While this is only tangentially Carmageddon related, some here might be interested to know the artist behind the official Carmageddon comic and long time Carmageddon community member Daniel "CzechDeath" Tejnický is currently running a kickstarter for an English language print run of his post-apocalyptic sci-fi graphic novel. The kickstarter ends in 4 days and is very close to hitting its goal. The graphic novel is finished, so the kickstarter is purely to fund the print run. If the community can get it over the line it would help him out a lot: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/337351951/deratizator

Idk 3 wheeled "stubby" armored trucks thats built like a brick isnt a foreign concept but the appearances was so close I had to double take and realized its just the suppressor

Had a lot of fun printing the Eagle 3 so I had to do the original! Link to the original artist in the comments (:

So i found this model on thingiverse I genuinely had to make it! It was missing a few things so I did my own thing im very happy with how it turned out!

After the swimming session into toxic water to show you the underwater effect, today I would like to show you my breakable objects system. As you can see in the video, you can break a lot of stuff — and a poor guy standing in the middle of my road :D. My main goal here is to maintain good performance while keeping a nice visual effect. In the future I will add more objects and more variety in the breaking sound effects. Now imagine a map with a field, filled with lots of peds to crush and lots of objects to break!

So, I normally use the Cleaver, the Crazor, and the Shredlight as my go-to cars (with the Electric Blue at the end of the game, naturally) but I started a new playthrough intending to mix things up and go for different cars. I started with the Razorbill, but when I unlocked my fave ever car I started using it... the Twister. I've always loved the look and feel of that car but (for some reason) I've never given in a shot in Max Damage.
As you can probably tell from the listed cars, I have a type: quicker, nimbler cars. The Crazor, for me, is OP. Its the only car I'll ever need. Anyway.
I've never used heavy cars. One of the biggest reason is that, while they take a beating as an opponent, when you're driving them they seem so... weak. I just used the Lumberer (no upgrades) and every time I went for a head-on hit I got the message 'you committed suic*de', which I find very strange as when I was unlocking it, it took an absolute pounding! I remember trying the Blitzkrieger in another playthrough and it was just so fragile.
Upgrading the vehicles will have benefits of course but I'm wondering what you guys think:
When you're driving heavier cars, are they too weak? Do you find them balanced with the other cars?

Hello drivers!
Yok here again, I did another Maximum Sexy Pigeon EP for y'all to enjoy!
Plenty of angry, raspy, guitar-driven industrial sickness to tuck right into.
Have fun, drive safely!

Hi guys! I'm working right now on the underwater effect in Concrete Carnage: Scrapheap. In Carmageddon, going underwater is a bit of a pain in the ass. Car handling becomes less easy and sometimes you can trigger a chain reaction between mines and other bad surprises. So in my game I'm trying to do something similar with maybe a better handling.
In the video you can see the physics effect when I drive underwater and hit an explosive barrel. I think the truck floats enough to make it quite uncontrollable, while still allowing some control when it lands back on its four wheels.
You can also briefly see the position reset when the truck is flipped, and the repair of detached parts which snap back into place from wherever they landed.

Hello everyone. I’m developing a vehicle-combat game inspired by the physics and atmosphere of the original Carmageddon.
I’m currently looking for a small group of players to test the early driving, collision, damage, and replay systems.
This is a very early development build:
The main public test begins August 3, although I may give some active testers access earlier.
You can sign up and follow development here:
https://ghosttogether.net/@autokalypsis
I’m especially interested in feedback from people who understand what made Carmageddon 1’s vehicle physics feel distinctive.

You already know, Concrete Carnage: Scrapheap lets you crush peds to win the race or earn credits and their blood is not green! But if you are too lazy to find them, the Magnet power-up does the job for you. It pulls them straight into your truck!
In the video it's a bit excessive because I spawned 100 pedestrians (and you already missed the beginning :D) , but you can see the result: your vehicle can be damaged, slowed down, and becomes harder to drive when too many are pulled at once.
The VFX for the magnet is not final. I will add more screams and maybe some dialogue lines too.

