Unexpected Influence

A friend of mine’s adult daughter came to visit me today to see our new dog. She showed up barefoot. I have known her since she was a little kid and have only ever seen her in shoes and socks (occasionally slides or Birkenstocks but always in socks). I called her on it, and she laughed and said that she was trying something new and knew that I would approve.
Not sure if I influenced her or not, but I thought it was pretty cool.

At this point seeing her try it and being comfortable around others straight away makes it a win in my book

What I noticed that most of people are too shy to go barefoot. But the moment somebody in the friend group does it, it brakes that barrier.

Yes, this is very much a phenomena - just takes the 1 person to break the trend. I often like to think my being barefoot leaves an impression on others that may inspire them to do the same, especially younger people. I'm sure some parents get annoyed because they know their kids are gonna want to do the same now lol

Good for her! I love people who are unafraid to try new things. We need more of that! Follow your Bliss…
