We have another 12 days to wait, but I hope some of you get out today.

Happy opening day to all who celebrate the best time of year!

Starting a 12 week old Brittany pup ( pheasant prospect)

Hi there, I’m new to bird hunting and have a 12 week old Brittany. I’m looking for some drills I could work with her on. I’m also looking for any free online courses to find week by week drills. Anything from recall, to woah, and everything between.. i’m currently a stay at home mom so I’m home every day with the pup. Her recall is already really good for being so young. I’ve tried utilizing YouTube videos, but I haven’t found much of anything I’m looking for without paying.
Any helpful tips and pointers would be amazing.

This is my boy. I got him about a year and a half ago and am his fourth home. I think he just didn’t get enough exercise… that is not an issue when you’re a dog hanging out with me. He got to hunt with my then 16yo shorthaired pointer (I put her down in March, just before her 17th birthday) and picked up a few things we trained on. While he will point and we’re still working on holding it to shot, at the end of the day I think he’ll just bring them back for me which makes him happy and is fine with me. Anyway, here’s his first retrieve (last year he wasn’t sure what to do with them.).
