It was a spectacular failure, because they didn't have any German tanks to train them on. So when they were deployed in the field for the first time, the dogs ran straight under the Russian tanks, destroying them.

Just one of many reasons we should support the Ukraine. So heartwarming/heartwrenching to see these photos and videos of active service people rescuing and caring for animals alongside the displaced and wounded.
