Hey guys, I’m new to biking this season and I’m loving it! I don’t have the budget to get a proper bike fit at this time but I would love some opinions!

Here is my 2021 GT grade expert in size medium. I am approx 5’6-5’7, 162lbs. I know I’m on the lower end of the size range for this frame. I have shortened my stem from 80mm down to 60mm due to feeling like I was reaching too much.

I was thinking of possibly getting a straight carbon seat post rather than the 20mm offset one currently on my bike. My saddle is currently all of the way forward.

I don’t seem to have any glaring issues other than having sitting bone discomfort after approx 40km rides.

I’m looking for feedback on my fit. I’m experiencing persistent comfort issues and can’t seem to dial in my setup.

Rider Stats:

Height: 197 cm (6'5")

Weight: 100 kg (220 lbs)

Sit Bone Distance: 14.5 cm

Bike Setup:

Bike: Specialized Roubaix Comp (Frame size 61)

Cockpit: 100mm stem (+6° rise), 30mm spacers

Seatpost: 0mm offset (straight seatpost)

Saddle: Ergon SRS Women m/L (Better Feeling than Allroad Core Comp and Sq Labs 612 active)

Main Issues:

Bib Chamois Displacement: The chamois pad keeps riding up/shifting backwards over the rear of the saddle. This causes me to sit right on the hard edge/seam of the pad instead of the cushioned center, leading to sharp pressure pain under my sit bones (no numbness, just direct bone pressure).

Back & Neck Pain: I get uncomfortable tension/pain in my neck, upper back, lower back, and butt after riding and while riding.

Gear Tried: I’ve tried multiple bib shorts (including Gorewear, Assos, Siroko) up to XXL, but the pad movement and pressure issues remain.

In the attached video, I'm riding at a normal pace on the hoods.

Now that that has been addressed, any advice for someone who has only ever hopped on a bike without thought to sizing/fit? I was given this bike and I love her so very much and want to make sure I’ll remain comfortable.

Hi all,

I'm new to cycling (my only prior experience was with a cheap foldable bike from Amazon where the saddle was too low and caused IT band irritation on both knees). I also have CAM + pincer morphology in both hips (so hip sockets too deep, not enough external rotation) which led me to buy a hybrid bike (Carerra Crossfire 2) for a more upright riding position.

Planning to use this exclusively for indoor training. I am not sure I'll ever get into racing, more likely to use for structured workouts and progressive overload along my other strength and conditioning training, VO2 max intervals/long steady state etc.

I'd be very grateful for some opinions on my bike fit.

I've changed the stem with a riser since the stock one caused me to lean forward on the handlebars too much, was uncomfortable. This feels much better.

I didn't even own good shoes (my trainers kept sliding off the pedals). I've now bought some cycling shoes but don't trust myself to install the cleats and clipless pedals. So far the shoes seem to work well with the stock pedals but did some max effort 15s intervals today and feet came off the pedals.

Currently my knees feel fine, back too, but I've only used the bike 4 times for 1h long rides. The bib makes it a bit more comfortable but still feel the saddle digging in a bit (the spirit level shows it's level, maybe 2 degrees off)

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

So- I know this is an Aero bike but still, after more than 80km my neck starts hurting and it stays for days. Normally for longer tours I have my more comfortable gravel bike but am still wondering if there are tweaks to be done to help my neck pain on this bike. I‘d really appreciate some insight :)

Bonjour à tous. Actuellement je roule sur un Orbea h40 avant en taille 55. Malgré un changement de potence plus courte 110mm>80 mm, je trouve toujours le vélo trop grand. Une sensation d' étirements constamment présente. Je roule au plus bas des entretoises. Je fais 1.80m et 84 cm d' entrejambes.

Je compte changer de vélo pour la fin d' année et j'ai en vue le supersix evo ( je suis monté dessus en taille 54 et j'étais plutôt bien). Il a aussi le spécialized tarmac sl7 en 105.

Pouvez-vous me dire sur quoi vous roulez avec taille du vélo et du cycliste et comment jugez vous la cohérence de l' ensemble ?

Hi everyone, I recently got a pair of Fizik Vento Proxy Wide shoes in size 44. Unfortunately, no store near me had them available to try, so I took my measurements and ordered online.

As soon as I put them on, I immediately noticed a huge difference in width (I used a Decathlon model as my first shoe, also a size 44). However, I noticed that from the top of my foot to the bottom of the shoe, there's a thickness of about an inch, almost 2 cm.

By adjusting and tightening the shoe normally, my heel doesn't slip out. The width is comfortable, and my foot doesn't slide forward. Do you think I should go down a size anyway?

I then checked my Decathlon shoes again and noticed that the toe-off is the same, but the sensation is very different because the shoe is much narrower, so I hadn't noticed it before (I tried these in the store, and the smaller size was really too tight).

