Linux (Crostini) Can't install Linux. This error keeps popping up :(

I wanted to install Linux but... "Error installing Linux". The progress bar stops exactly at the same position and I just don't know what's the problem because it doesn't provide any useful information.

This is a Chromebook 3110 2 in 1 (convertible)

Any help with this appreciated really

I don't want to change ChromeOS just need the Linux container to work to be able to install desktop programs

That version is two years old. It's possible it is trying to download a version of the Linux system files that no longer exists on the servers.

The Dell Chromebook 3110 2-in-1 is supported until 2031, so there is a problem with your Chromebook being unable to install updates. Fix that problem and it will probably also fix the Linux install issue.

The simplest solution is to wipe the Chromebook and reinstall ChromeOS using a Recovery USB. This will make a fresh install of the latest version. Here is the guide to do that.

País?? Influye mucho!! Soy de Cuba y tenía esta misma situación. De hecho no me llegaban ni las actuaciones de Chrome OS. Insertar un VPN en mi red WiFi soluciono el problema para siempre!

That's a problem. Any connections to servers located in the US will be blocked.

The Dell Chromebook 3110 (and 3110 2-in-1) natively supports the Linux Development Environment (Crostini). If your device says it does not support a VM, hyper-threading (HT), or the Linux Developer Environment, the problem is usually caused by admin blocks or software corruption rather than a hardware limitation, fix this

I had the same problem, but after I simply restarted my Wi-Fi modem, the problem was fixed. Try restarting your modem, or use a different Wi-Fi connection.
