Warning!
There’s a bunch of teenagers causing chaos on Burnaby Mountain. They recently trashed the Nesters and have been banned from most of the businesses up there. The cops are aware and have been reported. They wear young thug punk shirts and claim to have a weapons on them. Apparently they film themselves causing trouble for TikTok
If you are aware of these teens, and know who they are please report it to the police. They are a danger to society.

North Road - Pedestrian Safety Concern
I want to bring up a pedestrian-safety issue around North Road / the Hannam Supermarket–Hanin Village area.
I regularly walk through this area, and I’ve had multiple uncomfortable experiences with vehicles entering or exiting the shopping-centre driveways while I’m crossing.
Today was particularly scary. I was already about halfway across a driveway near Busan Daeji Gukbap when a vehicle approached from the parking area. The car was roughly 10 metres away when I started crossing, so I assumed the driver had seen me and would slow down or yield. Instead, the driver continued forward and passed very close to me before entering North road. I honestly wasn’t even sure if the driver saw me.
On another occasion, a woman turned left from North Road into Hanin Village. There is no traffic light at this intersection, and it can be fairly busy, but she appeared to take the opportunity to turn when there was no oncoming traffic without noticing that we were already halfway through the crossing. She came very close to us.
At this point, I find myself genuinely nervous every time I have to cross here.
I hope the Cities can take a closer look at these crossings and consider whether physical changes could make them safer for pedestrians.

ISO PokemonGo friends!
Hi Burnaby!
I posted this two years ago, but recently picked the game back up so I'm hoping to (virtually) meet some fresh faces.
I'm on the hunt for Pokemon Go friends to exchange gifts with! I'm also open to play in-person if the vibe is right. I mostly play around Edmonds/Highgate, but I'm down to explore new areas as long as they're transit accessible.
DM me if you want to swap trainer codes and play together. Please, no minors. All levels welcome! Bonus points if you're Team Valor so that we can take on gyms together! 🔥

Great location for Dairy Queen. There’s an elementary school right across the street and it’s a high traffic intersection.
(Metrotown) Lost compass card between 12:00-1:00pm
Hello Burnaby community,
On my way home today I realized that I misplaced my compass card. Has anybody found one at the Pricesmart Foods near Metrotown or at the intersection of Kingsway and McKay Avenue?
Thank you in advance!

Looking for fig roll cake
My wife is pregnant and has been craving a roll cake with figs. ...I know this is probably a long shot, but has anyone seen one anywhere in Burnaby?
I tried T&T, local asian bakeries etc but was unsuccessful!

Photo/Video Bobcat at Central Park near the Upper Pond
Just as the title says. Saw it a couple of times while going for a walk. The squirrels and the little tree birds were going nuts. A very, very handsome boy but also kind of glad it didn't get too close (should I have been worried?). Couldn't get too good of a photo sadly.

Possible sketchy person at Kensington Square
Was there earlier and some guy in his car spoke to us as as we were walking from our car in the parking lot. He said he wanted us to go and check the paint code for our car, and that the info is on the inside of the door. His said he needs to know because they don't make that anymore for his car, which was the same colour as ours. But both cars are white and his was a completely different make. We didn't help him because it felt uncomfortable. Does anyone else think this was sketchy behaviour?

Queensborough Construction
Technically New West but… goodness is this the slowest construction work of all time?
I have loads of respect for the folks working to repair/rehabilitate the bridge but for the amount of closures, lane closures, and overall disruption, there’s a real underwhelming amount of visible completion.
The contract is worth 20M. It’s always painful to see construction companies in Europe get jobs like this completed in a quarter the amount of time and with similar or better quality.
Rant over. Just sick of the constant bottleneck.

Dollarama in North Burnaby
Little surprised that there is still no Dollarama in all of North Burnaby. There’s 3 on Kingsway (including two pretty close together) and 1 in South Burnaby
I know they prefer locations at shopping centers, but I’m wondering if there’s a market for it for perhaps at at Kensington Square where they could also get the student/SFU business
I definitely feel there’s a market for it and personally would love one (as I prefer to avoid Metrotown area) but curious if anyone else would want one there?

I need face massages with some focus on TMJ, but overall face and maybe scalp
Ideally RMT or Osteopath so my insurance can cover it

Metrotown madness
I was getting back to my car at Metrotown near with my mom and was eating a pastry front of the car when this lady stopped and asked if we going to leave. I said yes when we finish our foods when she started screaming: are you serious???? Then just kept on shouting at us so we walked away but made me wonder how normal is this behaviour in this part of Metro Vancouver? I know its walmart but we were still quite shocked.

Accident on Deer Lake Parkway
Had to turn left into Wayburne so cannot advise but there’s fire engines, ambulance & RCMP between there and Royal Oak.
Beware.
