HOT LOCAL ISSUES Found Dogs
Found in the Park Oaks subdivision off Coursey. I have them in my backyard. I have taken them to get scanned. They are not chipped.

Welcome to the monthly Buy / Sell / Trade thread for the Baton Rouge area. Whether you're looking to score a deal on a video game or movie, find a roommate, or trade something local, this is the spot to share your listings and links! Gofundme links are allowed; however, they will be reviewed.
Just a quick note: to keep things tidy, please keep all buy / sell / trade posts in this thread. Standalone posts in the subreddit will be removed so everything stays easy to find.
Happy swapping!
Before moving forward with any deal, it's a good idea to check out the post and comment history of the person you're chatting with. If their account looks new or doesn’t have much activity, that doesn’t always mean something’s wrong but it’s smart to ask for extra proof of the item, just to be sure.
Trust your instincts and do a little due diligence. Services like SpyDialer can help verify phone numbers. VOIP or out-of-state numbers can sometimes be red flags (though not always).
If you're meeting in person, aim for a public spot with lots of people and/or security. A great option is the Police Station on Airline (the one near the old Women’s Hospital). Try to avoid meetups at someone’s home or a random gas station. Bringing a friend along is always a plus.
And finally, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is, don’t hand over any money until you’ve seen the item in person. Do not pay for something with gift cards!

For a hundred points (eyes on your own papers):
What’s the hole in the wall that every kid in BR stuck their snotty little fingers in?

I’ve always use redstickmusic.com.com to find who is playing at local venues in town on nights.
Apparently, that website has been shut down now. I hate that!
Are there any alternatives that I don’t know about that you can find that information all in one place?

Hi all,
My due date is estimated to be on March 13th, 2027. I’m a teacher in Louisiana. With only getting 6 weeks I’m worried about having to take FMLA. That leaves me with about a month left of school that I’ll have to take FMLA for. I won’t really have sick days or PTO to take. It will be right before summer so idk if FMLA continues through summer or I get normal pay. My district does payments during leave but they take from other months.
A few questions:

My husband and I are looking for a better place to live that is also closer to my work. It must allows pets.
Preferably has a yard of some sort (a small yard is fine).
I work off of Highland, so ideally some place around that area (or at least avoiding I12)
House or apartment
Around $1200 per month
Minimum 2 bedroom
I looked on Apartments.com, but I know some times hidden gems aren't posted.

Like the title says, does anyone know of a crochet or fiber art club/community that is open to new members? I have looked online and but I cant find anything.
I know beggers cant be choosers but I would prefer something with people around my age (23) if possible. Im desperate to make friends and meet new people with similar interests.

Went to George’s Place this weekend and parked in one of their designated parking spots. When we left, I saw tickets on like 10+ cars that were all parked legally. The meter maid straight up admitted the guy before her messed up and ticketed everyone by mistake. She called her supervisor, couldn’t void them right there, took all the tickets, and told us to call Monday so they could fix it.
Well… Monday comes, I call, leave a voicemail, and then I check Google reviews. Apparently they never call anyone back.
Anyone here ever dealt with this parking company? Do they hit your credit if you don’t pay a ticket?

One of my favorite restaurants to get fried rice, Market St Nagoya Cafe on Market St off Jones Creek, closed earlier this year (rip). It was such a comfort food for me. Is there anywhere that compares when it comes to fried rice?
If you’ve never had the pleasure of trying Nagoya, what’s your favorite place to get fried rice in Baton Rouge ??

Been gone from Baton Rouge since 2018, moved out to Houston and now I’m strongly considering moving back. Houston sucks. Has Baton Rouge changed that much? I hear it’s gotten very dangerous, if true, what areas do you all suggest?

My mother is selling her house and looking for a nice apartment. Her budget is pretty good, I think, around 2000-2500/month. She’s nervous about living alone and would like to be somewhere with some security, but isn’t ready to move into an independent living community. A lot of her friends and activities are near Bocage or Perkins, and she’s not wild about driving, so those areas would be good.
Does anyone know of an apartment complex they’d recommend? Searching online, it looks like a lot of the new apartments advertised as secure and “luxury” are really aimed at LSU students, which is probably not her vibe.
Thanks, y’all, for your help.

I’ve been seeing the same psychiatrist for about 3 years for anxiety and depression. He pretty much told me that he doesn’t know what else to do to help me since I’ve been on about every medication and is going to try to figure something out. That was Thursday and I still haven’t heard from him. He is at the Baton Rouge Clinic. I am I therapy twice a week also. I am going through a rough season in my life and would like to seek a second opinion. Who do you recommend? I know most doctors don’t like to prescribe, but I have been on benzodiazepines for over 10 years daily. Thanks in advance!

Speaking of BR traffic, why was Jefferson completely repaved from Bluebonnet to the interstate? Seems like it started a couple of years ago. It seemed perfectly fine to me.
