New build. I've been out of the PC building game for a while; my last was built around 2019.

I'll be using a pair of MSI G274QPF E2 1440p monitors (https://www.msi.com/Monitor/G274QPF-E2/). I also have my audio interface already (a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen).

1. Mostly music production (Bitwig, Ableton Live), with a focus on in-the-box instruments, samples, and effects.
2. Secondarily, lightweight gaming; I'm not concerned about playing the latest AAA games in ultra resolution, but I'd like to be able to play Helldivers 2, Baldur's Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p or (the dream!) 1440p with rock-solid framerates around or even above 60fps. I wouldn't mind being able to play newer games on low-res settings, too.
3. Third, photo editing and video editing. Photoshop/Clip Studio Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc. As long as editing a high-quality RAW image doesn't make my computer uncontrollably cry I'll be happy, and I'm not doing videos professionally so I'm glad to wait a while for renders, but I'd like to be able to do preview-size composition without my fans trying to lift my computer into orbit.

Although I don't expect this is a major concern these days, Linux compatibility is also important.

As mentioned above, a pair of MSI G274QPF E2 monitors; 2560x1440 with nominal 180hz max refresh rate. I'd like some headroom to expand to ultrawides at some point, but that's less critical.

Hi! I'm new to to the pc building community and I am planning to switch gaming-wise to a pc from the HP laptop 15-dy2xxx I am currently using that is running low on storage. The performance on the laptop just isn't that good with certain games, mainly modded ones.

I've collected a couple list from people of reddit. I narrowed it down to one final list but I think I've gotten self-conscious about it because my cousin's friend gave me a list and now I'm not sure what I should buy from.

  • Starting fresh; I have a keyboard and mouse that I plan to replace at a later date to keep costs lower. The keyboard and mouse that are on there are just in case I forget. I know the mouse is not the greatest whatsoever. It's a replacement for the same one I have that has just almost lost its responsiveness for left-clicks.

  • Gaming: I play a mixture of multi- and singleplayer games (almost only indie actually) but I want the multiplayer games to run smoother/with less lag but I also want them to run at a fair resolution like 1080p; REPO, Ultrakill, Lethal Company, Peak, Minecraft, etc. I do often play REPO, Lethal, and Minecraft with a fair amount of mods (I have around 90 mods for Minecraft, basically 40 for Lethal and 30 REPO).
  • Art: When it comes to art (if it matters at all), I've been using mspaint but I plan to transition to Clip Studios Paint.
  • School work: I forgot to add this to all my other post. I'm going to be graduating next year and going to college. I'm not sure what I want to major in yet specifically, but I want to do something within the science category; possibly environmental. I was think of using my laptop of school work and transferring the art and games from it to the pc. I'm not sure if that plan would work though.

Possibly. I have two OLD monitors from 10 years ago that run 1080p I think. But it would be nice to use newer ones if it doesn’t break the bank.

Hello! Need some help building a small/portable PC. Was looking at ITX builds and found this sub. I will be regularly (daily) transporting this build between my home office and a co-working space. I was considering a laptop, but found the price to performance was outside of what I'm looking for.

I’m helping a friend build her new gaming PC and would appreciate some feedback on our current parts list. We can assemble it ourselves. German RAM and SSD prices are currently unusually high, which is why our first idea uses AM4 and DDR4, but I’m unsure whether that still makes sense for a completely new build.

She already has a Full HD 1080p monitor, mouse, keyboard and all other peripherals. Only the PC itself is needed. I do not currently know the monitor’s refresh rate.
PC purpose?
Primarily gaming at 1080p. The main games are Once Human, Palworld and similar co-op, survival, crafting and base-building games.
The goal is smooth performance at high or very high settings, preferably with enough headroom for future games.

My main questions are:
Does the Ryzen 7 5700X with 32 GB of DDR4 still make sense for a new €1,200 gaming build?
Would AM5 with a Ryzen 5 7500F and only 16 GB of DDR5 be a better long-term choice, even though Palworld recommends 32 GB?
Is there a sensible AM5 and 32 GB DDR5 alternative near this budget without sacrificing the RX 9060 XT 16 GB?
Are the motherboard and Endorfy Vero L6 PSU good choices?
Is there anything you would change for better value, reliability or noise levels?
Can the build be brought closer to €1,200 while keeping the predominantly white appearance and similar gaming performance?
