Very happy. What a bike.

I’ve been doing a lot of practice with slow speed maneuvers. Haven’t gone on the freeway yet, but I’m doing a rider safety course this weekend to just educate myself a bit more and also for insurance purposes. I wanted a bike I can take on trips and I really have no desire to go over 70-75 mph at any point. Just wanted to be comfortable and be able to take my girl on it once I get enough experience.

Any advice or places to find parts would be greatly appreciated! It is currently running and I paid 1800 if that is of interest to anyone.

Traded in my 2023 Kawasaki z650rs and got myself this new old stock F900R triple black premium - wasted no time doing a tail tidy, swapped over my crg arrow mirrors, and racked up 250 miles over the weekend! Can’t wait til after the break-in service when I can let this thing eat! Absolutely incredible bike and a helluva upgrade from the z!

Hi all, recently i bought this 2006 R1200s with 76k kms. My first oil change showed up these flakes in the oil as I was cleaning up. I immediately tore open the filter but found no metal in the paper or strainer. The metal is ferrous. I know this topic has been covered hundreds of time, but what is the general consensus with this. Im looking to buy another bmw R bike. I currently have a r1100r that I love but its my commuter bike. I want a weekend/long trip touring bike. More storage, better weather protection, and 2up comfort for my wife. Im very torn between the CL and the RT. I know the motors are very different power wise. I think right now im leaning on the CL but I havent driven either one yet. Both bikes in the photos are for sale near me for just over $3k.

Has anyone here owned or riden both? Is the low hp on the CL a problem? Help me decide.

Well it happened. The one thing I was worried about breaking on my new Beamer is the ride height system. I have a little over 6k miles on my 2025 R1300GS. This weekend I got errors on the dash indicating an issue with the AHC system. I ran the recalibrate from my GS-911 which cleared the fault, and everything seems to be functioning normally. When I read the fluid levels it shows just above the low side of tolerance. I am going to call my local (4 hours away) service center this morning to see what I need to do to add fluid to the system, as it doesn't appear its something I can do on my own.

My question is, anyone had this issue and clearing the fault resolved the issue and did not need any additional work? I have a trip planned next month and I have heard some horror stories in waiting for parts.

I'm in the process of changing my 1250RT for a 1300GSA should arrive in 2 weeks. What are they like for corrosion. Both the RT and my old GSA has issues all over the engine so want too hit the ground running with good protection this time round. Are the 1300s any better and what is the best stuff to use I'm thinking muc off HCB-1?

I have a question for the BMW RT experts out there. I bought a 2015 R1200RT this season (with 5,200 miles on it) and have ridden about 3,500 miles on new Dunlop Roadsmart 4 tires over the past couple months.

As of last week, there is a noticeable but relatively subtle humming noise when I lean into a turn slightly that seems to be getting worse. I'm not sure how to ask if this is normal - I reinstalled the wheel (and missed the fork compression step before tightening now the axle pinch bolts.

I just pulled the front axle off and saw there are some lines that go around the axle (not really grooves but noticeable lines). and was sure to do the fork compressing step before tightening down the pinch bolts. The wheel turns smoothly/I don't see anything to suggest a bearing issue and there’s no noise at all when not leaned over a bit.

Sorry, I've been asking ChatGPT and trying to research this but would appreciate any advice since I'm not sure how to tell if this is "normal" or something to evaluate further.

Ok. I’m just going to go ahead and say it. The colour choices offered for the GSA 1300 are pretty average.

As a side note, the weird way the configurator only allows certain options with certain colours is very annoying as well.

I’m about to put in a factory order and am torn between Triple Black, which is not very inspiring (except for the tank finish which I like) or Option 719 Karakoram, which I think is the nicest colour by miles but which will cost me another NZ$3,000 over the black!

Trophy is nice but a white bike seems like a lot of washing and then red which is just, well, red.

Am I alone in finding the colours less inspiring than the bike itself?!

And is a MASSIVELY underrated bike.

I currently ride a gs 1250, i fitted the Wunderlich Komfortaktiv seats cause the OEM were bad after like an hour

The wunderlich are really hard for me and my wife, so i bough a big, long wool sheepskin, we love it but now comes the issue - my pillion keeps sliding everywhere and it's unridable like that

I expected as much, i tried to glue a foam block to get her to stay put but that didnt help

Maybe someone tried something else that worked?

I’m going to be out of town and my bike will be sitting for at least 1.5 months. I don’t have a Li battery trickle charger at the moment so wondering if I need to disconnect the battery or will it be fine?

I’m looking at buying a 2015 s1k with 35k miles on it for 9.5k the bike looks really well taken care of and owner is saying it has been as well. I’m wanting this motor to last a while how reliable are these?

…and it was a nice break from all the dust on the forest roads. Still loving this bike. Best boxer I’ve ever ridden off pavement on BDR type terrain.
