Hi everyone I’ve got a problem with my clutch arm on my NK450 2024
My clutch has failed, I got a bit too ahead of myself with wheelie practice and didn’t give the bike much of a break until the clutch gave out, I noticed when I dumped the clutch it wouldn’t stall, it would just keep going forward, after 5 mins - in gear - when I dumped the clutch it wouldn’t even go forward anymore, even when giving it revs.
I let it cool down for 15 minutes then the bike kept moving forward again but wouldn’t stall with the clutch lever fully out again.
Now these are the symptoms of frying a clutch although when me and my pal took the clutch basket off and checked the plates they looked fine, no chipping, damage, burnt marks - nothing. Which is really strange considering the problem it was giving - So I ordered new friction and steel plates anyway - I replaced the clutch with my pal and and now the new problem is the clutch arm, for the love of God we cannot fit the clutch cable to its right spot, the spindle with the spring mechanism sits at this angle shown briefly in the video.
Now problem is, it will lock in one place but where it locks not only 1: its way too far back where it locks which means even if you pull the cable back from the lever and attach it, you won’t be able to attach it back to the lever and 2: it slips away, the spring is compressed but when you decompress it by not holding it down and then pull at the cable it just slips from the spot and goes more forward where we get wayyy too much slack the lever. We tried all possible adjustments at the lever and at the nuts, we tried to put the arm spindle in different angles and nothing.
I’m genuinely so confused with what happened considering the clutch was engaged properly when the issue occurred and there was normal tension before taking the cable off, now when trying to put the cable back in all of the sudden the mechanism isn’t catching properly or there’s some sort of problem that I can’t understand.
If anyone knows anything or is familiar with this please do give me a hand it would be much appreciated 🙏
