Wonder if this might keep Bailey around?

So ran through AI asking what our compensation picks would look like if we won the flag and lost both Bailey and Neale and this is what it came up with.

Ai used the reported contract lengths and $ on offer to both players. Surely after Neale being rewarded with another AA this season we couldn’t get an end of second round pick for him. If so I feel we are being screwed big time.

If Bailey does leave I could see us working a trade with the Doggies for Arty Jones with his compensation pick which they’d then send on to Port in the Butters deal.

Probably a bit greedy of me however if we three peat I feel we get unders in compensation for both players. Still want the three peat tho.

Apologies for dumb question. Previously a Gold Member but life, budget and Brendan Fevola got in the way. My wife and I are planning to head to Melbourne if we make the GF - accomodation and flights sorted. We could buy a GA membership for $100 with the conditions shown. I know the September Member is sold out. Is it worth spending the $200 to effectively enter a lottery or should we just enjoy the city, the vibe and watch it externally if we can’t get tickets?

Last time/win v the Dees, Highlights. (The 2025 QF at Ikon. Had a really poor 1st and only managed to kick a point, kicked 3 in the 2nd though and were up by 3 points at HT. Goal up for most of the 3rd with a late one from Hampson getting it above 2 goals and Lions controlled most of the 4th with the margin above 10 points for all but 30 seconds of the quarter. Lions also played and beat the Dees during the H&A season 2 weeks earlier at BHA, Highlights).

Last time/win v the Dees at Casey Fields, Highlights. (W2 2024. Mostly Lions outside of a fairly even 2nd. Lions kicked the first 3 goals. Daks kicked 3 for the game and Ally had 43 disposals. Lions have a 3-2 record v the Dees at Casey Fields and have also won the last 4 v Dees with the last loss being the 2022B GF).

Injury List, Lions version: Anderson (hamstring) 2-3 weeks, Lappin (leg) 3-7 weeks, Lacy (thigh) season, Kennedy (ACL) season. Davidson should be back from suspension. No mention of Hodder again but Starcevich said in the presser after the last game it's a personal issue with no timeframe.

Just the one big decision for Chris Fagan ahead of facing Sydney on Saturday week – who goes out to accommodate McCluggage? The co-captain missed the final three matches of the season but is progressing well and expected to face the Swans. The Lions are loaded with depth should any hiccups occur during September with Bruce Reville, Dan Annable, Keidean Coleman, Linc McCarthy and Will McLachlan all on standby. - Michael Whiting

Six Lions named in 2026 AFL All-Australian Squad and Three Lions made it (Andrews, Morris, Bailey). Charlie, Neale and W.Ashcroft missed out.

Not surprisingly, McKenna is up for the R24 GOTY nom for his 2nd goal of the game which you can vote for here with voting open until 10am Thursday AEST and announced at 1pm Thursday AEST . Slightly more surprising is that Morris is also up for the R24 GOTY nom for his 8th goal. Can watch both here.

Any ideas on what ticket prices are likely to be come 10am Thursday release? Brisbane membership finals section on the app says prices set by AFL. AFL app doesn’t have prices.

If any other club had a back to back premiership captain they'd be AA captain. He's the same age as Jordan Dawson but I think his baby face and nice guy attitude costs him 😭

If you're like me, and you're tired of the Fox Footy commentators (cough* cough* David King) saying that Brisbane can't win it because their profile doesn't stack up and they're outside the premiership window, this post might interest you.

The Lions were extremely hampered by injuries in the early - mid part of Season 2026 and my thinking is that our statistical profile is heavily skewed because of this.

From Round 13 onwards, Brisbane regained key personnel and started to show glimpses of the form all supporters know they're capable of.

This has prompted me to take a closer look into the competition wide statistics from Rounds 13 - 24 to gauge exactly where the Lions currently at.

VIC P1 member here. Over the last couple of seasons the number of finals tickets available per member has changed depending on who we played and where. Geelong at the G entitled us to a max of 4 tickets, against Collingfart we could only get 1 and for the Sydney game it’s 2. Based on previous years, how many were members allocated for finals at the Gabba?
