Hey Chi Riders! A few of us Louisville riders are coming this weekend to cycle your incredible city. We are a mix of fixies, gravel bikers and road bikers. We are planning to join the Bike Sox crew and do Bike the Drive, but are there any other cool bike groups out this weekend? Or any trails, areas you suggest we explore?

Pretty much ideal conditions for a fast 600km ride down to central Illinois. 0 wind at night, cool temps and decent tailwind on the way home. Missed my goal time by 9 minutes thanks to some longer than anticipated stops, but very proud to ride for 24 hours without sleeping.

First time seeing these looks like the step-through frame has been refined, making it easier to step into and the wheels look slightly smaller.

Are there any shops that would offer bike maintenance courses for someone who is interested in leaning? Or maybe a build a bike workshop over the course of months?

Finally the Salt Creek Trail I-294 underpass is completed. Its possible now to start at Brookfield Zoo and connect to the Prairie Path or Great Western trails like 5 years ago

Anyone else frequent that trail? Its a long way out there on my own!

Just wondering if anyone else is concerned about the e-motorcyclists who pop wheelies while riding the LFT? We were riding southbound yesterday afternoon and they were riding north for a bit and then looping back to their group gathered under a tree. The trail was so crowded that we couldn't really avoid them, had to keep pace and stay in our lane, but I was so scared

Those bikes are heavy and the guys were driving fast, and they didn't appear to always be under control. I feel like if they hit someone it would cause permanent disability, if not death.

my e-bike unfortunately got stolen yesterday morning. I went to work and locked my bike up at the bike rack at the Ridgeland greenline around 5:30am, and came back to see the broken locks and no bike.

I am looking to buy an ebike and am leaning toward the Aventon Level 4 REC - would love to hear any experiences with this bike or brand! Or other brands that you love! My top requirements are comfort, suspension, throttle, and ability to pull about 100lbs in tow.

Also, I’m new to city biking and want to make sure I can lock up my new bike safely, what are your best lock and locking system recommendations? Should I be buying 2 locks?

Just a heads up: the Damen bridge is currently being scraped. I only saw the south end, but the bike detour is routed to the sidewalk.

Anyone know if they will add protection to the downhill SB lane as it approaches Elston?

28 mph assisted is still too fast for a bike path.

I like that we have the new law coming. But 28mph is too fast for the 606 (edit: always forget the number name) or the lsd path. There are kids on the walking portion. Pedestrians. Slow unassisted riders. Congestion. It's one thing to see the like 3 people who can actually bike that fast cruising with precise turns and eagle eyes focused forwards. It's quite another to see a dude with sunglasses and ANC blasting past people, no helmet, recovering from a hangover.

28mph assisted is too fast. Anything beyond class I should be street only.

Kind of a rant, but I'm also curious what the opinion is?
