Moderator Announcement: Burlington Municipal Election Discussions

As Burlington approaches the municipal election, we expect an increase in discussion about candidates, policies, and local issues. Healthy debate is an important part of the democratic process, and election-related posts are welcome in this community.

That said, we ask everyone to keep the conversation respectful and focused on the issues.

What is welcome

  • Discussion of candidates and their platforms.
  • Civil disagreement and debate.
  • Sharing reputable news articles, public statements, and official information.
  • Asking questions and sharing personal experiences relevant to the election.

What is not welcome

  • Personal attacks, insults, or harassment directed at candidates or other Redditors.
  • Hate speech or discriminatory comments.
  • False or misleading claims presented as fact.
  • Doxxing or posting personal information.
  • Repeated trolling or attempts to derail discussions.

Moderation during the election

The moderation team is politically neutral. We are not here to decide which opinions are "correct." We are here to ensure discussions remain civil and comply with the subreddit rules and Reddit's Content Policy.

Information Chuck E. Cheese's/Pizza Time Theater Discussion Thread

• Upvotes

I’m interested in hearing from anyone who remembers the Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre location in the city. I’m hoping to collect memories, photos, videos, stories, and information about the location, especially from people who visited it as parents, kids, or even worked there.

If you have photos or firsthand memories, please share them! Even small details could help piece together what the location was like.

Information Statements on the White Nationalist Dominion Event held in Burlington from the Venue (Atrium), Mayor, and City.

TO EVERYONE

We are here on our social media to express a deeply concerning issue we were made aware of yesterday by several concerned citizens. Atrium denounces and rejects the views of all white supremacy groups and encourages the efforts being made by citizens to help others be more aware that these groups exist.

The Atrium and its staff do not represent or support any specific social political view. We are a company that provides the highest quality food and service in the hospitality industry.

Thanks to several concerned citizens calling in and actively protesting we were made aware that a last-minute booking of a film documentary under a personal name was actually a white supremist rally with the explicit intent on spreading misinformation.

This is disheartening and we are truly ashamed to be associated with this in any way. The majority of our company including its owner are immigrants. Some are on temporary work permits others have their permanent residency and are in the process of becoming Canadian citizens. Without immigrants Atrium would not exist.

The only responsible next step for our company is to help spread awareness of this issue. Please be aware that even in 2026, after the many advances and sacrifices made for people to have equal opportunity and rights there are still groups in our communities that intend to move us backwards.

FROM,

ATRIUM FAMILY

-----

I am deeply troubled that a white nationalist anti-immigration organization held an event at a private venue in Burlington. Let me be clear: this is not welcome in Burlington.

We celebrate people of all backgrounds, faiths, and cultures. We reject those who would seek to divide us.

This is a reminder to all businesses to be vigilant and ensure their spaces aren’t used to spread hate.

Our community stands together in supporting the many diverse cultures in our city. You make our city better.

Sincerely,

Mayor Marianne Meed Ward

City of Burlington

-----

The City is aware of reports regarding the conference being held in Burlington. The event is not taking place at a City-owned or City-operated facility.

Burlington is proud to be a diverse and inclusive community. We reject hatred, discrimination and intolerance in all forms. Hate has no place in Burlington, and we remain committed to creating a city where everyone feels welcome, valued, respected and safe.

I made a visit to a local farm this weekend to visit their sunflower field!

Parkside Acres is in Waterdown, Ontario and they currently have a pick your own sunflower field that you can wander through and enjoy.

I made a short vlog style video of my visit here and then to a waterfall in Hamilton, Ontario.

Question Need advice on web related services

Is there anyone who does web related work locally in Oakville/Burlington? Everytime I search up things like this I get taken to agencies. I get on a call and they're charging $1000 a month or something outrageous not excluding set up fee. I just want to turn a business idea I have with my family into fruition. It's related to education or educating seniors on certain topics. All material is ready. At this point it may even be easier to learn myself or watch Youtube videos about it.

Thanks for the help, any advice would be amazing, good afternoon

Question Public urination

What's up with people peeing in public? I've seen it more times than I can count in the past couple of months. It's always men and it's in very public areas. For example today I just saw a man peeing beside me in the Central Library parking lot.

I understand that you might have to go if you're in the middle of nowhere and without access to a bathroom but whenever I've seen it, there's a bathroom less than a minute or two away.

Peeing in public parking lots is not legal in Burlington, we don't want to see your penis!

Rant done!

Question Looking for a good massage therapist in Burlington?

I’ve been feeling pretty tight and sore lately and was thinking about getting a massage. I’m looking for a place that’s professional and actually good, not just a random spa. Anyone in Burlington have a massage therapist they really like? Would appreciate any local recommendations and your experience.

Hi everyone! My fiancĆ©e and I are considering having our wedding at the Marquis Gardens/Waterfront Hotel, and I would love to hear some feedback from anyone that’s attended (or even held!) a wedding there. Question What's up with 1415 lakeshore?

I've noticed a house between the esso on locust and lakeshore and Burlington Rd (1415 lakeshore) has had a large number of people constantly partying at all times of day, front door open, bowflex workout machine and miscellaneous shit out in the yard, etc etc.

I don't really care, I'm just curious! Is it like a hippy commune type thing? Trap house? Just an extended group of friends living it up? Whatever it is, looks like everyone's having a good time šŸ˜‚
