Advice Feliway diffusers

Does anybody who uses the feliway diffusers actually switch out the wall plug in as recommended? They recommend you change them every 6 months but that seems crazy to me.
I have two cats. The older male seems like he is bullying his sister for the past week. The diffusers were just refilled about a week ago so they’re not low. I’m wondering if I actually need to switch the plug in out as recommended.

Yes, switch them out as soon as it runs out of oil. It can start a fire.

I do change out the oil diffusers about every 3-4 weeks. I’m referring to the wall plug in element. Feliway recommended you replace the actually plug every 6 months.

Oooooooh. I have no answer for that then, I (thankfully) didn’t need to use them that long.

I switch them out when I see that it’s wearing out and you will definitely be able to tell.

If you look through the slots there is another set of slots that will start to melt eventually and usually the build up from it diffusing which can become discolored and gunky.

The optimum style wall plug in has a black plate that helps prevent the plastic from melting a little bit more.
