Romantic/Cosy restaurants in Bath?

In October, it’s my partner’s and my 3-year anniversary, and we are going for a day out in Bath. At the end of the day, we are planning to go for an anniversary dinner. We’d like it to be a bit fancy, where we can dress up. The budget is £100 for both of us, including drinks.
Ideally, we’re looking for a restaurant serving British or French food. Italian would be good too. However, I’m open to other options. The main thing I’m looking for is a nice, romantic and cosy, candlelit dinner vibe.

Wedding Ceremony in Bath Guildhall

We are thinking to book a wedding ceremony in Guildhall. I couldn’t find anywhere on their websites whether the provide any minimal in the ceremony room.
Rooms itself hold a lot of character but I am not sure if they provide any options such as nice chairs, flowers on the registrar’s table or windows. For example, Brunswick room is

I contacted registrar office but it sounded like we will have room for 20 min (ceremony duration). I am going to follow up with them but curious what other people experience were with ceremony in Bath guildhall.
Appreciate any feedback.

Pumpkin spice lattes in Bath?

Please don't make fun of me - I know it's basic but I LOVE them! I used to drink the Starbucks ones but am trying to avoid Starbucks (and similar big chains like Costa, Nero, etc.) and instead focus on local cafés. :) Does anyone have a recommendation for a really good PSL in Bath?

Looking for a tug of war rope!

Last minute but I’m trying to source a rope for tug of war for a birthday event this Sunday (6th). I didn’t realise how expensive it would be to buy one (as it needs to be strong enough and suitable for adults, and I don’t trust the cheap ones online that look like they are for primary school kids)! So I thought I’d chance it on here in case there are any groups or people whom I could hire from :)

Water bills in Bathwick – what do you pay monthly for a 1-2 bed flat (2 occupants)?

Hello friends! 😊 I’m just curious and thought I’d ask here.

For those living around Bathwick/Central Bath, particularly in flats (no garden), what would you say is your average monthly water bill for two people in a 1–2 bedroom flat, with fairly normal water usage?

If you have the more technical details, I’d also be really interested to know roughly how many cubic metres (m³) of water you use per month.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi All.

I'm looking for some old and therefore free fence panels in Bath... I'm a bit loath to spend on them as its a temporary project. Don't need to be perfect as i will paint them...

If anyone has any to get rid of or seen any in alleyways etc please let me know.

Thanks.

Trans-inclusive mens formalwear?

I’d like to buy a suit or some swanky formal separates, but I’m a little lost of where to go.

My big problem is despite being a trans man, I’m still pre medical transition so I pretty much look like a butch woman who’s wearing a binder lmao. :(

I really don’t want to walk into a spot and immediately be told “sorry, we don’t sell womenswear”, nor do I want woman’s suit in terms of style/fit. Ideally, the kind of spot where they’d treat me like any other customer would be nice.

I also imagine I‘d need a good bit of guidance and some extra tailoring to fit my funny slightly hippy proportions.

Is there anywhere in Bath (or even Bristol) that’d fit that bill? My budget isn’t super high but I’d consider investing for some really good pieces.

Passenger gig in Kingsmead Square now

Don't know him personally, but there's a little gig going on right now. Here's details for those who don't know who he is (including myself. Fantastic voice, btw, I'm sure I'll recognize some songs):

Update: Funny how you don't always know the artist behind songs you've heard thousands of times! Everyone converged when he started singing Let Her Go and sang along. Added some footage.

Thank You

My wife and I (from the USA) recently visited England and we both agree the best city on our trip was Bath. The historic sites were impressive, the city was walkable and beautiful, and the people were kind and inviting. Thank you for being an amazing city. We will be back soon!

[Help needed] Filming proposal

Hi everyone, I'm an Australian who is proposing to my girlfriend in Bath on 7 September. I have planned a surprise at a local place and I'd like to secretly film our reaction. The only sticking point is I don't have a spare camera (or extra time beforehand to set up one).

Would anyone be able to help me out? It would be for the morning and a maximum of one hour (plus any effort sending the footage across). If you think you might have a video camera (or even a phone) which I could use for the occasion, I'd be very grateful.

Happy to share more information for anyone who may be available.

Moving to Redland Park, Twerton. Is it safe for small adults?

Hi! I starting my studies in bath this september and i didnt get a slot in the uni accommodation, so i opted for private housing. I got anxious and desperate to find housing since ill be moving from asia to the UK in less than a month and agreed on a houseshare in twerton. After agreeing, I THEN did research and found out how sketchy the place is. I am quite scared tbh, as i am a small muslim woman. Or has the place changed as the reddits post are like 2-3 years back? what should one do to keep themselves safe from getting mobbed by bigger white children?

update: OMG thank you you guys for reassuring me 😭😭 i am such an overthinker, but i think ill be alright after reading all the comments 🥺 you guys have been so nice and encouraging. thank you truly, hope all of you have a never ending amazing day everyday 🌅🌈

Blue flashy emergency services lights near bog island at 4:40am

I live somewhere overlooking the central north east of the city, I can hear plenty of sirens from afar and at least 2 or 3 sets of lights. If anyone is nearby I'd love to know what's going on.

Can anyone recommend a roofer in Bath who'll be happy to do a targeted/emergency repair

Hi there - would anyone be able to recommend a reputable local roofer who'd be willing to do a smaller repair in Bath? We have some localised water ingress that occurs during heavy rainfall, and it's proving difficult to find a firm that's willing to do much short of a full reroof. Completely appreciate that for a lot of businesses a patch repair isn't worth their time, and I'm well aware a reroof will be needed in the short to medium term, but right now I just need this issue fixed so it doesn't continue to damage my freshly plastered bedroom while we shop around for reroof quotes.

(inb4 "why did you plaster when there's water coming in!?", we had some patch repairs done a couple months ago by a reputable local firm, were assured the thing was "watertight", it rained a couple times with no water ingress, plastering happens, AND NOW THIS IMMEDIATELY)
