome!! Watching them eat and grow is so satisfying. Make sure you log the dates of the feedings / sheds, weight of food and weight of the snake. You will be so surprised at how fast they grow. Once they get into a routine of eating, they will also learn when to go. Then you can handle without stressing about them exploding pee or poop all over you. Enjoy! Â
