The Rams sold over 11 years of sold out stadiums with high ticket prices up until he took the team over and intentionally tanked them to the time of winning about 4 games in 2 years. I say intentionally because that was documented in court, as was his intention to move the team from day one in 2010.

Whether or not you sell tickets does not matter to him it's all about valuation.

The Angels are currently the 10th most valuable team. They're already in one of the best spots for a professional team, and it helps that the city of Anaheim will bend over backwards to keep them here. I have no idea why you think they'd move to Nashville but I also understand you're still salty about him moving the Rams.

The Rams did not sell out games in Los Angeles prior to the move to STL and faced local blackouts because of it. From 82-94 they averaged less than 60k every single year with them failing to break the top 10 in 15 consecutive seasons prior to the move.

St. Louis had a similar 55k on average after Kroenke had already decided to begin relocating in 2010, which was a very public rumor. Even then, that was 5 years.

Not going to happen. He owns the land now that Angel Stadium sits on. He'll create a stadium district and new ballpark. Though to unlock tax breaks he'll have to rename the team to the Anaheim Angels again.

They never closed the deal with Anaheim over the stadium that is why its kind of in disrepair. I would be assuming after the deal closes with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment they would move to negotiate with Anaheim about purchasing the stadium and grounds around it.

I know it's a sore subject in St. Louis, but I would probably move the team out of Anaheim if I was him. The Dodgers are such a monopoly there now. The case for sticking around is if Walter is forced to sell the Dodgers and whatever comes out of that.

Edit: I should add I don't think Nashville is the right home for them either.

Angels are the OC team. Dodgers are LA. People outside LA don't realize this. OC is a way bigger market than Nashville, which has a population of 750,000. No way moving to Nashville makes any financial sense.

There's pent up demand for a good second team in the LA market. Dodgers are a good org but the tickets are pricey and the stadium is inconvenient to deal with. There aren't many places in So Cal that can move 30k cars out of a stadium with immediate freeway access like Anaheim.

From the day that Stan kroenke purchased the St Louis Rams court documents show he began planning for a move to Los Angeles to maximize the franchise valuation. This is proven, he never intended to keep them there because they'd be worth more elsewhere. Not even St. Louis giving him money and land would stop him, he broke NFL and Contract law to make it happen.

Make of that what you will. Are the halos worth more in Anaheim in an older stadium with a smaller fanbase or in a new stadium in a market they dominate? Tread carefully. I hated Arte but I wouldn't be celebrating this personally.

Kroenke also likely won't get much public funding for a new stadium in Anaheim (which, mind you he did beg for in STL and made them spend money despite them building privately in LA) whereas Nashville, SLC, Portland, etc would likely roll out a red carpet of deals.

Anaheim will never be the maximum value of a franchise as long as the dodgers are close. They are worth about $2.75b and they could easily beat that in a shiny new owned stadium near Broadway in Nashville I think.
