When I run out of vertical, do I stop collecting them?

Already had all the bookcases in my living room, but they filled up & I got some new ones for my bedroom, so after a week of gradual rearranging they’re finally done! These are all the books I’ve ever owned, so lots of reading ages spread throughout. What do we think? No judging my dream harbor shelf, I’m too proud of how it turned out with the little book nook! (Also yes, I decorate for fall early, I love fall)

Containing books I've picked up over the years of learning Japanese - this bookshelf contains the novels I've tried and mostly failed to read (bottom shelf) and the manga I've ended up reading (the rest).

My bookshelf is full, and I haven't read most of the books. Still, I want to get more.

My husband built this wall of shelves. I’m going to get some rotating bookcases for the corners (pictured). Still have nine boxes of books to unpack but I’m tentatively optimistic that I’ll eventually find places for all of them one way or another.

2.5 years into reading

Started with Tolkien's work, then the greco-roman classics and works inspired by them, ancient history, poetry, some medieval stuff, recently started with philosophy

Some relatively simple shelves I made for the house. Select pine from Lowes, cut, routed, sanded, finished. I was going to stain the lighter (smaller) shelves but ended up liking just the simple poly finish. Maybe I'll paint them one day.

The larger shelves are books I've bought and read and loved over the years, the smaller shelves are the "I am easily influenced by the online community" books, ha ha. Honestly though, I've only really got back into reading in the past 12 months or so, but it's been nothing short of wonderful. Such a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Currently enjoying Mistborn, then I think I'm going to start Empire of the Vampire next.

Only...many more to go.

Most of my WW2 books and the rest of our fiction are in the living room bookshelves. This has a few of my WW2 books, all of my reference books, and my patch collection in the binders.

Items are all WW2 original and include some General Purpose ammo bags, an M1936 musette bag, two different styles of grenade pouches, my great uncle’s Purple Heart and ID bracelet (he was a paratrooper who jumped in Normandy with the 507th PIR and was KIA during the Battle of the Bulge), a cold weather/high altitude mask, 2 helmets, 2 M1 Carbine pouches, my grandfather’s M1911 ammo pouch dated 1918 that he carried during the Korean War, amongst others.

I just moved and got this bookshelf recently. I hope to get more books that will force me to get another bookshelf. I also used to have a lot more records but moved over to CDs (I still have my favorite records).

I’ve organized my new bookshelf entirely by size! Honestly, I love it. It mixes genres, puts odd authors next to each other and falls into interesting little clumps of similarity every once in a while. What do y’all think?

Finally all four shelves are up!! I’m planning to get rid of the white one behind the book cart and a brown one that is beside it (I have another plan for that wall and dedicate it to my crochet projects and yarns). I just have to clear the bottom space in the two shelves to the right, so I can move the books over from the two I want to get rid of.

Last time I counted there were 420 I also have a box of extra books that I keep for gifting or leaving at LFL ( little free libraries)

I have books in just about every corner and I’m almost full. I don’t even think I’ll have enough space for all my pre orders, I think in the new year it may be time to drop some of my subs.

I don’t have a lot of matching sets. I buy most books used from Hastings type stores. One day I’ll prioritize matching sets when the kids are older and I can dedicate findings lol. For now I just aim for full sets. The immediate goal is to find all the books I’ve ever read (even from middle school days)
