The first picture is June 2026.
The second picture is November 2020.
Beryl, formerly known as Maisy, is one of two rescues that were adopted by my grandmother in November 2020. Beryl remained there until my grandmother died in March of this year, at which point she came to us. We changed her name because we already have a dog called Maisie, and that would be too confusing.
We don't know much of anything about Beryl before 2020, just that she passed through a few different homes before landing with my grandmother, and that she might have suffered physical abuse in her past. I think I vaguely remember hearing back in 2020 that they predicted her to be about 12 years old, but I don't believe this is true, as that would now make her 18, which seems far too old for her. She still has a lot of energy, and perhaps a bit of arthritis, but this rarely impedes her unless she hurts herself a little.
I personally predict her to be around 14 (making her 8 in 2020), but this isn't substantiated by anything, and really is just a complete guess.

My Cairn is turning 13 on Tuesday. I'm concerned she might be naughty, a bit disobedient, loud, and crazy now that she's a teenager.
None of this will be new. She's always been like that.

I am trying to determine what type of terrier my rescue is. She is 14 pounds has a longer coat and we have been told she is a Jack Russell mix. I’m not sure it’s possible she is Carin.
What does the collective say?

That’s it. Just missing him. We had 15 good years! It’s been almost two years that he’s been gone but sometimes it hits like it was just yesterday. Anyway. He was such a cutie and I know he’s up there hanging out with my dad. 🙂

This is puppy Calvin. 😍 He’s been home four days and I am thrilled with how well he is settling in his new pack. 🤔Would you share with me lessons learned? What is one thing you wish you had done when yours was a puppy? 🐶

When I'm home my dog demands barks to play and is very energetic. When I'm gone for long periods (all day, a week) she is just a lap dog and matches my husband's energy and asks for nothing.
I think it's interesting that she modifies her energy to whom she's with.
