Daily Question Question Thread - August 30, 2026

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Are there any business cards that don’t hit credit score/lines AT ALL besides Amex business? Saving up for a house and don’t want any new lines or inquiries on the report.

Delta SkyMiles Gold biz has successfully avoided both my and P2’s reports and hoping there’s something else similar (besides the other Delta biz cards obviously, which we will indeed churn); we don’t quite have the spend for Amex Biz Gold or Plat.

My understanding is that no other cards can dodge reports besides Amex biz but hiping I’m wrong :)

Amex biz is it. Fortunately, there is a wide assortment from which to choose.

Gotcha. Am I missing anything besides Green/Gold/Plat, Delta cards, and BBP? I believe that’s it right

There’s only one Hilton/Marriott biz card each.

This is a super niche data point, but here ya go...

I have a legit biz relationship with PNC...

With a 100k LOC.

Applied for Biz Options card, and they took my tax returns, and did their own due diligence, they figured they'd have to do it this way because of how much credit I already had with them.

You most likely need an existing relationship with them though.

No hard pulls with any bureau.

Other than Amex Biz, there is the KeyBank biz card. Not exactly a hot churning product, however.

Here's the thing - if you apply for one single new card, with just one new inquiry and one new account, that's not a big deal to the mortgage company. That's totally normal for most people. You'll just have to explain that you opened a new credit card and you pay off the balance every month.

I bought a house a little over two years ago slightly before I was ready because it was the right place, and I had 3 new inquiries and cards to explain. I still got the best interest rate. I also refinanced at the end of last year, same deal. If you're only getting one new card, get the best one possible. It's not a big deal.

My impression is that it depends on your credit score & debt to income ratio. If you have a high credit score and you're not on the edge of approval/denial, one more hard pull & another minimum payment aren't likely to make a difference. If someone was on the edge of being approved for a loan, maybe their score dropping a few points will cause a problem.

Yes, this is exactly the reasoning. We don’t have a great income — I’m lucky enough to have enough for a healthy down payment, but we’re both (freelance/self-employed) musicians without amazingly consistent income. Credit scores are very good but just concerned about income level/proof.

So we figure better safe than sorry. We LOVE our points, it just doesn’t seem worth the risk when we’re not amazing loan prospects.

AF is approaching with my Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card- DP's from about a year ago say that it can't be product changed. Any recent DP's that say otherwise? Any tips? Might just cancel it; useless card to me.

Only option is to cancel.

Likely no PC options, but doesn’t hurt to call and ask for retention.

unfroze wrong credit report for p2 Chase Ink application. They said unfreeze and call. Do I need to call or can I just unfreeze and re-apply online? Edit: seems like it will be auto-denied.

What happens if I unfreeze then apply for the other ink instead?... hmmm 🤔 Or will it also be rejected for velocity?

Just unfreeze and call

a friend applied CSP more than 30 days ago, got denied, then he was out of town to take care of his mother who had a stroke. Can he still call for reconsideration? He only applied and approved for the CIC in the last 24 months.

That application is dead now. He'd have to reapply

Does Ben know about the "frustration" thread?

Make sure it’s not through a bank that you’re going to apply for a mortgage

Venture X first doesn’t hit credit reports

Seems not a question.
