Hi! I'm new to to the pc building community and I am planning to switch gaming-wise to a pc from the HP laptop 15-dy2xxx I am currently using that is running low on storage. The performance on the laptop just isn't that good with certain games, mainly modded ones.

I've collected a couple list from people of reddit. I narrowed it down to one final list but I think I've gotten self-conscious about it because my cousin's friend gave me a list and now I'm not sure what I should buy from.

The specifics:

• New build or upgrade?
  • Completely new build.
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
  • Starting fresh; I have a keyboard and mouse that I plan to replace at a later date to keep costs lower. The keyboard and mouse that are on there are just in case I forget. I know the mouse is not the greatest whatsoever. It's a replacement for the same one I have that has just almost lost its responsiveness for left-clicks.
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
  • Gaming: I play a mixture of multi- and singleplayer games (almost only indie actually) but I want the multiplayer games to run smoother/with less lag but I also want them to run at a fair resolution like 1080p; REPO, Ultrakill, Lethal Company, Peak, Minecraft, etc. I do often play REPO, Lethal, and Minecraft with a fair amount of mods (I have around 90 mods for Minecraft, basically 40 for Lethal and 30 REPO).
  • Art: When it comes to art (if it matters at all), I've been using mspaint but I plan to transition to Clip Studios Paint.
  • School work: I forgot to add this to all my other post. I'm going to be graduating next year and going to college. I'm not sure what I want to major in yet specifically, but I want to do something within the science category; possibly environmental. I was think of using my laptop of school work and transferring the art and games from it to the pc. I'm not sure if that plan would work though.
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
  • I'm buying in the US and I have a Microcenter about an hour away.
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
  • I'm perfectly fine with 1 monitor but I think I would want 2 later on. I'm not sure what to say as far as the resolution and refresh rate. I think I would like a bigger monitor rather than a smaller one.
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
  • The max would have to be $1000; I fine with going a little over but I would prefer to keep it under or just about $1000.
• WiFi or wired connection?
  • Wifi
• Size/noise constraints?
  • I'm perfectly fine with whatever size is needed and I don't mind that much noise, I don't want it be really loud though.
• Color/lighting preferences?
  • I do like ARGB lights but I'd definitely prefer the functionality over aesthetics; I'll be perfectly fine with whatever color.
• Any other specific needs?
  • I don't think there's anything else besides advice and tips.

Guys I am in need of a pc as my old pc got destroyed by rain (along with many other things) during transportation to my new home . The only thing usable left is 8×3 gb of ddr4 ram, my budget is tight as I don't for saw this situation to happen . The budget is close to 70-90k . My work requires me to do clipping, editing, thumbnail and some rendering on blender for profiles . I do have a side line of playing aaa games so I need atleast 12gb of vram for work and I have 2 moniter both 2k ( 1 lg ultragear and 1 benq) so plz consider my situation and reply me as soon and as many as possible for me to get it build Tommorow or day after tomorrow.

For over a decade, I’ve been planning to build my very first PC. For reasons not worth mentioning, I never could, but now that I’m more financially stable, I feel it's finally time.

I’ve saved up some money and started checking out parts to see what’s currently on the market that fits my needs.

My goal is to build a setup that won't need major upgrades for the next 7 to 12 years. The PC will be mainly for couch gaming in the living room, playing either solo or split-screen/co-op with my girlfriend. My budget is between $800 and $1,500 USD, though I can go a bit over if necessary.

Since I’ve dreamed about this for so long, I’ve done tons of research on PC building. Up until now, I stayed strictly on the theoretical side—watching reviews, build logs, and keeping up with new tech—until I finally got the funds to make it happen.

Because I've always used a low-end "potato" PC, my current game list might make you wonder why I need a mid-to-high-end build. The answer is yes and no: while I love these titles, having a solid PC will finally let me branch out into more demanding games.

Notes on specific components:

Case (DarkFlash C275P): Picked this specific model because its dimensions allow it to fit right inside an IKEA Kallax shelf unit.

Cooler (be quiet!): Selected this AIO because it’s one of the few that allows you to refill the coolant, extending its lifespan. That said, I’m not opposed to switching to an air cooler instead.

My main concern is making sure every dollar is spent wisely so I don't have to make any major upgrades in the short term. Any feedback on the components I’ve chosen would be greatly appreciated!

So how much does it cost to get a pc thats as strong or stronger than ps5 and also good for work in general?

Hi, I am looking for a new cpu, but I don’t really know which one to get, I have been looking at some from the AMD 5000 series, especially the 5700X and 5800X3D 10th year anniversary, right now I can get a new 5700X for about 180 dollars and 150 dollars used. And I can get a new 5800X3D for about 390 dollars. It’s a big price jump, and I dont know if I really need the 3D V cache. Right now I play a lot of rdr2 and Arma reforger with mods, and I plan on playing Arma 4 when it comes out. Is there really a difference between the 5600X, 5700X and 5800X? 16GB RAM
ASROCK B365M Pro4

I want an upgrade and am looking at RTX 4060/5060. I know anything will be a major upgrade from 1070 but I’m seeing 5060s for $450 on Amazon and 4060s for slightly less. Not worried about the budget.

If I get a 5060 with an i3, would it more of a nuisance because of the bottleneck or worth it because of the jump in performance compared to my 1070? Would I be needing an upgraded CPU as well to make playing newer titles enjoyable?

Totally new to anything PC related so any advice is greatly appreciated

Hi there, so I finally decided on a 9070 xt.

-1440p gaming build
-My upgrade cycle seems to be every 5-6 years. So short term future proofing is nice as I likely wont upgrade along the way unless necessary.
-I'll never run dual-monitor setup.

My most demanding games would be:
Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6,

I am also looked to get a new monitor. This price is separate from PC budget.

I'm probably looking for a 27 inch, however, I'm also open to a 34inch curved ultra wide screen, but I'm worried if the potential fps loss is worth it?
I generally lock my fps at around 120fps, so I don't know if the high refresh rates are wasted on me?

First time poster (cross posting). Looking for help on upgrading or build/buying new?

I built my first and only PC nearly 10 years ago now. And my current friend group have all just bought new PC's and I'm feeling like I need to join in. Problem is that it's a lot more pricy than 10 years ago and I want to try and be budget conscious.

I'm wondering if what I have here is upgradable? Would it be worth it to buy some more ram and a new graphics card? Or would that just create bottlenecks?

I use my PC for gaming, video editing and graphic design. Noticing lately it's feeling a bit sluggish.

I don't care about gaming at the ultra high end in 4k. I usually game at 1080p medium to high settings trying to maximize smooth gameplay and decent render settings.

Lads i have a Surface Laptop Studio 2 with 16gb of ram and a mobile 4050 and a 13700H and im getting kinda displeased with the performance its outputting. It freezes and i always seem to be at the max of my memory all the time my cpu is always at like 20% when playing so it’s not bad. I have roughly a budget of 900 dollars what should i look for to make a new pc? i want it to beat out my surface and also make it look nice at least at 1440p is it possible or am i dreaming. I won’t sell my current laptop and I already have a monitor so that’s not a concern really. used or new parts work can someone build me a list
