I appreciate how much space Berlin gives to murals, graffiti, and street art. Even ordinary residential buildings become something worth stopping for.

Spotted these incredible murals near Eastgate in Marzahn, and they made a gray day feel a lot more colorful.🎨😍

I took this photo in Berlin Ku’damm and couldn’t decide which version I liked more.
The monochrome version makes the architecture feel a lot more dramatic, while the original really captures that bright Berlin sky.

Unten rechts in der Ecke sind Gerüstbretter zu sehen, gleich links daneben das Vormontagegerüst für die Kugel die später in Teilen nach oben gehoben wird. Das Stadtschloss ist abgeräumt, dort ist ein großer Aufmarschplatz entstanden. Links davon über dem Marstall das neue Staatsratsgebäude mit der Kopie des Portals IV des ehemaligen Stadtschlosses (Liebknechtportal). Das erste Deutschlandtreffen fand vom 27. bis 30. Mai 1950 in Ost-Berlin statt, organisiert von der FDJ der DDR als gesamtdeutsches Treffen. An ihm nahmen 700.000 Jugendliche teil, darunter 30.000 aus der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Im Hintergrund die Ruine des Stadtschlosses die noch im September des gleichen Jahres gesprengt und abgeräumt wird.
