I believe they have those in Europe to let drivers know when the light is about to turn green, and I believe it statistically reduces reaction times and improves traffic flow.

Nope. I think that would cause more confusion, say, if someone didn’t see it was originally red and tries to “punch it”

I'm pretty sure yellow and greed shouldn't be on at the same time when switching to red

Jesus, no there is a delay in traffic lights switching from red to green! Usually the speed limit divided by 10 seconds.