What do you recommend, based on your experience? They arrived just in time for the bike fitting on Friday. I don't think I can return them and get another pair...

I recently picked up Cervélo Soloist MY27 in size 54 cm and didn’t expect my journey will end before it even started.

I took the size 54 cm because of inseam 84.5 cm and advice from bike shop. I did only a short test ride of previous Soloist model and ordered this one without even looking at Cervélo website. Thought assumed 54 cm is size M as it is in Canyon Aeroroad. Apparently it is not and with my 181 cm their website suggests size 56 cm. Since I only noticed it, this bike feels small for me.

Pedals are not installed yet because either I will try to sell it or returned it (I doubt shop will accept exchange for bigger size). From that reason I can’t also have any outside ride.

Looking for any suggestions how to fix this.

I am not looking for actual bikefit help. Just want to determine if I can ride this bike or should I get a larger size frame. For reference, I am 181cm(5’11) and have a 83cm(32.7in) inseam.

I went on a 3h bike ride on it without any adjustments on the bike or the cleats and other than my left foot feeling numb sometimes I had no pain or discomfort but since I am a total noob on this I thought I'd ask. I did feel kinda "crammed" but maybe that is just me not being used to roadbikes. Also, I have a size 46 EU foot and that shit be hitting the wheel all the time, is that normal?

should i buy some positive angle or adjustable stem (for fit only) for some comfortnes to my road bike? I really feel that i should raised my handle bar to get comfort to my back. And yeah, i already do core exercises and flexibility training (yoga) for my back

But after hitting 30, I managed to get below 20 years again. 😂🙌🏼 but it requires a lot of effort

I do feel knee pain in my right knee, and overall feeling like I have to stretch out a lot on my right hip and right side in general

Hand numbness comes after about an hour in the saddle. Everything else feeling okay but not great. And I also don’t know what I don’t know

I want to move my handle bars up and toward me to push me back a little bit and take pressure off of my hands. My current set up is a 50mm stem with 0 rise and handlebars with 30mm rise 5 degree up swing and 7 degree sweep.

do I replace the Stem or the Handlebars?

if I go 60mm stem with 35 degree rise, is that too much? will it goof up my ride?

New-ish bike and struggling to dial in fit. I've always felt this bike is a little cramped, and I've been having lots of pain on the outside of my palms, upper arms, and back of shoulders. Used velo fit on the trainer with the shock locked out. It had me lower the seat about 2 cm in total, lower the bars, and shorten the cockpit. Still feel way too much weight on hands. Seat feels really low, especially on climbs. Ready to give up bc it just hurts and my other bikes don't (and fit very differently).

I got a bike fit about a year ago and after following my physio’s advice everything feels locked in. Except for my balls.

Every 5-10km I have to reach down and push my balls out cause they they’ll slowly get sucked up from my ballsack. It’s not painful but eventually leads to numb dick if I dont get em out.

Anyone ever experience this? My bib shorts arent the best quality to be fair. Would this be the likely culprit or is it more likely to be my saddle width? Rocking a Fizik Argo right now.

I started cycling back in February and bought this bike in April. I absolutely love the bike, but I’m getting lower back pain on every ride.

As far as I can tell, my position on the bike seems pretty decent, but obviously something might be off. I’m wondering if the reach could be too long, or if it might have more to do with my flexibility, hamstrings, or a lack of core strength (or some other adjustment to the bike).

Would anyone be able to give me some advice on my bike fit or position?

Hi, new to road biking and excited to join the community! Found a good deal on a Trek Domane sl5 58 cm. I'm right between sizes of 56 and 58, and I know the general rule is to size down in that situation - but a 56 wasn't available. 6' tall, 33.5" inseam, 6'2" wingspan. My main concern is I have the seat lowered as far as it will go.

I'm looking at several older triathlon bikes, but part of the problem I'm having is finding sizing guides. Most of the bikes I'm looking at aren't included on the lists I'm finding for each manufacturer.

I'm 5' 10", so I seem to be right on the of the top end for most 54cm frames & the low end for most 56cm frames on size charts for other bikes. For instance, I'm riding a 54cm gravel bike for my races, and I'm at the top of the recommended height for that.

My bike inseam is 30", and my shin length is 15". From what I understand means I have short legs & a longer torso for my height.

The other issue I'm running into is I live in the sticks, so almost every bike I'm finding is at least an hour away. I don't want to waste 2+ hours driving just to discover a bike is too big. I don't know how things like aero will come into play with fit. Am I better off just sticking to 54cm frames, or should I keep 56cm on the table?

*Edited to include that this is for a triathlon bike, with the goal of riding in aero position.

FYI It is not my bike, I just tested it on the weekend.
It felt good, but I got slight neck pain, after a few hours in the saddle. I am around 185 cm tall, the bike was a 2027 Reacto 6000 in Size M.
