Finished TOTK first and decided to play BOTW, and these guardians have been kicking my ass. Finally, after sacrificing Link many times through save files, I am able to semi-consistently parry their beams.

Let me know how it is going from years of the kingdom to Botw
People told me I had to play botw first

My initial handicap is that I had maxed hearts and stamina and tons of inventory by the time I finished TOTK (still playing the game to finish everything) so I felt "naked" starting BOTW from scratch, but that's to be expected.
Mostly just getting used to the dynamics of the game VS TOTK. I miss fusing things to weapons/arrows and ascend. One of the first rubies I got I tried to throw at an enemy thinking it would explode, it fell down a hill and I lost it lol. I like the menu layout more in TOTK, but again, maybe that's just because I played that first.

My take on the menu (after only playing TotK sporadically to help my granddaughter out) is that the menu is better. I was worried when I learned you had to fuse things to arrows to specialise their intended affect. That proved to be very easy. Hope you enjoy BotW! I’m having a blast!

When i’m that close to the guardian i always base my parry of the sound it makes right when it fires the beam, i’ve been able to do it blind before just based off of it