Carmageddon has always been primarily a series set around Melee combat, with any Ranged weapons such as the slaughter mortars being random pickups. Since day 1 the cars had lots of Spikes, blades, scoop, rams and cutting tools strapped to their cars. This was something I loved about Carmageddon, where they focused on these kind of weapons instead of Gunplay (And I like gunplay, I am Twisted Metal fan afterall, but Carmageddon should be about smashing into each other, not shooting normal guns)
Starting with carmageddon 2, the games have slowly been making these Melee attachments do more, such as the propellers on various vehicles in Carmageddon 2 chopping people up, having wheels Spikes be able to remove tires from opponents in TDR2000 and Max Damage, or Spikes/blades being able to slice and impale pedestrians in Max Damage.
I've always wondered how much farther they could take this, and maybe it's because of my love of Battlebots, but whole the games are very good at having these attachments affect pedestrians, I've always wanted to see more active and player controlled Melee Weapons that can do even more to other cars. And by this I mean having melee weapons that the player can activate or fire at any given time, whether it be a single Burst or simply powering a spinning weapon on.
Drills being able to penetrate other cars and leave holes, saw blades being able to rip and tear pieces off, hammers and crushers being to smash other cars, vehicles like the plow actually being able to use it's plow as a flipper to chuck other cars into the air (the screenshot was from a very old animation mod someone made), etc.
I dunno this is probably a pointless discussion, I admittedly just want the Plow to actually fling other cars because that would be cool. (I know it can fling pedestrians in MD since the scoop is a flap, and there are mods to make that work, but I digress)
Anywho this was just a discussion point I wanted to start.

Hi guys! I'm working right now on the suspension system for my game.
The weight of the cargos you haul affects the suspension, tires and handling of a truck, but not only that, if you carry too much weight you will also be slower. Cargos give you more credits at the end of the race and some can be explosive if you shake them too much.
So it's not necessary to haul cargos to win a race, and you can get a lot of credits by crushing peds too.
Anyway, if you have any ideas to customize this system let me know. Maybe hauling other types of cargos than a simple crate?

An independent remake of Carma 1 as an open world game. I love the graphic feels, without losing touch with the original but...evolved! I've always imagined something like this.

Got game in steam to play career with overhaul mod (and got 100% save in vanilla before installing the mod). And this is impossible for me, game crashes on level load. I'm able to launch freeplay race with pedestrians disabled even with max amount of opponents (11 in overhaul, but game will crash on max graphics settings) and game runs perfectly. With lowest graphics settings, 0 opponents and peds enabled - game crashes with visual c++ error, sometimes in doesn't say anything.
Experimental beta patch enabled, game launches in normal mode and not carMODgeddon, PC runs windows 10, windows 7 compatibility mode enabled, overhaul is the only mod installed, all mod files are sitting in ZAD folder, nvidia gpu, not amd, visual c++ 2015 redistributable installed, I don't even get to see pedestrians. Drivers in cars are missing too. Interesting part - pirated version of the game doesn't crash and I was able to finish 1st race in career.
How do I play overhaul mod v1.6 career mode on steam?
Edit: race launches in career and with pedestians enabled and doesn't crash on race start... in trumped-up mode. Still crashes after race is finished as soon as opponent wrecks are shown. No career progress is saved.
Edit #2: problem solved - always update your NVIDIA drivers, even if the game is 10 years old and your old drivers are 3 months old. Thank you microsoft for your useless misleading c++ runtime errors

Hi guys! I'm glad to see your enthusiasm about Concrete Carnage: Scrapheap. I'm not going to post all of my dev log here, but for the first ones who checked out the Steam page of my game I would like to share this first small video. It's a sneak peek of the damage and physics system. You can see the body deformation of the car (and a bit of the truck) and the messy result at the end.
Don't mind the engine sound of the car, I didn't work on it yet, but other sounds like impacts, tires and springs are what you will hear in the final game.

I will share some screenshots of future maps and more physics fun. Finally, I would like to ask if you would like to have a map like my test map: unrealistic but just a fun playground with no more purpose (with textures of course!)?

Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I shared some screenshots of my project here. A lot of you showed interest, so I figured this was the right place to share the update first.
The Steam page for Concrete Carnage: Scrapheap is now live!

For those who missed the first post, my game is a post-apocalyptic truck racing game directly inspired by the original Carmageddon from 1997.
