Introduction to Kenosis AI

Why app is unique and how is it different? This is the only AI on the Google Play Store app without INTERNET permission or any other networking related permission (it literally can not call home). It has no ads, no trackers, no analytics and no subscription - one time payment only for all future improvements and new features).

What it does? Huh, a lot and it's super fast (works on GPU and even NPU for some features on supported SoCs - more than 30tok/s on 3y old Snapdragon, mid range devices with low RAM will still be usable for most of the features). AI chat is fast and FUN, as it gives you ideas and then build upon responses.

Strongest point is RAG - chat about pdf, epubs,... RAG is very fast on NPU for supported devices.

It work nice as an ebook reader with natural voices (plenty of languages and narrators supported). It can make an Audio book from ePub or other documents. It supports export of srt subtitles of ingested videos or audio files.

It all started as an offline/ondevice Tiktok transcription to chat, subtitle generator/exporter. Per example you get Tiktok link that is to long to watch so you send downloaded video locally to Kenosis AI (share intent) so it can use local AI to extract text and then it can summarize or explain in details, and of course available for followup questions.

Voice input is NOT supported at the moment due to strong privacy context and intention to use as least permissions as possible. We recommend FUTO keyboard as it's also a privacy-first keyboard app, but any other keyboard app with 🎤 will work.

And now the privacy part:

• no INTERNET permission in manifest, no networking related permission
• all it generates and loads sits inside app's encrypted-at-rest storage — AES-256-GCM keyed by the Android Hardware Keystore. On devices with a hardware-backed KeyStore (TEE/StrongBox), the encryption key never leaves the secure element, so the data is unreadable even with root access: root can read the ciphertext blobs, but without the hardware key the plaintext is unrecoverable.
• it comes with an in-app keyboard because keyboards call home usually - it can disable screenshots, copy or export of data
• only 5 permissions for basic usability - fact check all this via Play Store -> About this app -> App permissions -> "See more", or vie εxodus "The privacy audit platform for Android applications". While you are checking, look out other AI apps, you'll be amazed how much we are different.

Goal: Release the v1 app to production. I've been working on a social app called Morrow for about seven months now and I finally launched it a couple of days ago. I'm looking for some people who would be willing to try it and give me some feedback.

Morrow is a social network where you have more control over what you see instead of an algorithm deciding it for you. Everything is shown newest first.

When you first join, you have a normal feed where you can discover posts from everyone. As you start following people, their posts appear in your feed first. Once you've caught up with the people you follow, the feed continues with posts from everyone else, so you don't just hit an empty feed.

Then there are interests and topics. You can browse interests to find topics you're interested in and follow those topics.

Anyone can also create a new topic. When you create one, you automatically become its moderator and can manage it yourself. This is one of the main things I'd really like people to test.

One of the main features of Morrow is Mixes.

When you're following different topics, you can combine them to create your own custom feeds. For example, you could combine a programming topic, an indie games topic and a sci-fi topic into one Mix. You decide which topics belong together and can create different Mixes based on what you want to see.

Posting to topics is meant to be really simple as well. You don't have to keep navigating into different communities just to post something. When you're writing a post, you can choose which topic you want to post it to directly from the composer.

There are also profiles, following, comments, notifications and private messaging, including group messages.

The main things I'd really like people to test are creating topics, following topics, creating Mixes and posting to topics. I'd especially love to see people create topics around things they're genuinely interested in.

I also want to be clear that Morrow is very new. It's only been live for a couple of days, so there will be bugs and probably things I haven't noticed yet. If you find something that doesn't work, something confusing, or something you think could be better, please let me know. I'm here and actively working on it, so I'll be fixing problems as they come up.

There aren't many people on Morrow yet either, so it will be quiet at the moment. That's one of the reasons I'm looking for early testers.

I am not looking for general feedback, I have one design decision I got wrong and I want
outside opinions before I change it.

The app sends push notifications: price alerts, filing alerts when a Congress member or a
company insider trades a stock you follow, and a morning briefing. All five notification
preferences currently default to **off**.

The reasoning at the time was that defaulting notifications on is hostile and people
resent it. The result is that onboarding sets you up with a watchlist and then the app
never speaks to you again unless you go into settings and turn something on. Almost
nobody does. Out of my user base, roughly three people have ever enabled one.

So the app's entire value, which is "you do not have to go looking", is switched off for
almost every user.

The options as I see them:

1. Default the filing alerts on and leave the rest off. Filings are rare, maybe a few a
   week, so it is not spammy.
   
2. Ask during onboarding, as one explicit screen, with the OS permission prompt right
   after.
   
3. Leave the defaults alone and instead make the settings screen impossible to miss.
   
4. Default everything on and let people turn it off, which I dislike but which is what
   most apps do.
   

What I would like from anyone here: install it, go through onboarding as a new user, and
tell me at what point you would have expected to be asked about notifications. If you
were never asked and did not notice, that is the most useful answer of all and please say
so.
