Mourning/Loss Stella has crossed the rainbow bridge this morning
Stella, our “bathroom cat” rescue. She was 18 years old when she passed peacefully in her sleep this morning. She’s been slowing down a lot the past few days and last night she stopped eating and drinking and didn’t want to leave anyone’s side. I knew in my heart it was her time to go. We sat beside her and pet her and told her how much we loved her as she peacefully fell asleep.
I won’t focus on her past because that’s not fair to her spunky sweet self. She was rescued from living in a bathroom for most of her life to coming to live with us. She was extremely matted and a very kind redditor paid for us to take her to the vet to get them all removed. She hated it and hated the vets lol.
She has lived with us and has been given so much love. She loves being snuggled, held, and kissed on her forehead. She LOVES water. She would often climb into the shower with us. She would stick her whole head under the faucet and drink water, our silly old lady. She would put her head on your leg and just stand there staring at you until you picked her up and held her. All she wanted was love 24/7 and I’m so happy she got to have that.
We may have only had her for a couple months, but everyone loved her. I’m so glad she got to spend the last of her days in a home out of a bathroom with a family that did everything they could for her. I wish she had a better life before coming to us. She will be so greatly missed as her little self made such a big impact on our family.

I remember your first post about Stella. I’m so glad she was able to spend her last few months as she deserved. You’re an angel for helping her, and I’m so sorry for your loss. ♥️

She crossed 2 days ago; Stella will love her. She was very friendly, rescued, starving, and blind in one eye here in the Philippines; gone too soon.

Farewell beautiful Stella… once you have made new friends on the other side of the rainbow, find a comfy spot where you can watch over your mom. Know she will love you forever. 🩷🌈🩷🌈🩷
She looks so much like my boy who just passed this Sunday. She looks more like a sibling than his actual siblings!! I hope they meet and have fun 🌈💕🌈

She looked so great so quickly! I can’t believe her fur grew back in that fast - I bet that was out of sheer happiness. Thanks so much to you and your mom for rescuing her, and to Alex got paying her vet bill. You ladies gave her life back to her when it mattered most ♥️♥️♥️.

R.I.P. Stella. I'm so sorry, it's not easy, and it hurts so much loosing a little one. It's amazing how something so tiny can make such a big impact.
Although it doesn't feel like it, grief and mourning can be the most beautiful emotions. It means they were so loved, mattered so much, and will be sorely missed.
Again I'm sorry for your loss. Taking things day by day helps and eventually things do get better

My deepest condolences, sending you a hug… I'm grieving for my cat Felix, who sadly passed away last week due to an aortic thrombosis… it hurts so incredibly much and I wish I could have had him for at least another 10 years… we all would have loved for him to have turned 20… 😭. He was only 10 years, three months and 12 days old… I miss him and hope that he and my other babies are doing well up there and that everyone is happy 🙏🏽.
I'm not ready to post anything about Felix yet…, It hurts too much... 💔😭.
