I have visited almost every CeX in the north sydney area, and have traded in at every game store to spread out my trail

Today i got my holy grail - an RTX 3080 with 32GB ddr5 ram and a 12700kf, AIO cooled, with an msi pro z790-p WIFI mobo, all for a crisp 1300 dollars. But with the glitch, every 50 dollars i spent was equal to 250-300 dollars in store.

All my goods were bulk billed, roughly 15% on average, so for just under 300 dollars ive gotten a fully built 2 year old 3080 in CLEAN condition. It had no gpu holder or exaust fan, both of which i had lying around.

I share this story because they finally caught on. Price is still 2 times profit for trade in lmao but not nearly as rediculous. 10 dollars credit or 5 cash

You can still buy bulk on ali and make some dough ;)

In total ive bought about 7 micro sdc (big ones too), a surface pro 8 for 600, and my beautiful PC, all legally binding.

Telling you all because it was too good of a fleece to shut up about forever.

I bought a Galaxy S26 from CeX in mid July, using some cash some voucher.

Worked perfectly until last week, where it wouldn't work on network, only wifi. Ran the IMEI number through a checker and sure enough, it's most likely blacklisted.

Now, I'm stuck in a situation of needing a new phone and transfering everything off of my current one. Except I don't have a phone to transfer that data to and can't get one until I return this one.

Have other people had similar experiences with phones from CeX? I've been a regular customer for games and such for years and never had a problem. First time I've got a phone from them and this happens.

Bought a standard IPad Pro and the one I received had a screen protector already pre applied to it so I took it off to check the condition and turns out it’s a nano textured display. It must’ve been bought in wrong would this affect my warranty if I ever had any issues in the future?

Do I gotta make an account and go through all that or can I just pop down my local cex store and just sell it there? Will the price fluctuate or nah its a games console

3 days ago I bought two 16GB memory sticks for £170 each, they were the exact same (I selected the quantity to be 2), and the order went through fine, but today the status of one of them was updated to "Refunded" while the other is "Awaiting dispatch".

Now I don't know what to do because I can't refund the other one and I won't be able to find another piece of RAM with the same specifications at the same or lower price. Any recommendations?

Hey, so I was considering selling couple of my games to cex but I'm 15 so I legally can't but I was wondering if cex check your age online. I know it does check your age in store but online I couldn't find a single thing about it. They didn't check my age when I was signing up (I think) and when I placed an order to sell it was accepted so will they check my age when I will be getting the money or what?

I acquired my last couple of iPhones in US and Japan, but obviously they don’t have any SIM card slot at all. Does CeX in UK / Ireland accept these?

They’ve accepted foreign iPhones from me before (Australian, etc) that I’ve sold but this is the first time I’ve considered selling a slot-less phone to CeX.

I’ve just walked into cex and my god people weren’t lying, the workers look depressed misserable and fed up with life. And unbelievably rude i came in for two consoles and walked straight back out the smell is rank like sweaty gamers have gone for a jog in there bloody hell don’t go here.

Hello! First time posting here.
My 2DS from cex came with a few issues (Failing sleep switch which causes randomised black screens) so today I came in to cex to return the device.
They tested it for a hour. No one looked at the thing. No one even tested the sleep switch. They just left the console laying to the side on Mario kart 7.

And they said “there’s no issue with the device” And I did clearly show them two videos of the device screens just going black and then turning back on as if someone enabled sleep mode and disabled it quickly.

Now I was wondering what do I even do in my situation?

I think it’s been out a few years now, granted, I haven’t worked at a CeX since 2020. I did 18 months. But, I went in the other day and I see it’s much more like the website now. No more clunky cexpos with the annoying way of searching items, I recall asterisks and certain wording had to be used otherwise it never used to return what you searched for 🤣

I sent a few bits to cex on Sunday, a few games and a psvr2 boxed, supposed to get £205 voucher but I’ve just realised I didn’t include the cover part for the PSVR2 box mine had the horizon call of the mountain external slip cover part.

Will they knock the grade level down because of this?

L'assistenza mi dice che ha un pad graffiato e non può pagarmi, però nel sito dice che accettano anche prodotti graffiati purché funzionanti. Il punto è che la ragazza dell'assistenza stessa mi ha detto di non averlo testato, quindi per lei un leggero graffio (apparentemente in un pad corrispondente a quelli vcc o simili, che sono comunque ridondanti e non estremamente indispensabili) porta direttamente alla cpu non funzionante. Vorrei avere dei contatti se qualcuno li ha con la sede di CeX Bologna che è dove ho spedito per vedere se si riesce a risolvere e a ottenere quantomeno un po' di correttezza.

I’m planning on trading my old Canon 700D tomorrow. I went to visit my local CEX today to trade some other stuff, and need to go back tomorrow once they’ve finished their testing, and they said they would be happy to take it in, but I need the charger with it. I’ve got two LP-E8 battery chargers that I had been using before upgrading to my current camera, however they are both third-party and USB powered chargers rather than wall socket charges like the official Canon chargers.

Would this be an issue in them taking it, do you think? I’d assume they’d mark down the price for them being third party, and I’m fine with that (any money from it is fine, just want out of the storage space it was taking up).

As title, how bad idea is it to buy a used external USB-drive from CeX? They are listed without any power on hours or similar so I suppose it's gamble but does anyone know what tests are done when CeX buys them from a seller?

Having said that, it comes with 5 years warranty so there's that. I will use if it for non-vital backups.

I bought the Lenovo 27Q-10 27" 2K QHD 240Hz Gaming Monitor for £105 fully expecting it to be LCD and when i brought it home it was the OLED version which retailed for £450. I've tested the screen and its perfect i just dont know how they didnt mark it as OLED?

Purchased a ps5 pro today and was about to attach a disc drive. I noticed the warranty sticker has peeled up but it is also on at an angle. Would you take this back and swap for a different console? I'm worried that if I ever need to return it due to an issue that they will refuse based on this sticker. Thanks.

I have a question about the warranty.

I have bought a PSVR2 in Boxed condition a few months ago. No issues with it.

However the box for it is quite bulky and I’d like to get rid of it.

If I need to make a warranty claim, is the box needed?

I understand for returning an item, which I am way passed that anyways it’s needed.
