I respect each and every competitor of battlebots over the years, but one thing that I don't understand are bots in the modern era that can't self right or drive invertability properly. You would think that wouldn't be an oversight given how much time and preparation gets put into making a 250 pound bot, but it's so frustrating seeing fights end quickly simply because they get stuck.

Notably Bombshell in both season 3 and 4, especially the season 4 design. No wonder they went 0-4 in both those seasons and probably could have won at least some fights with one simple fix. Or maybe it's more than just "one simple fix".

I don't really watch NHRL except some shorts. Is Team Shreddit still active in NHRL?

I have recently been put in charge of a battle bot team. And the thing is that I have no idea what we’re doing. We have a $1200 budget (it could increase) but I have no clue on how to even get started in the process of building an actual functional robots. Does anyone have like a general structure as to how they go about building one of these from scratch? Motor ideas? Batteries? Pulleys? Wheels ? Remote controls? The drivers? If you could send me down the right path or give any insight or advice it would be greatly appreciated

This is moreso about smaller weight classes, but I remember hearing either from an NHRL interview or podcast that builders of Big-wheeled bots formed a tight-knit community; and it got me thinking: what other styles of robot tend to form these kinds of groups?

The Twins have 2 KOs to Copperheads 1 KO.
However, Copperheads KO time over Jackpot of 152 seconds is faster than those of the Twins, which are 179 and 161 seconds. So if Copperhead beats the Twins by JD do they win the group because they have the fastest KO time? Or do the Twins advance since they have 2 KOs and Copperhead has just 1? I'm a bit confused as to who moves on in this scenario.

Axe Backwards vs Pain Train

Both are pretty below average drum spinners, but they have a couple of good fights (AB vs Capt. Shred., Pain Train vs Yeti).

Both their drums are also heavy. Pain Train's drum was 78 lbs while AB's drum is i think 100 to 110 lbs.

This is a hypothetical right now as neither are done with schedules. It makes sense that calypso doesn’t keep tombstones loss, and it would be unfair to madcatter to give them an extra fight to qualify for the tournament. Would madcatter having 3 wins trump calypsos 2 or would it come down to average KO time. Assuming both go undefeated and one makes it in and the other is a wildcard, how would seeding work in the bracket? I don’t know if im just not familiar with heat rules or if this is a odd situation. Any idea?

Episode 9 got 157K views in a single day, making it the best first day any episode has gotten so far. Has already eclipsed episode 8's viewership in just 24 hours. Really good views overall, with every episode hitting 140K.

just a warning, it's kind of a slog to get through with around 1k comparisons needed to complete the whole thing. nothing i can do about it unfortunately

Despite going 0-3 in the pro-league they put on a show in every fight, with no short/boring fights (going at-least 2:30 in each). I think this robot is much better than their record at pro-league would indicate. It is very durable, has a strong weapon, and of course it has ACE the greatest minibot of all time. The jack shaft and the 3D printed wheels proved to be significant points of failure. Once those are addressed and make a few other improvements this thing will be an absolute monster. Overall I think this may be a watershed tournament for them. It sucks that this bot and team got snake bitten so much this tournament. Respect to team Jackpot, they will be back here again.
